U.S. Senate: Impeachment Trial (Day 9)
The Senate impeachment trial of President Trump continues as Senators ask House impeachment managers and the President’s defense team questions.
Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 30, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
House impeachment managers and President Trump’s lawyers have concluded their opening arguments in the Senate. The impeachment trial is now in the question period for both sides, when senators submit questions in writing to Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. The chief justice will read questions out loud, alternating between the majority and minority for up to eight hours.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.

Somewhere in the Skies - Episode 05: Ruben Uriarte: UFOs Over Mexico and the Southwest
Episode Summary: Ryan introduces us to a UFO sighting that occurred in 2004 in which the Mexican Air Force reported eleven UFOs during a routine patrol flight. Infrared cameras mounted on the plane were able to capture the UFOs. Radio transmissions and an official report given to the Mexican Secretary of Defense made this a very intriguing case that received very little attention in the United States.
The UFO topic is often seen through very western eyes within the United States. But many extraordinary cases have occurred both on the southwestern border and through the skies and grounds of Mexico. And one individual who has looked extensively into these cases is Ruben Uriarte. In this episode, he and Ryan discuss the strange case known as the Cisco Grove incident, in which a UFO witness spent an entire night fighting off an entire fleet of alien humanoids and a robot-looking being. Ruben also speaks of the 1975 Carlos de los Santos case in which a pilot encountered three saucer-shaped UFOs surrounding his plane. They end the conversation talking about a lesser known UFO crash over the town of Coyame in which a mid-air collision supposedly took place between a conventional plane and an unknown aircraft.
Guest Bio: Ruben Jose Uriarte graduated from Cal State University at Hayward/East Bay with a B.A. degree in Psychology and Latin American Studies. Ruben is a member of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) as a Field Investigator, State MUFON Director for Northern California and Deputy Director of Investigations/International Affairs. Ruben has been involved with a large network of research organizations and served as a California State Coordinator for Crop Circle Phenomena Research International. He was a former research director for Beyond Boundaries, a company specializing in taking tour groups to various UFO hotspots around the world. Ruben currently serves as a board member for OPUS (Organization for Paranormal and Support Understanding). He as authored a number of books, co-written with Texas UFO researcher Noe Torres, about major UFO crashes and other historical cases that have occurred along the Southwestern United States borders and Mexico. A WWII Widow Found Her Husband's Normandy Resting Place 60 Years After He Vanished
Peggy Seale was born in the '20s in Vernon, Texas. When she turned 18, she wanted to do something to help during the war, and she got a job at the Altus Oklahoma Air Force Base. There, she worked as an electrical instrument mechanic and was the only female mechanic on the base. She met the assistant supervisor in the propeller department, and he told her about his son Billie. He wanted the two to meet because he believed that they would really hit it off. Billie was based at Brooks Air Field, where he was training as an Army Air Corp
Peggy was shy, so she wasn't sure about reaching out to a stranger. Since Billie lived so far away from Peggy, he wrote her a letter. Peggy responded, and the two started sending each other letters regularly. It wasn't long before their friendly letters turned romantic. The two courted for months before Billie asked Peggy to marry her. She said yes, and the two were married on September 22, 1943. The couple didn't have any money, so they didn't have the money to buy wedding rings. Peggy gave Billie her Vernon High School class ring instead.
After the wedding, Peggy and Billie planned to take a honeymoon during his two-week leave. Unfortunately, a ship carrying American pilots was destroyed in a torpedo attack, so Billy was called to war. He was now a fully trained second lieutenant, and he was needed. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Billie was needed more than ever.
When Billie's group was called to war, the men and their wives were taken to a hotel in Tallahassee. When it was time for the men to leave, the wives were told to go home. They were also told not to tell anyone that their husbands had been sent overseas until they arrived there safely.
Billie made it to Europe safely, but she was devastated when she received a telegram claiming that her husband was missing in action. At this time, she was living in Colorado. She could no longer handle working on the airbase. She was working there one day while Billie was overseas, and she took out the instrument panel of a plane that someone was killed in. When she saw the dried blood on the panel, Peggy decided that she just couldn't do it anymore. This was when she moved to Colorado.
After she received the first telegram about her husband, she received different information from the U.S. Supreme Headquarters in Allied France. The military release claimed that Billie Harris was on leave, and had returned to the United States. Peggy and Billie's father hadn't heard from him, but it gave Peggy hope. Sadly, it was false hope.
When Peggy tried to get answers, she was told that Billie was likely being processed. Peggy and Billie's family assumed that he was in a United States hospital, possibly without his memory. Peggy heard stories like this before, and she was willing to believe anything if it meant that Billie was alive somewhere.
