The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux is the fine arts museum of the city of Bordeaux, France. Established in 1801 by the painter Pierre Lacour, it is one of the largest art galleries of France outside Paris.
The museum is housed in a dependency of the Palais Rohan in central Bordeaux. Its collections regroup paintings, sculptures and drawings. The painting collection is the largest one and its strong points are works by French and Dutch painters. The museum holds several paintings that were looted by the French during the French revolution (so-called 'saisies révolutionnaires') such as the Martyrdom of Saint Georges by Peter Paul Rubens

Vannes is a walled town in the Brittany region of northwest France. Its old town is characterized by narrow cobbled streets and medieval gates. At its heart, Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Vannes blends Romanesque and Gothic styles, while Place des Lices square is lined with colorful half-timber houses. The harbor, to the south, features restaurants and boats that cruise the Gulf of Morbihan.
Vannes is located on the Gulf of Morbihan at the mouth of two rivers, the Marle and the Vincin. It is around 100 kilometres (62 miles) northwest of Nantes and 450 km (280 mi) south west of Paris. Vannes is a market town and often linked to the sea.
What a beauty! Overlooking the Golfe du Morbihan, Vannes is one of the unmissable towns of Brittany. Spectacular fortifications encircle Vannes' meandering alleys and cobbled squares, and lead down to a sparkling marina lined with cafes and townhouses. The city still preserves much of its medieval atmosphere, but it's a long way from being a museum piece. It has a lively bar and restaurant scene year-round, and it's also an excellent base for exploring the glittering island-studded Golfe du Morbihan and nearby neolithic sites.
The name Vannes comes from the Veneti, a seafaring Celtic people who lived in the south-western part of Armorica in Gaul before the Roman invasions. The region seems to have been involved in a cross channel trade for thousands of years, probably using hide boats and perhaps Ferriby Boats. Wheat that apparently was grown in the Middle East was part of this trade. At about 150 BC the evidence of trade (such as Gallo-Belgic coins) with the Thames estuary area of Great Britain dramatically increased.

Sure, everyone knows about the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre,
but what else does France have to offer?
One of the places on the video is the Mont-Saint-Michel is one of Europe’s most unforgettable sights. Set in the mesmerising bay where Normandy and Brittany merge, the island draws the eye from great distances.
The staggering location has long inspired awe and the imagination. The story of how the mount turned into a great place of Christian pilgrimage is colourful. Aubert, bishop of the nearby hilltop town of Avranches early in the 8th century, claimed that the Archangel Michael himself pressured him into having a church built atop the island just out to sea.

The Musée Maillol is an art museum located in the 7th arrondissement at 59-61, rue de Grenelle, Paris, France. The museum was established in 1995 by Dina Vierny, model for sculptor Aristide Maillol, and operated by the Fondation Dina Vierny.
It presents both the work of Maillol (drawings, engravings, paintings, sculptures, decorative art, original plaster and terracotta work) and Vierny's collection of the masters of French naive art including a painting by Henri Rousseau; drawings by Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Suzanne Valadon, and Tsuguharu Foujita; drawings and watercolours by Raoul Dufy; paintings by Pierre Bonnard and Serge Poliakoff; lithographic work by Odilon Redon; wood and watercolours by Paul Gauguin.
Sculptures by Auguste Rodin; and works by Wassily Kandinsky, Marcel Duchamp, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, Robert Couturier, and Jacques Villon, as well as Russian artists including Eric Bulatov, Oscar Rabine, and Vladimir Yankilevsky. The museum is open daily, including Tuesdays; an admission fee is charged.

