The caves were formed from granite boulders and are so named because the deepest cave is cold enough to allow snow to linger long into the summer. The caves are a popular tourist destination. The cave park contains boardwalks, giant boulder gardens, and a small zoo, with deer, pheasants and other unusual game birds, as well as a mining game for children.
