Lantau Peak ascent, Lantau Island, Hong Kong, China
A very steep ascent of Lantau Peak, the second highest peak in Hong Kong. The views from this mountain are stunning which is why it is so popular with the locals.

After bathing in the lights of the city, we headed to the outlying islands of Hong Kong. This is just one of them. This is Lantau Island! In the sweltering humidity we stood in awe of the Big Buddha which is the largest sitting Buddha in the world (as if we didn't already feel small and humbled) but what really took our breath away wasn't (surprisingly) our lack of exercise after climbing all those steps to the top, it was surrounding area. The mountains, the endless sea, it was unlike anything we've ever seen before and we understood in that moment why so many people love it here and never leave. Check out the city and shop until you drop, but the real gem is getting lost on those trails!

Lantau Peak - EP2 Drone & Phone - HK's 5 best walks
There’s an easy and a hard way to ascend Hong Kong’s second tallest peak. I opted for the cable car that gets you half way. After a quick stop in Ngong Ping to see the Big Buddha statue, it’s a steep two-hour climb up for lunch at the top of the mountain. Allow time to take in the panoramic sweeping coastal views. There are paths in every direction for the walk home. A long path through to Mui Wo, a southern route past the Shek Pik reservoir to Tung Wan or a shortcut back to Tung Chung. With the cable car not starting before 10AM you will need to be fast to take the longer routes.
Start at the cable car from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping. Walk through the village past the Big Buddha and onto the wisdom path until you see signs for the peak. From there continue along the Lantau trail until you reach Tung Chung road where you can get a bus back to Tung Chung.
Sections 10, 11 & 12 of the Lantau Trail
In the fifth and final episode on the Lantau trail we take on sections 10,11 and 12 in a 20 km hike. A long flat walk high above Hong Kong’s longest beach. A dramatic final stretch up and over a peninsula to finish off the Lantau trail. Beaches, waterfalls, forests and of course the cows.
Lantau Peak/Hike/Hong Kong
Lantau Peak or Fung Wong Shan (Chinese: 鳳凰山, literally Phoenix Mountain) is the second highest peak in Hong Kong and the highest point on Lantau Island, with a height of 934 metres (3,064 ft) above sea level.

Hong Kong Vlog 1 ???????? Man Cheung Po Infinity Pool Hike! Hike with us on Lantau Island!
Hi y'all! Back again with another Man Cheung Po infinity pool hike, where we go to Lan Tau Island, Tai O to hike the famous infinity pool! Straight after some hearty breakfast at Teawood hehe. I think this is a good beginners/intermediate hike, and we were hardcore and did this on our first full day in HK jetlag and all (on 6 hours sleep) so props to us amiright?! It was so much fun doing it as a group, we spurred each other on and helped take some beautiful candids (which is all that matters.. for the grams). I absolutely love this spot, it's so peaceful and you get to see not just that incredible sunset, infinity pool and mountains but also a waterfall behind you, just stunning! Remember to check out my previous Man Cheung Po vlog if you haven't seen it yet! We have a few more hikes coming up if you like this kinda thing! it's so great to have the best of both worlds in countries like these, where you've got the city life and the nature - can't ask for more!

South Lantau Loop – beaches, a dam & a long mountain bike ride
Starting at the Chi Ma Wan ferry pier this ride begins with a windy road through small villages and up onto the south Lantau road. Following the coast you will cycle along Hong Kong's longest beach and then up into the hills to the spectacular Shek Pik reservoir. From there you join section 10 of the Lantau trail which has been adapted into a mountain bike trail. The relatively flat concrete path follows the contours of the mountains all the way back to Pui O where you can return to the Chi Ma Wan ferry or choose to tackle Nam Shan mountain for a more direct route back to Mui Wo.
Sections 1 & 2 of the Lantau Trail
In the first of a new series covering the much overlooked Lantau Long Trail we take on sections one and two. Sections one is a simple road walk from Mui Wo up to Nam Shan. Here you leave the road and start a long climb up to Sunset peak on section two before descending down to the Tung Chung road.
The 70 km Lantau trail takes you on a loop from Mui Wo West over Sunset and Lantau peaks before a ridge walk to Tai O. From there you follow the coast around the south of the island back to Mui Wo.

We started the day on a ferry to get to Lantau Island. It was a beautiful morning to go for a bus ride. Once, on the island, we took a long bus ride up to the big Buddha, Tian Tan. It’s located in the village of Ngong Ping which was disappointingly very commercialized.
After checking on the Temple (Po Lin Monastery) and climbing to the top, we then took another bus down the mountain to the quaint fishing village of Tai O. This place was amazing! It’s very traditional. We walked around, ate a lot of snacks and enjoyed the scenery.
Afterwards, we went back to Hong Kong to meet up with my Aunt and Uncle who just flew in from their holiday in The Philippines and enjoyed a luxury hot pot dinner on the 20-something floor of a high rise in Wan Chai. The grind was awesome!
Then we finished the night back in Mong Kok for some of my nephews favorite fruit juices. In all, a full and great day!

2016 ZEROGRAM Classic in Lantau Trail of Hong Kong
Thru-hiking of the Lantau Trail 70km.
Climbing Lantau Peak (Hong Kong)
In this video I'll be heading to the largest island in Hong Kong (Lantau Island) to hike section 3 of the Lantau Trail. And the highlight of this hike is climbing to the summit of the second highest mountain in all of Hong Kong, Lantau Peak. Soaring to a height of 934 meters (3,064 feet), this mountain looms over the island and offers a fitting challenge to day hikers and serious trekkers alike. From the summit, one is treated to fantastic views of the seas and lesser peaks of Lantau as well as a glimpse of Ngong Ping village to the north. On the way down I'll pass through Ngong Ping and stop by the Wisdom Walk and even stand in the shadow of the massive Tian Tan Big Buddha.
