Bentong Pahang: Trip to The Ginger Town in Malaysia [Small Girl Big World]
Hi everybody, join me in this video to check my trip to Bentong Pahang. Bentong is a small town or district in the state of Pahang in Malaysia. This small town is off international tourist visit chart and only known to local tourist.
To exactly know about Bentong, it is 1 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur and. Heading to Bentong from Kuala Lumpur is exactly in the same direction heading to Genting Highland and you will need to skip the exit of Genting Highlands at Genting Sempah and proceed another 30 minutes drive through the expressway. For reference purpose, from summit of Genting Highlands to Bentong take about 1 hour drive.
Bentong is well known among the local Malaysian for its fresh ginger.
Bentong ginger if compare to other looks thinner but the spiciness and sensation is much higher than other. Ginger is one of the most difficult to grow agriculture commodity as it is only grow at the place not polluted, cool temperature, natural water and mineral. Basically after growing ginger on that plot of land, secondary planting will not able to harvest the similar quality due to the lack of mineral and nutrient.

Just after the Gombak Tol is famous for its Malay Bamboo Rice. Bamboo Rice is a traditional dish of the Malay where the sticky rice is stuffed into the bamboo and the bamboo is grilled.

I just good things to do in Bentong and this Kow Po Ice Cream always appear in my search. Kow Po Ice Cream is famous of its homemade multiple flavor ice cream. Bentong's temperature is around 25~27 Celsius, no wonder people are flocking here to get a bite on the cooling delicacy.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur simply called KL by locals. It is largest city in Malaysia. KL is widely recognised for numerous landmarks, including Petronas Twin Towers (the world’s tallest twin skyscrapers), Petaling Street flea market, and Batu Caves, which is over 400 million years old. Kuala Lumpur has been ranked second by the Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Ranking at Asia after Singapore. UNESCO also have named Kuala Lumpur as World Book Capital 2020.
LOCATION
The city is a Federal Territory, and has an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) which consists of the city center and its surrounding urban areas, managed by the KL City Hall. It also merges with the adjacent satellite cities of Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang, Port Klang, Ampang, Selayang/Rawang, Kajang, Puchong, Sepang, and all in the state of Selangor, Divided into numerous districts, its main hub is called the Golden Triangle which comprises Bukit Bintang, KLCC and Chinatown.
HISTORY
Founded only in 1857 as a tin mining outpost. Kuala Lumpur has grown from a small sleepy Chinese tin-mining village to a bustling metropolis of 7 million in just 150 years.
Kuala Lumpur started to prosper and was made capital of the Federated Malay States in 1896. Malaysia's independence was declared in 1957 in front of huge crowds at what was later named Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), and Kuala Lumpur continued as the new nation's capital.
The economic boom of the 1990s brought KL the standard trappings of a modern city, bristling with skyscrapers and modern transportation systems.
CLIMATE
Kuala Lumpur has a year-round tropical rainforest climate which is warm and sunny, along with abundant rainfall. It can even rain daily during the northeast monsoon season from October to March. Wettest month (with highest rainfall) is November (278mm). Driest month (with lowest rainfall) is June (130mm).
Temperatures tend to remain constant throughout the year and hover between 31~33 °C (max. temperature) and 22~23 °C (min. temperature).
GOVERNMENT
The local administration is carried out by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, an agency under the Federal Territories Ministry of Malaysia. Executive power lies with the mayor in the city hall, who is appointed for three years by the Federal Territories Minister.
The city once held the headquarters of the executive and judicial branches of the federal government as well, but they were moved to Putrajaya in early 1999. Some sections of the judiciary still remain in Kuala Lumpur.
ECONOMY
Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding urban areas form the most industrialised and economically, the fastest growing region in Malaysia.
The city remains as the economic and business centre of the country. Kuala Lumpur is a centre for finance, insurance, real estate, media and the arts of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is rated as an alpha world city, and is the only global city in Malaysia, according to the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC).The infrastructure development in the surrounding areas such as the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at Sepang, the creation of the Multimedia Super Corridor and the expansion of Port Klang further reinforce the economic significance of the city.
Other important economic activities in the city are education and health services. Numerous public and private medical specialist centres and hospitals in the city offer general health services, and a wide range of specialist surgery and treatment that caters to locals and tourists.

