Dunkirk is a coastal city in northern France. The Dunkirk 1940 Museum documents Operation Dynamo, the WWII evacuation of Allied soldiers from the city's beaches.
The waterside Musée Portuaire (Port Museum) has historic ships, including the Duchesse Anne, a 3-masted sailing ship built in 1901. The striking LAAC is a contemporary art museum with a sculpture garden. Resorts line the soft sands of Malo-les-Bains beach.

A Belgian Party!
Pittsburgh and Charleroi are twin cities...but since when?
In Charleroi, no one knows...
And in Pittsburgh, is there anyone who even knows the city of Charleroi?
For those 2 reasons, we would like to restart the twinning of 2011 on the artistic level.
Why 2011?
Because Charleroi is going to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its industrial expo.. from 1911 (today 'Université du Travail' occupies the former exhibition site and the BPS22 space).
Besides, in 2011 our collective artists Les Tetes de l'Art already celebrate their 10 years.
To mark this double anniversary, we'll be in Pittsburgh next year to show our art works and to introduce other artists with the intention to possibly organise a cultural exchange.
However, the Future Tenant Gallery gave us the opportunity to organise, this year, a one shot event so we get the occasion to get acquainted with local artists and some more underground locations.
Therefore, we present a Belgian Party, held on the 3rd of September, 2010.
This event was centered on 4 artworks & held in honour of Chaleroi.
- A sequence, a series, a succession of 3 videos (3 x 15 minutes) titled Dog's vision that will trace the trip of a roaming dog in the industrial suburb of Charleroi, Belgium.
- 25 cl, a tribute to Andy Warhol through a number of serigraphy's / screen printing from one of our national emblem's.
-Wanted, a frieze of notarial posters / signs that show the type printing typography between 1970 and 1986.
- Stick no bills, a wall installation with several weird, strange and odd objects showing social, cultural, sportive, and folkloristic life in the city/ town.
The party wrapped up with Samantha Chope's VJ set (video projection made in Charleroi) & with DJ Udini and his 100% Belgian pop electromusic.
