Solarino is a comune in the Province of Syracuse, Sicily . It is about 190 kilometres southeast of Palermo and about 15 kilometres west of Syracuse. As of 31 December 2006, it had a population of 7,365 and an area of 13.01 square kilometres .Solarino borders the following municipalities: Floridia, Palazzolo Acreide, Priolo Gargallo, Syracuse, Sortino.

Clips from the 2011 Sicily vacation. Incredibly beautiful place, fantastic food and pleasant weather. We were there just before the major tourist season so there was no crowd, not even at Taormina which is the legendary Sicilian must-see hot spot. We highly recommend a trip to Etna and visiting the mainland via Messina city. Also pizza, ice cream (especially pistachio flavour) and ricotta filled cannoli are really something you should invest in.
