Sunday 2Wheel Roadtrip Kalamata to Porto Kagio, Greece
ΔΙΑΔΡΟΜΗ: 286 Χλμ.
Καλαμάτα – Σπάρτη – Γύθειο – Κότρωνας – Πόρτο Κάγιο – Αρεόπολη – Καρδαμύλη – Καλαμάτα. ( )
Από το κέντρο της Καλαμάτας ξεκινήσαμε 4 μοτοσικλετιστές στις 10:00, με σκοπό να κάνουμε την παραπάνω διαδρομή. Ο καιρός υπέροχος και η διάθεση για να περάσουμε καλά, είναι στο ζενίθ. Σκαρφαλώνουμε στον Ταΰγετο για να πάμε Σπάρτη, όσο ανηφορίζουμε, η καθαρή ατμόσφαιρα μας χαρίζει καταπληκτική θέα, όπου στο βάθος το γαλάζιο του ουρανού, γίνεται ένα με το γαλάζιο του Μεσσηνιακού Κόλπου. Ο δρόμος γνωστός (χαμόγελα μέσα από το κράνος). Περνάμε Σπάρτη και συνεχίζουμε για Γύθειο. Πρώτη μας στάση για καφεδάκι και να επισκεφτούμε τη νήσο Κρανάη, όπου υπάρχει ο φάρος του Γυθείου και ο πύργος του Τζανετάκη. Συνεχίζουμε για Πόρτο Κάγιο, δια μέσου Κότρωνα και Λάγια. Στο Πόρτο Κάγιο φτάσαμε στις 15:00 όπου καθίσαμε για φαγητό.
Από το Πόρτο Κάγιο πήραμε το δρόμο της επιστροφής: Βάθεια, Γερολυμένα, Αρεόπολη. Στην Καρδαμύλη φτάσαμε περίπου στις 19:30 και κάναμε στάση, για να δούμε τη δύση του ηλίου, συντροφιά με μια μπάλα παγωτό. Αφού έχουμε οξύνει τις αισθήσεις μας, ξεκινάμε για τα σπίτια μας. Πλησιάζοντας στο τέλος της διαδρομής βλέπουμε την Καλαμάτα φωταγωγημένη. Η νύχτα μόλις ξεκινά!!!

From the center of Kalamata started four motorcyclists at 10:00, in order to do the above route. The weather wonderful and the mood to have a good time, is at the zenith. Climb Taygetus Sparta to go, as we ascend, our clean air gives magnificent views where deep blue sky, becomes one with the blue of the Messinian Gulf. The famous street (smiles through the helmet). Pass Sparta and continue to Gythio. Our first stop for coffee and to visit the island Kranai, where the lighthouse of Gythion and the tower of Tzanetaki. We continue to Porto Cayo, through Kotrona and Laya. In Cayo Porto arrived at 15:00 where we seat to eat.
From Porto Cayo we took the road back: Vathia, Gerolymena, Areopolis. Kardamili arrived around 19:30 and we stopped to see the sunset, accompanied by a scoop of ice cream. After we sharpen our senses, we start in our homes. Nearing the end of the path we see the illuminated Kalamata. The night is just beginning !!!

Die Mani - Peloponnes - Griechenland
Wir bereisen die Mani: Zuerst zu sehen: Das über 2400 Meter Hohe Taygetos-Gebirge von Kardamili aus, dann reisen wir entlang der Schucht von Sparta nach Kalamata, ganz im Norden, weitere Bilder dann von Lefktro mit den restaurierten traditionellen Gebäuden, weiter südwärts nach Vathia das zumeist aus wenig bewohnten Wohntürmen, die sich festungsähnlich auf der Spitze eines Felsvorsprungs unweit des Messenischen Golfs konzentrieren, besteht.
Weiter geht's es an den südlichsten Punkt des europäischen Festlandes, zum Kap Tenaro auch Kap Metapan. Hier sehen wir die Überreste eines antiken Poseidon-Tempels, der in byzantinischer Zeit zu einer christlichen Kirche umfunktioniert wurde. Weiter in die Bucht von Porto Kagio, auf der Südostseite und die Ostküste entlang wieder hinauf
Die Mani (griechisch Μάνη) ist ein Landstrich im Süden der griechischen Halbinsel Peloponnes - genauer deren „Mittelfinger“. Die Mani beginnt südlich der Stadt Kalamata und endet an der Spitze des Mittelfingers (Kap Tenaro, auch Kap Matapan genannt). Das Kap liegt südlicher als Tunis und ist nach Tarifa (Spanien) der südlichste Festland-Punkt Europas. Hauptort der Mani ist Areopoli.
Mani wird unterteilt in drei Bereiche: die äußere Mani (Éxo Mani) nördlich von Areópoli, die hauptsächlich in der nordwestlich gelegenen Präfektur Messenien liegt, die innere Mani (Méssa Mani) südlich von Areópoli auf der westlichen Seite, sowie die Östliche Mani (Kato Mani) mit dem Hauptort Gythio. Die letzten beiden Teile liegen in der südöstlichen Präfektur Lakonien.
