  • 2. Finikounda Beach Finikounda
    Foinikounta is a seaside village and a community in the municipal unit of Pylos-Nestor, Messenia, Greece. It is situated in the southwestern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula, 9 km east of Methoni and 37 km southwest of Kalamata. It is most notable for its beautiful beaches which attract mostly Greek and other European visitors during the summer months. It has a small port. The community consists of the main village Foinikounta, the small villages Anemomylos, Chounakia, Grizokampos and Loutsa, and the island Schiza.

    Voidokilia Beach is a popular beach in Messinia in the Mediterranean area. In the shape of the Greek letter omega , its sand forms a semicircular strip of dunes. On the land-facing side of the strip of dunes is Gialova Lagoon, an important bird habitat. The beach has been named A Place of Particular Natural Beauty. It is part of a Natura 2000 protected area.

The community consists of the villages Romanos and Petrochori. Petrochori is famous because of the Voidokilia beach. Also, near the village there is Nestor's cave.
