Aurach bei Kitzbühel war schon in frühchristlicher Zeit eine Ortschaft und bekannt durch seinen Kupferbergbau. Dieser wurde 1926 eingestellt. 1365 wird die Pfarrkirche erbaut, 1427 zum heiligen Rupert geweiht. Die Passionsfresken an der Außenwand stammen aus der Zeit um 1440 und stellen die Stationen Ölberg, Geißelung, Dornenkrönung, Kreuztragung, Kreuzigung, Beweinung und Auferstehung dar. Die Statue des St. Rupert im Inneren stammt aus der Spätgotik (1480).
Der Kirchturm mit Zwiebelhaube, wodurch die Pfarrkirche weit bekannt ist, wurde erst 1663 bis 1664 durch Mauermeister Hans Eggensberger aus Kitzbühel errrichtet und 1770 wurde die Kirche durch Andre Hueber barockisiert. Heute eine sehr beliebte Hochzeitskirche in Tirol.
Aurach liegt über der Pass Thurn Straße unterhalb des beliebten Sonnbergs. Rosis Sonnberg Stubn ist in den vergangenen Jahren zu einem In Lokal geworden, das aber durch glänzenden Service und beste Qualität begeistern kann. Die Aussicht auf Kitzbühel ist wunderbar.

Aurach near Kitzbuehel was already a village in early Christianity and known for its copper mining. This was discontinued in 1929.
In 1365 the parish church was built, consecrated to St. Rupert in 1427. The Passion frescoes on the outside wall date back to around 1440, depicting the stations of the Mount of Olives, flagellation, the crown of thorns, the crucifixion, the crucifixion, the mourning and the resurrection. Statue of Saint Rupert inside is from Late Gothic (1480). The church tower with onion hood, which makes the parish church widely known, was erected only in 1663 to 1664 by bricklayer Hans Eggensberger from Kitzbühel. In 1770, the church was baroque by Andre Hueber. Today a very popular wedding church in Tyrol.
Aurach is located above the Pass Thurnstrasse below the popular Sonnberg. Rosis Sonnberg Stubn has become an in-house in the past few years, but this can excite through brilliant service and best quality. The view over Kitzbühel is wonderful.

I start this part of my journey just outside Eichfeld, a village of just under 900 inhabitants continuing on to Gosdorf, Diepersdorf, Fluttendorf, Weixelbaum and Unterpurkla where I leave the Austrian Bundestrasse 69 to join the B66 heading north. I had been on the B69, also called the Südsteirische Grenz Straße, for some time and appreciated the wonderful views of the Karawanken mountains that it offered.
The B66 is the Gleichenberger Straße. This road is 42.9 km long and runs from Ilz in the Valley of Feistritzwerke to Bad Gleichenberg. In this journey I take only a short part of this journey.
South of Bad Gleichenberg I turn right passing through Bairisch Kölldorf which I note is a very attractive village. From there I pass through Kapfenstein heading north, through Mahrensdorf and Fehring until I join Austrian Bundestrasse 57 towards Jennersdorf on the Gussinger Strasse at the same time as passing over the border between the provinces of Styria and Burgenland.

However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

Eröffnung Natur- und Jagdmuseum Mariazell am 14. September 2013
Am 14. September 2013 wurde das neue Natur- und Jagdmuseum im Mariazeller Heimathaus eröffnet.
Bei der offiziellen Eröffnungsfeier am Samstag nahmen zahlreiche Ehrengäste teil. Unter großem Medienandrang konnte der Mariazeller Bürgermeister Josef Kuss u. a. den Präsidenten der Wirtschaftskammer Dr. Christoph Leitl, den Landesjägermeister DI Heinz Gach, die beiden steirischen Landesräte Johann Seitinger und Siegfried Schrittwieser, den Malteser-Botschafter und Mentor des Jagdemuseums Prof. Dr. Günther Granser (dem bei der Eröffnung übrigens das goldene Verdienstzeichen der Landesjägerschaft verliehen wurde), den Landtagspräsidenten von Niederösterreich Ing. Hans Penz sowie zahlreiche Sponsoren aus der Wirtschaft begrüßen.
