A short video showing the place des Vosges (1:41), the rue des Rosiers (5:46), and part of the Marais, in Paris, France. You can see the type of crowds that develop in popular areas on weekends with good weather.
The rumbling noise you hear in many parts of the video is just the wind. The bad cuts at around 4:30 were due to a power failure while I was editing the video; that did something to the editing project and I couldn't make it go away.

Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, France
A twenty-minute visit to the world's most famous cemetery, Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, France. More than a million people have been buried at Père Lachaise, and its tombs are among the most artistic and varied that you'll find anywhere. It's also a quiet, pleasant place for a stroll or a rest—if you don't mind being surrounded by dead bodies.
This video shows how to reach the cemetery, and shows examples of some of the many varied tombs within. It also shows a random handful of celebrity tombs, and a selection of memorial monuments. It's not an inventory of famous dead people or funereal art, just a sampler of what you can see at the cemetery—enough to show why it is such a popular tourist destination.
I've included some very simple narration in the closed captions, but it's not very interesting. The actual audio in the video is sound from the cemetery—and the cemetery is very quiet most of the time, so you'll have to crank it if you want to hear anything (mostly wind in the trees).

Place du Marché Saint-Honoré, Paris, France
A six-minute visit to the place du Marché Saint-Honoré. Four hundred years ago it was a convent. Two hundred years ago it was an open food market. Sixty years ago it was turned into a parking garage. Now it's a modern office and shopping building, hidden among much older buildings near the heart of Paris.

1. Notre Dame
Towering Notre Dame Cathedral and its island home, the île de la Cite, are the visual crown of the historic heart of Paris. In 2013 the cathedral will celebrate its 850th birthday accompanied by nine newly cast bronze bells. Nearby is the Palais de Justice made famous during the French Revolution, the Conciergerie (where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned), the stained glass mastery of the church Saint Chapelle, the famous Pont Neuf Bridge, and the delightful residences and shops of the island Île de Sainte Louis.
2. Eiffel Tower
Visiting the stunning, world-famous Eiffel Tower and viewing the city from on high is considered by many the traditional right of passage when visiting Paris. Nearby are: the Palais de Chaillot and its museums, the Musée du Quai Branly (ethnography) and the Musée Marmottan Monet (an excellent art museum focused on the works of Monet).
3. Champs Elysées
This the romantic heart of Paris and one of the most popular streets for strolling and shopping while gazing at the monumental Arc de Triomphe. Seine River cruises are nearby. Click for more details on the many things to see and do on the Champs

4. The Louvre
Perhaps the most well-known and important of the world's museums, the Louvre has an incomparable collection of art (including the Mona Lisa), statuary and historic artifacts. The beautiful Tuilleries Gardens are nearby, as is the Orangerie that houses Monet's famous Water Lily paintings.
5. The Latin Quarter
Home of the Sorbonne, the Pantheon, the fabulous Museum of the Middle Ages and the Delacroix Museum, this is the historic, intellectual capital of Paris. The Luxembourg Gardens is a wonderful park in the middle of the city and nearby St. Germain-des-Prés is trendy shopping area full of interesting boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. Da Vinci Code fans should be on the lookout of the church Saint-Sulpice in Saint Germain-des-Pres.
6. Invalides
The Saint Louis des Invalides church houses the final resting place of Napoleon I, and many other of France's military heroes. Nearby is the Musée d'Orsay, the grand museum of the Impressionists, as well as the Rodin Museum exhibiting many of the master's works.
7. The Marias
The Marais is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Paris and its Places des Vosges is a delightful 17th century residential square. The nearby Musée Picasso is a must see (it reopens in summer 2013), as is the Musée Carnavalet focused on the history of Paris. Les Halles ( a modern version of the historic markets of Paris), the amazing Pompidou Center and its modern art, as well as the Stately Hôtel de Ville, the City Hall of Paris are in close proximity. In addition, the Place de la Bastille is nearby, although there is not much to see of importance has survived the passage of time.
8. Montmartre
The scene for countless novels, movies and paintings, Montmartre is another of the popular destinations in Paris. See the famous church Sacre Couer, the artists at the Place du Tertre and, if you are a fan on the can-can, get reservations for the Moulin Rouge.
9. Central Paris
The Place de la Concorde and its famous obelisk was once the site of the guillotine and the executions of many of the royalty during the French Revolution. The Rue Saint-Honoré and the Place de la Madeline are prime shopping areas, as is the Place Vendome with it Grand Column celebrating the Napoleon. See also the beautiful Opéra Garnier as you head for more shopping at the Grand Magasins, including Printemps and the Galeries Lafayette.
10. Père Lachaise Cemetery
It is curious that one of the most interesting attractions in Paris is the Lachaise cemetery. This historic burial grounds is the final resting place of many notable luminaries and is a historical who's who of Paris, its history and the arts. Latin Quarter of Paris
A ten-minute visit to the Latin Quarter of Paris, France. This is a crummy little video that I made as a test (of the camera, of my editing, and of me).
Featured areas include the pedestrian streets that wind through the Latin Quarter (rue de Buci, rue Saint André des Arts, rue de la Huchette, rue de la Harpe, etc.), the place Saint Michel, and parts of the boulevard Saint Michel.

The Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg is a medieval castle located in the commune of Orschwiller in the Bas-Rhin département of France, in the Vosges mountains just west of Sélestat.
It is situated in a strategic location on a rocky spur overlooking the Upper Rhine Plain; as a result it was used by successive powers from the Middle Ages until the Thirty Years' War when it was abandoned.
From 1900 to 1908 it was rebuilt at the behest of the German emperor Wilhelm II. Today it is a major tourist site, attracting more than 500,000 visitors a year.
The Buntsandstein rock was first mentioned as Stophanberch (Staufenberg) in a 774 deed issued by the Frankish king Charlemagne.
Again certified in 854, it was then a possession of the French Basilica of St Denis and the site of a monastery.
After World War I, the French state confiscated the castle in accordance with the 1919 Treaty of Versailles.
It has been listed since 1862 and classified since 1993 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
In 2007, ownership was transferred to the Bas-Rhin département.
Today, it is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the region.
For many years it was considered fashionable in France to sneer at the castle because of its links to the German emperor.
Many considered it to be nothing more than a fairy tale castle similar to Neuschwanstein.
However, in recent years many historians have established that, although it is not a completely accurate reconstruction, it is at least interesting for what it shows about Wilhelm II's romantic nationalist ideas of the past and the architect's work.
Indeed, Bodo Ebhardt restored the castle following a close study of the remaining walls, archives and other fortified castles built at the same period.
Parts of the 1937 film La Grande Illusion by Jean Renoir were shot at Haut-Kœnigsbourg.
A copy of the castle has been built in the Berjaya Hills, 60 km north-east of Kuala Lumpur.
A copy of the historical city of Colmar is located next to it.