She began making inquiries with the International Red Cross. Unfortunately, they weren't willing to open a full investigation. When new details emerged, the information often contradicted things that she already heard. One report said that Billie was missing in action; one said that he had been killed, then she would get another missing in action report again. Peggy refused to give up on her husband. Even as late as 2005, Peggy was getting information that Billie was missing in action. This is what she was told when she reached out to her congressman, Rep. Mac Thornberry.
Rep. Thornberry didn't conduct a basic search of the National Archives and later apologized for mishandling the case. When Billie's cousin, Alton Harvey, requested files from the Department of the Army, a red flag was raised. Six months earlier, a Frenchwoman requested the same records. Everyone wondered why she did this.
Billie's file stated that he was posted to southeast England, where he was assigned to the 355th Fighter Squadron. He flew daily missions, and they led to him being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and two Air Medals with 11 oak leaf clusters. After completing hundreds of missions, he earned his ticket home in July 1944. He wrote to Peggy, giving her the good news. The ship he was assigned to was full to capacity to treat the wounded. Since Billie couldn't go home just yet, he continued flying missions. Sadly, he was shot down over the woods in Les Ventes, in northern France. He died in the crash, and the townspeople had been honoring his memory ever since. This was the hometown of the Frenchwoman who requested his files in 2004. She was looking for information on Billie to hold the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Les Ventes. He was even buried there, but the people believed that he was Canadian.
Peggy found out that Billie crashed his damaged plane away from the town to keep from injuring people. He could have ejected from the plane, but he didn't so he could save the lives of so many others. The people of Las Ventes never forgot his sacrifice.
Why Finland And Denmark Are Happier Than The U.S.
What does it take to be happy? The Nordic countries seem to have it all figured out. Finland and Denmark have consistently topped the United Nations’ most prestigious index, The World Happiness Report, in all six areas of life satisfaction: income, healthy life expectancy, social support, freedom, trust and generosity.
Learn more about work-life balance secrets from the happiest countries in the world on CNBC Make It:
Each year, a group of happiness experts from around the globe rank 156 countries based on how “happy” citizens are, and they publish their findings in the World Happiness Report. Happiness might seem like an elusive concept to quantify, but there is a science to it.
When researchers talk about “happiness,” they’re referring to “satisfaction with the way one’s life is going,” Jeff Sachs, co-creator of the World Happiness Report and a professor at Columbia University, tells CNBC Make It.
“It’s not primarily a measure of whether one laughed or smiled yesterday, but how one feels about the course of one’s life,” he says.
Since the report began in 2012, Nordic countries — which include Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, plus the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Aland — consistently turn up at the top of the list. (The United States, on the other hand, typically lands somewhere around 18th or 19th place.)

Safest Cities During the Zombie Apocalypse
From Isolated Islands, to the some surprisingly populated places, these are the SAFEST Cities During the Zombie Apocalypse !
Subscribe to American Eye
5. Carcassonne, France
If you’re somewhere in France and the zombie apocalypse strikes, consider coming to the city of Carcassonne, located in Southwestern France. The medieval, Cite de Carcassonne, will become the perfect stronghold for fighting off hordes of the undead. This was once a thriving trading post, that’s fortified with over 50 towers and the walls can reach about 30 feet high. Being Unesco world heritage site, it is still in great condition to this day. Equipped with a drawbridge, the people inside can decide who they want to let in. Even against looters during the apocalypse, this fortification could prove to be extremely effective. There’s also plenty of space outside the cities walls for farming, but just be careful.
4. Montreal, Canada
One of the more populated areas on this list, Montreal is surrounded by water and if they spent enough time, they could barricade the entries into the city. Mount Royal, located on the heart of the island makes for a great lookout location to spot potential brain eaters or for a place to hide out from the infected. Since there’s quite a bit of snow in Canada, all the snow plows can be converted into zombie killing machines. Canadians don’t own guns but there should be no shortage of hockey sticks to swing at the undead. Hockey gear like the gloves and masks might prove to be useful equipment while fighting them off Certainly once winter hits, the zombies won’t be able to handle the cold weather and simply freeze, although there is some debate to this theory. Keep Montreal as an option when relocating but be sure to keep practicing your French. You won’t have any problems finding maple syrup which has an extremely long shelf, and should give you a little extra energy for swinging your melee weapong of choice, making it a great food for the apocalypse .
