The Vosges (French pronunciation: ​[voʒ] or [voːʒ] are a range of low mountains in eastern France, near its border with Germany. Together with the Palatine Forest to the north on the German side of the border, they form a single geomorphological unit and low mountain range of around 8,000 km2 in area. It runs in a north-northeast direction from the Burgundian Gate to the Börrstadt Basin , and forms the western boundary of the Upper Rhine Plain. The Grand Ballon is the highest peak at 1,424 m , followed by the Storkenkopf , and the Hohneck .

    The Théâtre du peuple is a theater located in Bussang, France, built in 1895 by Maurice Pottecher.The theatre was added to the list of historical monuments in 1975 and is always in activity, putting on a new performance each year. Performances take place on every Sunday of July and August. The Théâtre du peuple is constructed entirely of wood and can seat up to 1,200 people. The Théâtre du peuple was the first people's theatre to be established in France after the Revolution. Originally it was an open-air theatre, in which Pottecher staged folk and morality plays, often performed by locals in dialect.
