5. Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas
It is a vertical-lift bridge over the Garonne in Bordeaux. As of 2013, it is the longest vertical-lift bridge in Europe.
It is named in honour of Jacques Chaban-Delmas, a former Prime Minister of France and a former mayor of Bordeaux.
4. Place de la Bourse
It is one of the most recognizable sights of Bordeaux. It was built from 1730 to 1775.
In the original plan, there was a statue of King Louis XV. However, the statue was destroyed during the French Revolution.
3. Pont de Pierre
The Pont de pierre, or Stone Bridge in English, is a bridge in Bordeaux.
Connects the left bank of the Garonne River (cours Victor Hugo) to the right bank quartier de la Bastide (Avenue Thiers).
2. Cité du Vin
It is a museum as well as a place of exhibitions, shows, movie projections and academic seminars on the theme of wine.
Its official opening by the President of France François Hollande took place on May 31, 2016.

Thiers Jetty is where you go to catch most of the boat tours to other islands. It's also the central part of Tourist section of Arcachon. You can watch the sunset from here. There is usually live music in the evening in summertime.
It's a jetty that sticks out into the sea from the land. The beach between this and the other jetty is a beautiful sandy affair, if not a tad small. However this jetty and the beach and the promenade are all very nice to walk around.

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

More than a million people have been buried at Père Lachaise, and its tombs are among the most artistic and varied that you'll find anywhere. It's also a quiet, pleasant place for a stroll or a rest—if you don't mind being surrounded by dead bodies.
This video shows how to reach the cemetery, and shows examples of some of the many varied tombs within. It also shows a random handful of celebrity tombs, and a selection of memorial monuments. It's not an inventory of famous dead people or funereal art, just a sampler of what you can see at the cemetery—enough to show why it is such a popular tourist destination.
