Valentano is a town and comune of the province of Viterbo, in the Lazio region of central Italy. It is 33 kilometres from the provincial capital, Viterbo. The placename is of uncertain origin. Some identify the town with an Etruscan Verentum, others trace the name to ontano, Italian for alder, since alders cover the slopes of a nearby valley: Valle Ontano becoming Valentano.

Lake Bolsena of central Italy, is a lake of volcanic and tectonic origin. Roman historic records indicate activity of the Vulsini volcano occurred as recently as 104 BC; it has been dormant since then. The two islands in the southern part of the lake were formed by underwater eruptions following the collapse that created the depression. The lake is supplied entirely from the aquifer, rainfall and runoff, with one outlet at the southern end. A sewage treatment plant filters most of the raw sewage from the surrounding communities. Constructed in 1996, it features pipelines transporting the sewage from every major community around the lake to the treatment plant on the Marta River; that is, no effluents enter the lake. Marta, provincia di Viterbo, Lazio, Italia.
E' un comune con poco più di 3500 abitanti situato a 315 metri s.l.m. sulla sponda meridionale del lago di Bolsena e dista dal capoluogo circa 24 km. Il santuario della Madonna del Monte si trova su un colle a poca distanza dall'abitato di Marta. Anticamente era custodito dai monaci Benedettini, i quali, forse nel XII secolo, lasciarono il convento, che cadde in rovina. La comunità di Marta però era devota all'immagine di Maria custodita nella chiesa e nel 1460 riedificò dalle fondamenta sia la chiesa che il convento. In seguito il figlio di Ranuccio Farnese, Pietro, commissionò l'erezione della facciata e quasi un secolo dopo il convento tornava ad essere abitato con i padri Minimi di San Francesco di Paola, che presero in custodia il Santuario. Il 14 maggio di ogni anno il Santuario diventa la meta della Festa dedicata alla Madonna del Monte, a cui il popolo martano rende omaggio con i frutti del proprio lavoro mediante le famose Passate.

L'Abbazia dei Santi Severo e Martirio ,chiamata comunemente La Badia si trova a pochi minuti da Orvieto.L'Abbazia risale alla fine del secolo VI .All'interno del complesso la chiesa originaria del XII secolo,a navata unica con altare in pietra. Una torre merlata edificata nel 1003 su commissione della Contessa Matilde di Canossa.Nel complesso regna un silenzio interrotto dal canto di uccelli e rumore delle fronde.
