Lake Lucerne (German: Vierwaldstättersee) is a lake in central Switzerland and the fourth largest in the country.The lake has a complicated shape, with bends and arms reaching from the city of Lucerne into the mountains.
Seelisberg lies on the eastern slope of a mountain, whose highest point is the Brandegg (1,108 m above sea level. M.). The village is about 400 meters above Lake Lucerne and is the northernmost municipality in Canton Uri.

Another day, another day trip for the two of us. Today we checkout the small village of Seelisberg, as well as the town of Brunnen. The journey from Brunnen to Seelisberg is a pleasant 8 minute ferry ride, followed by an equally short ride up towards Seelisberg by funicular train. Normally we'd hike up, but this time around - we wanted to try this charming little train. The title of the video, simply refers to our continued search for a place to call home. We've been bouncing around the globe for a combined 20 years or so now (14 years for me, and another six for Risa from the moment we met). We are now truly blessed (and grateful to the people of Switzerland) for allowing us to call Switzerland home. In this video, we visit another region where we're considering buying a home.

This is a walking tour from the lion built into the limestone rocks just up the way from the town central. You can arrive in Lucerne by train from nearly anywhere in Switzerland due to a modern rail system.

From the founding of Switzerland to William Tell. Lake Lucerne is the backdrop to the most iconic legends of the Swiss Confederation.
From the founding of Switzerland on the Rütli meadow to the apple pierced by the arrow fired by William Tell, many of the most iconic legends of the Swiss Confederation have one location in common: the wonderful scenery of Lake Lucerne.
Throughout history, thousands of men and women have shaped Switzerland's territory and society. The stories of who they were, the battles, revolutionary ideas or quiet but significant changes have been handed down through generations, and now fill the pages of Swiss history books. The traces of this rich heritage are many, some hidden and unknown.
In this series by Swiss Public Television, RSI, seven places have been chosen that are linked to historical events, myths and legends, that are part of the country's cultural heritage.
The sixth episode of the series visits the Rütli meadow, the place where the oath was sworn between the first three Swiss cantons, and after that, the town square where the legendary William Tell was arrested for not paying tribute to Gessler, the tyrannical governor.
