Elevée sur un lido marécageux, Aigues-Mortes naît en 1240 de le volonté de saint Louis. Premier roi de France à disposer d'un port sur la Méditerranée, il s'impose sur des terres cernées par les puissances voisine. il batît la future tour de constance et un château aujourd'hui disparu, et aménage des canaux vers la mer
Les remparts d'Aigues-Mortes ont été construits par Saint Louis.
Les tours et remparts d'Aigues Mortes forment un monument ouvert au public par le Centre des monuments nationaux. La tour de Constance, fut érigée en 1242 par Saint Louis sur l’ancien emplacement de la tour Matafère, construite par Charlemagne vers 790, pour abriter la garnison du roi. Les travaux se terminèrent en 1254. Son diamètre est de 22 mètres, sa hauteur au sommet de la lanterne est de 33 mètres ou 40 mètres selon diverses sources… L’épaisseur des murs à la base est de 6 mètres. Au rez-de-chaussée, on trouve la salle des gardes avec son accès protégé par une herse. Au centre de la pièce, une ouverture circulaire permet d’accéder aux sous-sols qui servaient de garde-manger, de réserve de munitions et aussi de cachots. Ce lieu s’appelait les « culs de basse fosse ». Au premier étage, on accède à la salle des chevaliers. Elle ressemble de par sa structure à la salle des gardes. C’est dans cette salle que furent emprisonnées au XVIIIe siècle des protestantes dont la plus connue fut Marie Durand qui grava sur la margelle du puits le mot « résister ». Ce mot est toujours visible de nos jours. Elle fut emprisonnée à l’âge de 15 ans et libérée 38 ans plus tard, avec des prisonniers politiques (Abraham Mazel, chef camisard). Entre ces deux salles, un étroit chemin de ronde, fut construit dans l'épaisseur du mur pour surveiller la salle basse. Après la salle des chevaliers, on accède à la terrasse qui offre un large panorama sur la région, représentant ainsi un poste idéal de surveillance. Les prisonnières étaient quelquefois autorisées à venir y respirer l’air pur.
on peut y voir L'église Notre Dame des Sablons dernier témoignage de l'embarquement de Saint Louis pour les croisades. La date exacte de sa construction n'est pas connue. Elle a vraisemblablement été construite avant les remparts, vers le milieu du XIIIe siècle, à l'époque de saint Louis et est de style gothique

Neuilly-sur-Seine (French pronunciation: [nøji syʁ sɛn]) is a French commune just west of Paris, in the department of Hauts-de-Seine. A suburb of Paris, Neuilly is immediately adjacent to the city and directly extends it. The area is composed of mostly wealthy, select residential neighbourhoods, and many corporate headquarters are located there.

Until the French Revolution, the settlement was often referred to as Port-Neuilly, but at the creation of French communes in 1790 the Port was dropped and the newly born commune was named simply Neuilly.
On 1 January 1860, the city of Paris was enlarged by annexing neighbouring communes. On that occasion, a part of the territory of Neuilly-sur-Seine was annexed by the city of Paris, and forms now the neighbourhood of Ternes, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
On 11 January 1867, part of the territory of Neuilly-sur-Seine was detached and merged with a part of the territory of Clichy to create the commune of Levallois-Perret.
On 2 May 1897, the commune name officially became Neuilly-sur-Seine (meaning Neuilly upon Seine), in order to distinguish it from the many communes of France also called Neuilly. However, most people continue to refer to Neuilly-sur-Seine as simply Neuilly. During the 1900 Summer Olympics, it hosted the basque pelota events.[1]
The American Hospital of Paris was founded in 1906.
In 1919, the Treaty of Neuilly was signed with Bulgaria in Neuilly-sur-Seine to conclude its role in World War I.
In 1929, the Bois de Boulogne, which was hitherto divided between the communes of Neuilly-sur-Seine and Boulogne-Billancourt, was annexed in its entirety by the city of Paris.

dont go to au bon pain in le sablon, service is crap, they serve me raw eggs, told the manager he didn t care made me pay anyway i had to return that breakfast but one bite was too much i was sick like a dog. Plus they only serve russian coffee, they don t know what is a bowl of café latté, the service is so long you can actual die of waiting there, so so so bad they started a great branch the other one in Bru in st-gery is way better but the one in London England in Marylebone is my favorite it s awsome sooososso good what a shame au bon pain is Belge! the bread si so good there, all their marvellous spread...but raw eggs made me sick for weeks... but I still love Belgium
i love all of the other places...and have fun they're plenty of other breakfast place in le sablon and so many nice boutiques too.
Marcollini the best chocolatier hum not for me! try it for the sake of trying it but for me the bite is too small too too too small you loose the taste. We were a group of chocolate taster amateur and marcollini is at the buttom of our list. you bite and the bite is so tiny you loose it all...so dissapointed to have lost so much money for so little of this famous chocolate...the chocolate it self is quite good but too small again and the filling the same thing..dont waste your money on this but you have to go and try it and the boutique is so cold, so out of style, there is no passion in the decor and no passion in the chocolate too but I love the other ones and my cookies from delacre. And beware of the flower man on the grand place he sold me bags of bulbs supposely good for canada and they weren't he is a liar. I don't like liar he should be trusty especially on the grand place in front of the city hall what a bunch of liars...I spend 21 euros for those bulbs luckily i declare them in Canada...what a shame this is not how to make business gardener lovers, i don t think so. Yes when you go to les Marolles and bargain it is part of the deal to get cross or not but it is not part of the deal on the grand place in front of the city hall where justice is supposed to start. But go to Bruxelles it s great fun trust me !
Go and dine like the rich Belge in elgaqueen my favorite and go to arcadi for nice little meal with the Belgium.
My favorite for dessert is at leonidas near the grand place they serve hot chocolate sauce over a shish kebab of fresh strawberries not to miss really and while you are there get some chocolate my favorite alexandre le grand square with caramel the LOuise and the Manon in all the 3 different kind of chocolate. ENjoy the Belgium are really nice and the pubs all different a great institution is LA mort subite. But go to St Gery street, music street ...
