Jordan River Utah Temple, Jordan, Utah, USA - Crystal Fountains
The beautifully white tiled Jordan River Temple is located in the southern Salt Lake Valley, Utah. It is the 20th operating temple of “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” which was built with a modern design in 1979. After more than three decades of service, the temple was temporarily closed for an extensive renovation in 2016 and reopened in the spring of 2018 with a new attractive exterior feature. At the entrance of the temple, visitors are greeted with a striking water fountain that carries Crystal's two masterpiece effects, the Cascade and Plume Jets. While the Cascade Jet generates an eruption of foamy white aerated water which falls heavily in a conical pattern and creates sound effects, the Plume Jet produces a long and slender column of water which evolves into a soft plume effect at its peak level creates this intriguing feature. With Crystal’s innovative and custom LED lights, the fountain was illuminated with soothing warmer white providing a relaxing ambiance for the visitors of this beautiful spiritual landmark.

WIZARD OF OZ REVIEWS
Utah Theatre Bloggers:
“While Hale Centre is promoting the show as starring local singing celebrity Lexi Walker, my guest and I had the privilege of seeing her understudy, Ava Hoekstra. Hoekstra was stupendous as Dorothy, with regards to both singing and acting. The script only has two solos for Dorothy throughout the performance: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and the reprise of that same beloved song. Fortunately, Hoekstra delivered a remarkable rendition and a memorable performance of the song with grace and with an absolutely beautiful voice. To match her amazing vocals, Hoekstra delivered a unique yet familiar performance of Dorothy Gale. While homages to Judy Garland were subtly present in the performance, Hoekstra also convincingly portrayed Dorothy with the air and vulnerability of the adolescent she is supposed to be (12-years-old in the original book). This talented 8th grader delivered a great performance—and certainly one I won’t forget.”
Gephart Daily
“The cast is top notch. Ava Hoekstra, as Dorothy Gale, opened the run, with Lexi Mae Walker also starring in the role.”
The Davis Clipper
“The Wizard of Oz” is now playing at Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy through Feb. 2. It opened last week for a series of more than 75 performances, most of them already sold out. Playing the lead of Dorothy Hale is SONY recording artist and YouTube star Lexi Walker, but her understudy and the actress I saw perform in the lead was Ava Hoekstra, a teenage superstar in her own right. And the cast has the audience hooked form the gitgo in this amazing, colorful production.
FYI from patron:
Well done, cast and crew!

I was talking to Lisa in ticketing today, telling her how much we enjoyed watching Ava Hoekstra in Wizard of Oz last Wednesday evening. What an amazing actress with a beyond belief voice. We were amazed to find out when we looked her up afterwards, online, that she is thirteen- her performance was beyond her years and would be admirable for anyone with many more years , training, and experience behind them! Please tell her what a delightful performance that was and how much we enjoyed every bit of it! We were delighted with the talents of everyone else (and Toto) too. The witches (good and bad), the Lion, Tinman, and Scarecrow were all just perfect! Well done to the rest of the cast and production crew! It takes all of you and we appreciate and are amazed with each wonderful performance. We are so lucky to have this marvelous performing center staffed with such talent in Salt Lake. (By the way, Kelly De Hahn did his usual unbelievable job as musical director. )
Thank you to each one of you for so many wonderful evenings and memorable experiences!

Church & State - Official Trailer
Opening August 10th via Blue Fox Entertainment
Church & State is the improbable story of a brash, inexperienced gay activist and a tiny Salt Lake City law firm that joined forces to topple Utah’s gay marriage ban.
The film’s ride on the bumpy road to equality in Utah offers a glimpse at the Mormon church’s influence in state politics and the squabbles inside the gay community that nearly derailed a chance to make history.
Church & State is a story of triumph, setback and a little-known lawsuit that should have failed, but instead paved the way for a U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized gay unions nationwide.

Lyrics:
Dizzy
You're cynical and beautiful
You always make a scene
You're monochrome delerious
You're nothing that you seem
I'm drownin' in your vanity
Your laugh is a disease
You're dirty and you're sweet
You know you're everything to me
Everything you are
Falls from the sky like a star
Everything you are
Whatever ever you want
I wanna kick at the machine
That made you piss away you dreams
And tear at your defenses
'Til there's nothing there but me
You're angry when you're beautiful
Your love is such a tease
I'm drowning in your dizzy noise
I wanna feel you scream
Everything you are
Falls from the sky like a star
Everything you are
Whatever ever you want
Everything you are
Falls from the sky like a star
Everything you are
Whatever ever you want
Everything you are
Whatever ever you want
Whatever ever you want
Whatever ever you want
