Reclaiming Historic Fairfax Mill in Valley Alabama
Our most unique video yet shows the reclaiming process in a whole new light. The quality of timber and bricks isn't what it use to be in the 1800's and early 1900's and there is high demand for that type of quality. That's where Southend Reclaimed comes in, they specialize in reclaiming old timber and bricks for beautiful homes. We would like to thank the Cobb Memorial Archives in Valley Alabama for providing us with the historic images from the mill. *Please watch in the highest resolution and in full screen*

The Moffat Tunnel is a railroad and water tunnel that cuts through the Continental Divide in north-central Colorado. Named after Colorado railroad pioneer David Moffat, the tunnel's first railroad traffic passed through in February 1928.
The Moffat Tunnel finally provided Denver with a western link through the Continental Divide, as both Cheyenne, Wyoming, to the north and Pueblo to the south already enjoyed rail access to the West Coast. It follows the right-of-way laid out by Moffat in 1902 while he was seeking a better and shorter route from Denver to Salt Lake City. The water tunnel and the railroad tunnel parallel each other; the water tunnel delivers a portion of Denver's water supply.

Union Pacific 844 75th anniversary Slideshow with a little surprise at the end
I want to use the photos the my parents took before the 4014 came to Nebraska and I was taking pictures and videotaping. I want to use this song to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Union Pacific 844. The Big Boy videos will be next after the next video with a little surprise at the end. Here is some history of the 844.
History of the Union Pacific 844
In December of 1944 The American Locomotive Company of Schenectady, New York built the last steam engine for the Union Pacific Railroad, the Union Pacific 844.
Not only the 844 is the last engine of Union Pacific but also the last locomotive to be build in the third series because the Union Pacific had different FEF types, for example the first series is the FEF-1 were delivered in 1937, the numbers are from 800-819 then there is the second series, the FEF-2s, were delivered in 1939, the numbers are 820-834, and there is the FEF-3s which they were delivered in 1944, and the numbers are 835-844. The Union Pacific 844 were designed to maintain speeds up to 120 mph. It pulled passenger trains in the Midwest until 1957 when it was reassigned to freight service in Nebraska until 1959 (diesels took over passenger service). In 1960 it was used as and snow melting experiment engine (along with Challenger 3710). Since then, it was never retired, it was saved from being scrapped, and it is used for excursions. From 1962-1989 it was renumbered as the 8444 because the Union Pacific had ordered GP30s from EMD that are numbered in the 800 series, one of them is 844 and then in 1989 the GP30 was retired and now we have the 844 number which we have today. UP 844 also moved freight duties on ferry moves. The Union Pacific 844 burned oil throughout its life. It originally burned coal but it could cause grass fires and too expensive so now it burns oil. The 844 burned 6,200 gallons of No.5 oil and 23,500 gallons of water. Since 1960 it ran hundreds of thousands of miles as Union Pacific’s publicity locomotive. Since from that year to the present it pulled the Cheyenne Frontier Days Special from Cheyenne to Denver, Colorado then back to Cheyenne, Wyoming. It appeared in Expo ‘74 in Spokane, Washington. In 1978 it went to Ogden, Utah for the dedication of the Utah State Railroad Museum. In 1981 it went to Sacramento, California for the opening of the California State Railroad Museums in that year it was joined by Challenger 3985 after its restoration. In 1984 the locomotive traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana for the 1984 World’s Fair. In 1987 the UP Steam people painted the engine in a two tone gray paint scheme. In 1989 it traveled to Los Angeles for the 50th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, when it performed a side- by-side run with Southern Pacific 4449. The two engines raced each other up Cajon Pass on Southern Pacific and Santa Fe’s tracks. On February 14, 1975 it pulled Amtrak’s San Francisco Zephyr with a pair of EMD SDP40Fs from Denver Colorado to Cheyenne, Wyoming. On the weekend of October 14, 1990, the engine led a procession of special trains from Kansas City Union Station to Abilene, Kansas for the World War 2 veterans to celebrate the 100th birthday of U.S. president Dwight D Eisenhower. The special is called the “Eisenhower Centennial Special.” In 1991 the locomotive and challenger 3985 returned to Sacramento, California for Railfair 91. In 1992 the locomotive had a major overhaul. The overhaul went from 1992 to 1996. In 1999 the locomotive and 3985 returned once again traveled to Sacramento, California for
Railfair 99. The locomotiv e had suffered a tube failure while on display, after returning from California the decision was to redo the entire firebox structure and cab which the locomotive was out of service from 1999-2005. In 2007, 844 joined Southern Pacific 4449 for the “Puget Sound Excursion.” In 2012 the engine is used to celebrate 150 years of the Union Pacific Railroad (1862-2012) and it went to Sacramento California, which the California State Railroad Muesum hosted the UP 150 celebration and during the event the locomotive’s tender derailed on a tightly curved track from the mainline to the museum. In 2013 the locomotive is taken out of service for boiler work to have a change in the water treatment that same the bolts that hold the Mars light which it was installed in 1946 were failing so it had to be removed. The overhaul on the locomotive went from 2014-2016. On June 16, 2016 the locomotive was test fired and completed on June 17, 2016. In July it pulled the Cheyenne Frontier Day’s train from Cheyenne to Denver and then back to Cheyenne, Wyoming. In October the engine pulled the “Trek to Tennessee Special” to Tennessee. This is the first major trip for the newly restored locomotive.
So enjoy the special and enjoy seeing the surprise at the end.

Patti Fiasco - I should know (Live) What Fest - Cody, Wyoming (By Levi Wells)
What Fest - Cody, Wyoming (By Levi Wells - Audio By Will Ross)
The Patti Fiasco formed in November of 2008 when five strangers, born to wolves and raised by outlaws, congregated over amber shots of whiskey in Laramie, Wyoming's infamous, Buckhorn Bar. The five drew dollars like pistols from their pockets (Alysia, from a holstered skirt), and drowned their libations in strange synchronization. Coincidence has denied responsibility for the band's formation, and instead points a crooked finger at Fate. Since, they've been composing original tunes as restless, wild, and sweet-hearted as their respective histories, all the while touring across the Wild West. Backed by demand from their steadfast local following, The Patti Fiasco's five song demo, No Bridges, will be released this Spring. The Wyoming quintet, featuring Encampment's Alysia Kraft, vocals, guitar; Star Valley's Dee Tyler, vocals, lead guitar; Lander's Scott Clabby, drums; Cheyenne's Niles Mishke, bass; is known for making crowds shake a leg and shake a room with their moon howling, fast riding, train robbing tunes. The Patti Fiasco is the wild-eyed love child of Loretta Lynn and the Sundance Kid... or are they more like Alice Cooper after a good piece of cake? Though their swagger is decidedly Western, their music is not so simply nailed down. Kraft marries the lyric sensibility of a seasoned folk singer with the intensity and showmanship of hair metal at its meanest. Tyler drives sweet-hearted melodies like runaway trucks. If your songs were your children, you'd want them growing up with drummer, Scott Clabby-- each one handled with diligence, sensitivity, and fun, feisty wit. Bassist Niles Mishke, the envy of any band demanding both versatility and flair, never leaves the funk at home. Frequent appearances by lap steel virtuoso Ansel Foxley (Lonesome Traveler, Glovetrucker), and showcase banjo from long-time friend Dennis 'Abe' Abramson round off the listening delight. Regardless of classification, The Patti Fiasco is damn fine band boasting a unique sound and live performances that expertly balance intimacy and explosion. Get 'em while they're hot, or wait a second until they're burning down the house.
