Other hop-on/hop-off buses do operate in Belfast - but we happened to get this one on the day. Why would you want to do this? Well - its an amazing way to see the city without too much walking (there will still be enough - believe me!). But you can jump off and on at the stops/places you want to see - and drive by others. You get a real feeling for the city and some insight at each stop. Really great value! For tourist or resident!

For tourists - a little more about the city itself - Belfast is the capital and largest city in Northern Ireland. It represents the center of several Irish industries, including linen, tobacco, rope-making and shipbuilding. In the early 20th century, Harland and Wolff, which built the RMS Titanic, was the world's biggest and most productive shipyard. Belfast played an important role in the Industrial Revolution, and was a global industrial center until the second half of the 20th century. It has sustained a major aerospace and missiles industry since the mid 1930s. Industrialization and the inward migration it brought made Belfast Ireland's biggest at the beginning of the 20th century.
Even though the city suffered greatly during the conflict called the Troubles, it has undergone a period of peace and economic and commercial growth.
Even if those different touristic attractions which you have placed on your list of things to do in Belfast could be reached through walking, it is sometimes a different experience to take the hop-on/hop-off bus tour in order to experience the city differently - it could be also a savior if the Irish weather is not helping and there is rain.

Woodvale Park, Belfast - Places To Visit In Northern Ireland
From the beautiful gardens and parks that are located in Belfast, Northern Ireland, there is Woodvale Park with the different greenery scenes that are found inside and always succeed at attracting people to them.
Woodvale Park in Belfast is the home to Woodvale Park Playing Fields. Belfast City Council is the one taking care of the park and it is a Victorian Park with landscape flowerbeds and a bandstand. The park is one of the interesting parks for tourists to visit in the city, but there are also two football pitches, a 7-a-side soccer area, two bowling greens and a pavilion, a children's playground with toddlers play area, an outdoor exercise area, a community garden and a number of allotment plots, which means that it is not just a top attraction park for tourists, but it is also a top attraction place for the local people.
Part of this park was also sold to Belfast Corporation by Reverend Glover in 1888, who lived in Woodvale House, towards the south of the park, near Woodvale Avenue. One of the interesting things to be spotted there is the Peace Tree which won Northern Ireland Tree of the year in 2015 and which is one that people love to check especially after winning this award.
Recently, there was one interesting addition to the place which is a new kids' trail in the park, known as The Elf and Fairy Trail, this trail is set to change the theme over the year, such as a bunny trail for Easter for example. There are lots of interesting things to attract the kids in such trails, such as the activity book which they will fill in. From the core parts of this trail, there is the fairy tree, the dummy tree and the wishing tree. This is now one of the famous attractions in the city that is believed to bring lots of tourists to it, adding just one park to the list of parks to be visited and checked in Belfast city.
We have visited some other parks in Belfast city before and these include Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park which is believed to be one of the most famous in the city ( Colin Glen Forest Park with its famous trail Gruffalo Trail that attracts lots of people and kids to it ( Lagan Valley Park that is also located in Belfast city ( Ormeau Park ( Belvoir Park ( Victoria Park ( Clement Wilson Park ( and lots of other parks scattered all around the city that visitors could go to and check. Northern Ireland is actually believed to be one of the cities with the biggest number of parks and gardens (green areas in general) that people could choose one from to go to, enjoy the green areas and let the kids enjoy their time while playing there.
Belfast, Northern Ireland has almost more than 40 public parks and every single one of them is more beautiful than the other. These different parks and other open spaces are conserved and managed by the Forest of Belfast which is a partnership between the government and some local groups.
One of the most popular parks found in Belfast is the Botanic Gardens in the Queen's Quarter, and then come the other different parks and gardens which we have already stated some of them above. The park coming right after the Botanic Gardens in popularity is Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park which is also visited by lots of tourists and even local people.
Woodvale Park is a traditional City Park which provides a range of passive and active recreation. This park was the fourth public park when it opened back in 1888, and it has been one of the main parks for the people of Greater Shankill Area that it was even due to be called Shankill Park but the name was changed to Woodvale Park in the last minute.
Back when the park was first opened, there was a large pond inside which was used back then by the local people in winter for skating, but it was then changed to a children's play area after the Second World War. This is just a prove for the importance of this park located in Belfast city in Northern Ireland and one reason it stands as one of the top parks that are visited there.

Ulster Museum in Belfast is the place where you can hear the unique story of Northern Ireland, Ireland and beyond through the different exhibitions.
This museum located a short walking distance from Queen's University in Belfast is for all age groups with a variety of history and knowledge for everyone to enjoy. It has something for the art lovers, excited children wanting to learn something new, history buffs and all the just openly curious people out there.
One of the biggest and most popular exhibits in the museum has been the Game of Thrones Tapestry.
It is a giant 77 meter long Bayeux tapestry, giving visitors the chance to walk by it and check this piece of art and everything else that is related to it. This tapestry brings to life the infamous events, locations and story of the most popular television series of all times, it is weaving the story from episodes 1 to 10 and it is designed by hand but weaved by a state-of-the-art machine and hand finished in Northern Ireland.
The Game of Thrones exhibition will be at the Ulster Museum until the 28th of July 2019 so if you are visiting the city and are a big fan of the show, don't miss out!

For this leg Beyer Peacock built class K2 loco, 2-6-0 no. 461 was in charge with the RPSI's set of Cravens coaches and BR Mk1 gen van. With the Rosslare to Waterford line out of commission the tour's passengers were bused from Rosslare to Waterford and the coaching stock transferred to Waterford via Dublin with GM 071 class no. 076 hauling.

More info about travel to Belfast: A cab is the best way to tour Belfast's sectarian neighborhoods and their gripping political murals. Just west of downtown, Falls Road (Catholic) and the Shankhill Road (Protestant) are two well-known areas. And your ride can come with an education; for a reasonable hourly fee, many cabbies give visitors impromptu tours that will give you insights into the Troubles, a conflict that is thankfully much less volatile than it has been in the past.

Street Art on Great Victoria Street Belfast
I have just stumbled upon this example of street art down on our 'Golden Mile', -Belfast's Great Victoria Street. I thought it was worth preserving for posterity. I think the guy in the baseball hat with the beard is Forrest Gump running across America but i don't recognise the other two. Anyone?
Belfast Tour.
We tour the beautiful and historis city of Belfast in Northern Ireland. We visit historical places of interest such as Queen's University and City Hall. We also visit the Shankill and Falls Roads of the city and see some of the political murals in the various communities.We also see where some of the troubles in previous years have taken place including the Europa Hotel which is the most bombed hotel in Europe. These days Belfast is the second safest city in the world after Tokyo. It is also the friendliest, politest and most cheerful city that I have visited. The city's amazing people help make it what it is. I cannot wait to go back soon.

En este vídeo visitamos Belfast, la capital de Irlanda del Norte, en el que fue el día que nos tocó más la fibra de nuestro viaje de una semana por Irlanda.
Por la mañana conocemos la situación económica de Belfast a principios del siglo XX a través de la visita al Museo Titanic, situado justo en el astillero de Harland and Wolff donde fue construido.
Por la tarde, saltamos hasta finales del siglo XX.
Hace tan solo 20 años no era seguro visitar Belfast.
Conocemos uno de los mayores conflictos en la historia reciente de Europa: The Troubles. Recorremos el muro que separa católicos y protestantes por Falls Road y Shankill Road de la mano de dos exprisioneros que nos cuentan las dos caras de la historia.
El turista visita los lugares. El viajero además necesita entenderlos para hacerlos un poco más suyos y llevarse un pedacito de ellos en su corazón.
