An Spidéal is village on the shore of Galway Bay in County Galway, Ireland. It is 18 km west of Galway city, on the R336 road. An Spidéal is on the the eastern side of the county's Gaeltacht and of the Connemara region. It is a centre for tourism with a scenic beach, harbour and shore fishing.

    Galway Bay is a large bay on the west coast of Ireland, between County Galway in the province of Connacht to the north and the Burren in County Clare in the province of Munster to the south. Galway city is located on the northeast side of the bay. It is about 50 kilometres long and from 10 kilometres to 30 kilometres in breadth. The Aran Islands are to the west across the entrance and there are numerous small islands within the bay. The approaches to the bay between the Aran Islands and the mainland are as follows: the North Sound lies between Inishmore and Leitir Mealláin in Connemara; known as Bealach Locha Lurgan in Irish.
