Villa Carlos Paz is a city in the center-north of the province of Córdoba, Argentina, in the south of the Punilla Valley, lying on the western slope of the Sierras Chicas. It has a population of about 56,000 as per the 2001 census [INDEC]. The area of Punilla is a major tourist destination on the national level, and Villa Carlos Paz is in turn the most important city of Punilla, favoured by its closeness to the populous Córdoba City, the capital of the province. Popular tourist activities include bathing in one of the many rivers, fishing, evening shows, kite surfing, windsurfing, hiking and mountain biking.

The San Roque Lake is a reservoir in the province of Córdoba, Argentina. It was created by the damming of several rivers, especially the Suquía and the Cosquín. It is located next to the city of Villa Carlos Paz, about 600 m above mean sea level. It has a surface area of 16 km², an average depth of 16 m, and a maximum volume of 180 million m³. The dam was initially built to provide fresh water for the capital and its surroundings. It was designed in 1884 by the engineering firm of Cassaffousth, Bialet Massé and Dumesnil, finished in 1886, and inaugurated officially in 1890. Two years later the dam was suffering from a complete lack of maintenance, however, and a political scandal erupted. Córdoba is a city located in the geographical center of Argentina, in the foothills of the Sierras Chicas on the Suquía River, about 700 km northwest of Buenos Aires.

I drove to the city of Cordoba, along the way I enjoyed the open country side and open space of this amazing nation.

Passeio rápido pela cidade de Córdoba, Argentina.

Córdoba é a segunda cidade mais populosa da Argentina e capital da província homônima. Fica 713 quilómetros ao noroeste de Buenos Aires e é a segunda maior cidade do país. A terceira é Rosário seguida por San Miguel de Tucuman.

A cidade possui vários pontos históricos, turísticos e culturais de grande importância. La Cañada de Córdoba é a parte de canalização de um córrego que atravessa a cidade de norte a sul. O Arco de Córdoba é um importante símbolo da cultura localizado na entrada da Avenida Amadeo Sabattini. Em 2000, a UNESCO declarou a Manzana Jesuítica como Patrimônio Mundial da Humanidade e, em 2006, a cidade foi nomeada Capital Americana da Cultura naquele respectivo ano. Córdoba protagonizou vários feitos de muita relevância na História argentina durante o século XX. Foi o centro da Reforma Universitária de 1918, da Industrialização a partir de 1930, da Revolução Libertadora em 1955 e do Cordobazo, um movimento que culminou na queda do governo de Juan Carlos Onganía em 1969.

Visitando Candonga en Córdoba, Argentina #TravelTips

A pocos kilómetros de la capital cordobesa encontramos una perla de las Sierras Chicas: Candonga; nombre que significa Vieja Mula que no sirve para tiro.
En este pequeño poblado serrano cordobés encontramos la pintoresca Capilla de Candonga, el Molino, la Estancia y el Campanario.
Lugar de visita turística para un fin de semana de relajación y conexión con la naturaleza.
En este espacio encontramos la posada con pileta, la huerta de la estancia, la capilla con el pequeño museo y campanario, y sobre todo mucha paz.

Recomendable para una visita a pasar el día si están en Córdoba, o escaparse un fin de semana si quieren desenchufarse de la rutina.
