1. Marble Mountain Corner Brook
Marble Mountain is a ski resort located in the town of Steady Brook, on the west coast of Newfoundland in the Long Range Mountains. The resort is located on a series of steep ridges forming part of the southern side of the Humber River valley on Mount Musgrave at Steady Brook, approximately 7 km east of Corner Brook. As the name implies, marble is present but it forms only a minor part of the bedrock, which is mostly schist. The peak is named in honour of Sir Anthony Musgrave, a colonial governor of Newfoundland. Marble Mountain is the site of the largest alpine ski resort in Atlantic Canada. Environment Canada's doppler weather radar station XME, part of the Canadian weather radar network is located near the resort at the summit of Mount Musgrave. Flophouse Teardown in Surrey, BC

Something to Celebrate! One of several flophouses in Sullivan Heights.
This one at 13871 - 64th Avenue was home to dozens of transients, most with criminal records. There have been 3 suspicious fires at this address. Just beyond the bulldozer is Reidville Creek and Hyland Park. Neighbours living in the area are not sad to see this place gone. It shouldn't have taken years.

The owners of these flophouse rentals need to be held financially and legally accountable for the 10s of thousands of dollars due to repeated police, fire, ambulance and bylaw calls. Law abiding taxpayers should not foot the bill for such flagrant disregard for our city and its policies and bylaws. The grief that is caused by the unsociable and often criminal behaviour tenants in these houses bring to the surrounding community can't be understated.Try selling a home while drug dealers are hanging out on the street corner.