The Hôtel d'Assézat in Toulouse, France, is a Renaissance hôtel particulier (palace) of the 16th century which houses the Bemberg Foundation, a major art gallery of the city. The Hôtel d'Assézat was likely built by Toulouse architect Nicolas Bachelier for Pierre d'Assézat, a rich Toulouse manufacturer. The construction of the Hôtel began in 1555 and was not yet completed when Pierre d'Assézat died in 1581. It is an outstanding example of Renaissance palaces architecture of southern France, with an elaborate decoration of the cour d'honneur (courtyard) influenced by Italian manierism and by classicism. The use of brick is typical of Toulouse. The Hôtel now belongs to the City of Toulouse and was restored in the 1980s.
Two sides of the courtyard have a three-level elevation superimposing the three classical orders (Ionic order, Doric order, Corinthian order); It takes up the hierarchy of orders established by the treatise of Serlio. The imposing tower of staircase at the corner rises high enough to be visible in the distance. With the loggia, we find all the elements of a mansion of the Renaissance era. It is one of the first manifestations of French classicism.
Since 1994, the Hôtel d'Assézat has housed the Bemberg Foundation (Fondation Bemberg), an art gallery which presents to the public one of the major private collections of art in Europe: the personal collection of the wealthy Argentine Georges Bemberg (1915–2011). His foundation was created in collaboration with the City of Tolouse. The large Bemberg collection features paintings, drawings, sculptures, ancient books and furniture. Paintings and drawings are the highlights of the collection, especially 19th and early 20th century French paintings (with impressionism, Nabis, post-impressionism and fauvism) and Venetian paintings of the 16th and 18th centuries.

Route n°2 | Road-trip dans l'Ouest de la France
Nous voilà repartis, Julie et moi pour un road-trip dans notre très beau pays : la France. Au programme, une ballade en Bretagne : Saint-Brieuc, Rennes, Brignogan et Perros Guirec. Puis nous sommes descendus rendre visite à mon frère Julien à Toulouse. Sa copine, Emma, nous a fait découvrir son coin : Albi, Réalmont et Lautrec. Ensuite, nous avons commencé à remonter du coté d'Arcachon pour finir la journée à la Dune du Pilat. Nous avons fait un crochet à l'île d'Oléron où nos amis Lucie et Cyril passaient quelques jours. Puis nous avons fait un arrêt rapide à la Tranche-sur-mer pour essayer de prendre quelques vagues, sans succès... Nous avons terminé notre périple à Pornic où nous avons pu observer ces superbes petites cabanes de pêcheurs...
La route n°3 se passera au Costa Rica en Janvier 2019 ! À bientôt ;)

Bonjour, onze kleinschalige camping ligt in het zuidwesten van Frankrijk, een gebied dat nog niet erg bekend is maar zeker de moeite waard is om ontdekt te worden.
Op de camping, weg van de drukte van alle dag, kunt u genieten van de natuur, de ruimte, een lekkere wandeling, afkoelen in het zwembad of gewoon een boek lezen terwijl de kinderen zich vermaken in de speeltuin, op de trampoline of bij het zoeken naar hagedissen of krekels.
De sportievelingen kunnen zich uitleven op de wandel- en fietsroutes die vanaf de camping starten waarvan we kaarten ter beschikking stellen. Verder is er in de buurt de mogelijkheid om paarden of mountainbikes te huren en kanotochten te maken op de Aveyron. Ook voor de sportvisser zijn er in de buurt legio mogelijkheden.
Verder zijn er op de camping mogelijkheden voor: jeu de boules, basketbal, volleybal, tafeltennis en in de nabije omgeving: vissen, kanoën, beklimmen van rotsen en afdalen in grotten.
Voor een eenvoudige maaltijd en een lekker drankje kunt u bij ons terecht, of in de omliggende pittoreske dorpjes. In het laagseizoen verzorgen wij op aanvraag een table d'hôte en in het hoogseizoen wordt er tweemaal moules à la paille georganiseerd. Mosselen op traditionele wijze bereid op een hoog oplaaiend vuur van stro.
Wanneer u niet afhankelijk bent van de schoolvakanties kunt u overwegen om de camping in het voorjaar te bezoeken. Op het terrein bloeien dan vele verschillende zeldzame orchideeën, zoals o.a. de bijenorchidee, de tongorchidee en het soldaatje. In totaal zijn er al 18 verschillende orchideeën soorten gezien. Andere voorjaarsgasten zijn o.a. de hop, de wielewaal en de dwergooruil.
