Grottes de BetharramSaint Pe De Bigorre The Grottes de Bétharram are a series of French caves located at the border of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées departments and of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie regions. Located near Asson, Lestelle-Bétharram and Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre, they offer a threeway discovery: by foot, by boat and finally, by train, the key to similar cave formation. On Sunday June 9th, I felt transported to the South of France--exquisite food, French wines & a swing band delighted the fortunate few on a boat cruise around Manhattan. This was the kick off event of the month long Sud de France Festival which takes over NYC in the month of June. We dined aboard The Water Table, NYC's floating restaurant, and the chef, cocktail artisan & sommelier from the famed Estela, prepared a delightful 4 course meal with interpretations of the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
