Pisa is a city in Italy's Tuscany region best known for its iconic Leaning Tower. Already tilting when it was completed in 1372, the 56m white-marble cylinder is the bell tower of the Romanesque, striped-marble cathedral that rises next to it in the Piazza dei Miracoli. Also in the piazza is the Baptistry, whose renowned acoustics are demonstrated by amateur singers daily, and the Caposanto Monumentale cemetery.

Pisa is a city in Tuscany, Central Italy, straddling the Arno just before it empties into the Tyrrhenian Sea. Pisa is the capital city of the Province of Pisa. Although Pisa is known worldwide for its leaning tower (the bell tower of the city's cathedral). The city is also home of the University of Pisa, which has a history going back to the 12th century and also has the mythic Napoleonic Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies as the best sanctioned Superior Graduate Schools in Italy.

While the bell tower of the Cathedral, known as the leaning Tower of Pisa, is the most famous image of the city, it is one of many works of art and architecture in the city's Piazza del Duomo, also known, since the 20th century, as Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), to the north of the old town center. The Piazza del Duomo also houses the Duomo (the Cathedral), the Baptistry and the Campo Santo (the monumental cemetery). The medieval complex includes the above-mentioned four sacred buildings, the hospital and few palaces. All the complex is kept by the Opera (fabrica ecclesiae) della Primaziale Pisana, an old non profit foundation that operates since the building of the Cathedral (1063) to the maintenance of the sacred buildings. The area is framed by medieval walls kept by municipality administration.

Le sculture in pietra che abbelliscono il centro sono cos' gioiosamente eccentriche da risultare grottescamente brutte o, al contrario, splendide: il viaggiatore Thomas Ashe, che visitò Lecce nel corso del XVIII secolo, la definì la città più bella d'Italia, mentre il Marchese Grimaldi, di tutt'altro avviso, dichiarò che la facciata di Santa Croce gli faceva venire in mente l'incubo di un pazzo. La pietra locale, la cosiddetta pietra leccese, in realtà si presta molto alle stravaganze ed anche per questo in città si può distinguere uno stile innovativo, noto come barocco leccese, che fiorì tra il XVI ed il XVIII secolo, un periodo di particolare prosperità e dinamismo culturale. Grazie ai suoi palazzi barocchi ed alle tante piazze che sembrano set cinematografici, Lecce è una città interessantissima da visitare. Nel complesso il centro vanta più di 40 chiese e almeno altrettanti palazzi, la maggior parte dei quali costruiti o rinnovati tra il XVI e la fine del XVIII secolo, che insieme danno vita ad uno dei paesaggi urbani più armoniosi d'Italia. Mr Anthony Tamburri guides this institute with enthusiasm and confidence because he is sure of the central role that the institute plays as a crucial cultural center. Mr Anthony Tamburri, as dean of the institute, fucuses his attention on the cultural exchange between Italy and the USA. An example of cultural exchange can be the translation of same Italian books, such as Terroni written by Pino Aprile, who is a comedian coming from the region of Puglia.