Cyberjaya is a town with a science park as the core that forms a key part of the Multimedia Super Corridor in Malaysia. It is located in Sepang District, Selangor. Cyberjaya is adjacent to, and developed along with Putrajaya, Malaysia's new seat of government. This town aspires to be known as the Silicon Valley of Malaysia.
The idea of an IT-themed city, Cyberjaya, arose out of a study by management consultancy McKinsey for the Multimedia Super Corridor commissioned by the Federal Government of Malaysia in 1995. The implementation agency was the Town & Country Planning Department of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government. The catalyst is the agreement by NTT in 1996 to site an R&D center at a site to the west of the new Malaysian administration center, Putrajaya.
Spanning an area of about 28.94 square kilometres (7,000 acres), the town is the nucleus of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), now known as MSC Malaysia. The site for Cyberjaya was primarily undeveloped land consisting of oil palm plantations. It has since seen extensive building activities including a boutique hotel, numerous commercial buildings, offices for MSC Status companies, universities, a community club and the headquarters for the local council.
It was built to be the city of the future, but no goals toward this end have been announced. The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) (formerly MDC), the agency tasked with spearheading the MSC's progress, has its headquarters in the heart of Cyberjaya.
Cyberjaya is planned as an intelligent district with ICT and multimedia industries, R&D centres, a Multimedia University and operational headquarters for multinationals wishing to direct their worldwide manufacturing and trading activities using multimedia technology.This project will be fully owned by the Ministry Of Infrastructure Development under the Smart Nation 2050 initiatives that will help boost local multimedia and technology sector.It will consist of two phases with Phase 1 is slated for completion by 2050 and Phase 2 within the next 5 years . This development will overseen an increase revenue in the technology , multimedia and R&D sector with the total estimate of 470 Billion MYR . YB Tan Sri Iman Rayyan Stated That This Will Not Only Help Local Companies To Be Internationally Recognise but will help Malaysia emerge as one of the worlds leading tech nation with South Korea , United States , Taiwan , Japan and China competing for the top spot.

The city is a Federal Territory, and has an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) which consists of the city center and its surrounding urban areas, managed by the KL City Hall. It also merges with the adjacent satellite cities of Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang, Port Klang, Ampang, Selayang/Rawang, Kajang, Puchong, Sepang, and all in the state of Selangor, (except the new administrative city Putrajaya, also a federal territory) which enclaves KL, and all with their separate local authorities.
The city can be divided into the following areas, each of which offers a particular attraction or activity.
Old City Centre/Old Town (Chinatown) [not to be confused with Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC)] – This is the traditional core of KL where you’ll find the former colonial administrative centre-the Merdeka Square, Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Selangor Club. It also includes Kuala Lumpur’s old Chinese commercial centre which everyone refers to now as Chinatown and wet market turned handicraft centre - Central Market Kuala Lumpur.
Golden Triangle – KL's Central Business District (CBD), to the north-east of the old city centre/old town. This is where you will find Bukit Bintang- KL's premier shopping district, five-star hotels, offices, nightlife, and the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.
Tuanku Abdul Rahman / Chow Kit – This extension of the old city centre/old town is fast regaining its old fame after a decade of slow growth. Located 500 m north of Chinatown and 500 m west to the Petronas Twin Towers, this is the traditional colorful shopping district of Kuala Lumpur north of the city centre that moves into high gear when the festivals of Hari Raya Puasa (Eid ul-Fitr) and Deepavali approach.
Brickfields – This area, located south of the city centre, is Kuala Lumpur’s Little India, filled with saree shops and banana leaf rice restaurants. Kuala Lumpur’s new main railway station, KL Sentral, is located here.
Bangsar and Midvalley – Located south of the city, Bangsar is a popular upmarket dining & nightlife district while Midvalley is one of the city’s most popular shopping malls.
Damansara and Hartamas – Largely suburban, these two districts to the west of the city house some interesting pockets of restaurants and drinking areas.

Arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia (how to arrive) and riding the KLIA Ekspres train to the city center KL Central. We have just arrived on a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok at Kuala Lumpur International Airport KUL Malaysia´s main international airport. This video shows you the viewer (the traveler) a real time view of what it is like to arrive at Kuala Lumpur Airport. The video begins with us (Maxi and Maro) disembarking our flight and walking through the passenger bridge from the aircraft into the Kuala Lumpur Airport Terminal. Once in the terminal we have to find the correct direction to walk so that we can pass Immigration, visit the Baggage Collection Area and pass through customs. We quickly find the arrivals direction we must walk through the airport and on the way we pass some Duty Free Shops and Restaurants before we arrive in the main terminal departure area. From the Terminal Departure Area we find the driver less Kuala Lumpur Airport Shuttle which drives us from the Satellite Terminal to the main Airport Terminal. Kuala Lumpur Airport calls this train shuttle service between terminals the Aerotrain and it takes approximately 2 minutes to drive between the two terminals. Once we arrive in the Main Airport Hall we quickly pass through Immigration after which we make our way to the Airport Baggage Collection Area. Once we have collected our luggage we pass though the Airport Customs area and find ourselves in the Arrivals area where we head over tp one of the currency exchange counters to exchange money before buying our tickets for the KLIA Ekspres (The train between the airport and the city). The KLIA express drives between Kuala Lumpur International and KL Station (the main train station where you can make connections to other trains).

The Kuala Lumpur Tower (Malay: Menara Kuala Lumpur; Chinese: 吉隆坡塔;abbreviated as KL Tower) is a tall tower located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its construction was completed on 1 March 1995. It is used for communication purposes and features an antenna that reaches 421 metres (1,381 feet) and is the 7th tallest freestanding tower in the world. The roof of the pod is at 335 metres (1,099 feet). The rest of the tower below has a stairwell and an elevator to reach the upper area, which also contains a revolving restaurant, providing diners with a panoramic view of the city.
The Petronas Towers, also known as the Petronas Twin Towers (Malay: Menara Petronas, or Menara Berkembar Petronas), are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH)'s official definition and ranking, they were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 and remain the tallest twin towers in the world. Seri Petaling (also known as Bandar Baru Seri Petaling) is a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia. It is located to the south of the city, and located near Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama and Bukit Jalil.

Seri Petaling has easy access to the Government departments in Putrajaya, which is the administrative capital of Malaysia, to Cyberjaya and to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Sepang International Circuit (venue for the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix) is only twenty-five minutes away, Kuala Lumpur city centre, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Damansara and Puchong, is 15 minutes away whereas the Shah Alam is 20 minutes away by modern transport, and the royal town of Klang is 45 minutes away.

Bandar Baru Seri Petaling was first launched in 1977 and developed in 1981.
This suburb was first developed in 1981; before this, they were rubber plantation estates. From the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s it was widely known as the 'rubbish area' as it was the location of a landfill site. Garbage disposal was discontinued and the land it had occupied turned into a playground and car park area for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
The three areas of Seri Petaling that were first developed for residential use were the area of Jalan Puteri Senggang near the main road, Jalan Wan Empok 1 and Jalan Wan Empok 2. In the 1980s, these districts were the main areas of population in Seri Petaling and the houses were sold for between RM40,000 and RM60,000. By 2010, the value of the houses had increased to RM500,000–RM1,000,000 although the area mostly consists of leasehold titles.
The population in Seri Petaling was not high in the early 1980s as it was relatively distant from the city of Kuala Lumpur and a little isolated. The population grew in the late 1980s when two routes of access were opened to neighbouring suburbs; one to Salak Selatan, also known as Salak South, and another to Taman Gembira, or Happy Garden. Over the course of the next decade, development continued and the population grew. In 1997, the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) was opened, allowing people to travel to Subang Jaya in as little as 10 minutes. The opening of the Shah Alam Expressway was one of the reasons for the rapid growth in Seri Petaling. In 2007, Maju Expressway (MEX), a dedicated highway connecting Kuala Lumpur City Center to Putrajaya (national administration city) was opened for commute.
