1. Gaudi Centre ReusReus Antoni Gaudí i Cornet was a Spanish architect from Catalonia. He is the best known practitioner of Catalan Modernism. Gaudí's works have a highly individualized, and one-of-a-kind style. Most are located in Barcelona, including his main work, the church of the Sagrada Família. Gaudí's work was influenced by his passions in life: architecture, nature, and religion. He considered every detail of his creations and integrated into his architecture such crafts as ceramics, stained glass, wrought ironwork forging and carpentry. He also introduced new techniques in the treatment of materials, such as trencadís which used waste ceramic pieces. In the outskirts of Barcelona there's the devil's bridge. Is there even anything interesting about it? At first sight the scenario is quite ugly: flyovers all around, highways, traffic noise. But there IS something about this bridge: in ancient times it was part of Via Augusta, when Spain was a province of the roman empire called Hispania, and this was an important road for commerce. The bridge had a different shape then, and was wide enough to allow bullow carts to cross it.
