Yachats is a small coastal city in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States. According to Oregon Geographic Names, the name comes from the Siletz language and means dark water at the foot of the mountain. There is a range of differing etymologies, however. William Bright says the name comes from the Alsea placename yáx̣ayky . At the 2010 census, the city's population was 690. In 2007, Budget Travel magazine named Yachats one of the Ten Coolest Small Towns of the U.S.A., and Yachats was chosen among the top 10 U.S. up-and-coming vacation destinations by Virtualtourist. Nature Attractions In Yachats

1. Devil's Churn Yachats
Devils Churn is a narrow inlet of the Pacific Ocean in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States, south of Yachats. It is located in the Siuslaw National Forest and is accessible via the Restless Waters trail from the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area visitor's center or the U.S. Route 101 overlook. Access to the trail requires a United States Forest Service pass. The inlet developed over many thousands of years as wave action carved into the basalt shoreline, first forming a deep sea cave whose roof eventually collapsed. As the tide comes in it can throw spray several hundred feet into the air when the waves reach the end of the churn. Visitors are urged to be cautious when visiting the churn as it can be dangerous.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium is an aquarium in Newport in the US state of Oregon. Opened in 1992, the facility sits on 23 acres along Yaquina Bay near the Pacific Ocean. The aquarium was home to Keiko, the orca who starred in the movie Free Willy, from January 1996 until September 9, 1998, when he was shipped to Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland. USA Today considers the Oregon Coast Aquarium world-class and Coastal Living magazine ranks it among the top ten aquariums in North America.

Exploring Samuel H Boardman - Oregon (amazing place!!!)

On an impulse decision, I decided to make a 12hr road trip from Los Angeles, California to Samuel H Boardman scenic corridor in Oregon. Made a couple stops along the way too.
Samuel H Boardman is a 13 mile stretch of road along the oregon coast that has some of the most amazing coastal views and scenery, definitely a top travel destination to add on your list.