3. Valletta, Malta
The fact that the city of Valletta is already on an island is a great start After being invaded many times by numerous different people, the island of Malta has an extensive number of fortifications. Here you can find walled fortress, citadels, forts, towers, redoubts and pillboxes. The strategic location has made it desired by many different powers, and if zombies decide to come in, there will be an extremely large number of fortified places to hide. Here we see Fort Manoel, built by the knights of Saint John. It was slightly damaged during world war II but restored and back in fighting condition. Every strategic location of this city is fortified with, including St. Andrew’s Bastion. At the very tip of the harbor, stands Fort St Elmo, with withstood siege by the Ottomans for 28 days
2. Longyearbyen
Longyearbyen is the world’s most northern city and they certainly seem to be ready for the apocalypse! Located within the Arctic Circle, if you can withstand the cold, this place maybe completely untouched by the zombie apocalypse due to it’s isolation. The residents here are well trained with firearms since they have to deal with relentless polar bears quite often. If they can fight off polar bears, they should be able to fight off zombies should be able to fight off zombies… should. The Island of Svalbard is also where you’ll find the global seed vault, which houses a large variety and quantity of seeds that could potentially restore food supplies. The seeds are stored here in case of an event like the apocalypse and the island could become quite wealthy from the barter system.
And number 1 but first, some honorable mentions.
Boston, Massachusetts for its high concentration of microbiologists, making it likely to find a cure there. Cheyenne Wyoming, for it being in a desolate region, with one of the lowest amount of people per capita, in the United States. Virginia beach for it being well equipped for defense and a heavy military presence. And Tristan de Cunha for its complete isolation
Denver, Colorado
Making your escape to the Rockie Mountains almost seems like sure fire bet in escaping the zombie apocalypse for numerous reasons. Being a mile high above sea level will make it quite difficult for zombies trying to creep up on this city. While densely populated cities will spread the virus quickly, Denver is well spread out, with many people living in nearby suburbs. It would takes months for the virus to possibly spread to Rockie mountains, which is some of the most difficult terrain to navigate in North America. Once you’ve made it to Denver and stocked up on supplies, you can consider heading west to places even more secluded like Aspen and overtake a skiing cabin to hideout. With many large houses that will likely have plenty of supplies, and plenty of trees, you’ll find yourself quite a few resources to start fires and plenty of wildlife to hunt for food.
Where To Buy Cbd Oil Near Me

Cannabidiol-- CBD-- is a cannabis substance that has considerable medical benefits, but does not make individuals feel stoned and can really neutralize the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychedelic than THC-dominant stress makes it an attractive alternative for patients searching for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting sensations of sleepiness or dysphoria.
Scientific and medical research study-- much of it sponsored by the US government-- highlights CBD's prospective as a treatment for a large range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, alcohol addiction, MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD, anxiety, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrable neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer residential or commercial properties are currently being examined at numerous scholastic proving ground in the United States and somewhere else.
Project CBD reacts to inquiries from all over the world. Practically everyone would like to know where to get CBD-rich items and the best ways to use them for maximum advantage.
After years where just high-THC cannabis was readily available in North America and beyond, CBD-rich stress and items are now readily available to medical users.
CBD-rich versus CBD dominant: By CBD-rich, we indicate a cannabis strain or item that has equivalent amounts of CBD and THC, or more CBD than THC (normally at least 4 percent CBD by dry weight.). By CBD-dominant, we indicate stress or items that are CBD-rich but have little THC content.
In the spring of 1998, the British government accredited a company called GW Pharmaceuticals to grow cannabis and establish an accurate and constant extract for usage in medical trials. GW's co-founder Geoffrey Man, MD, was convinced-- and had convinced the Home Office-- that by utilizing CBD-rich plants, GW might produce a cannabis-based medication with little or no psychedelic impact.
That summer Man explained his technique at a meeting of the International Cannabinoid Research study Society (ICRS).
Learn more on Google Sheets:
In addition to countering the psychoactivity of THC, Man said, CBD conferred benefits of its own. GW got its CBD-rich stress by obtaining the hereditary library of HortaPharm, a Dutch seed company run by American migrant horticulturists, David Watson and Robert Clarke.
CBD-rich cannabis has a long history of being used to treat health issue. Queen Victoria used CBD-rich cannabis for menstrual cramps in the 19th century. Animal studies had long suggested that CBD minimizes anxiety and minimizes the intensity and frequency of seizures. However, up till a few years earlier, CBD-rich stress were typically not readily available to cannabis users in California and other areas. Generations of reproducing cannabis for maximum THC and a strong high had decreased the CBD to trace amounts in most cannabis stress in Northern California, America's cannabis breadbasket.

Dr. Tod Mikuriya, creator of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, revealed hope that our Burbanks in the hills of Northern California would establish CBD-rich stress if and when analytic laboratories started serving the medical cannabis industry.
As the years passed, more and more appealing clinical studies involving CBD were explained at meetings of the ICRS, the International Association for Cannabinoid Medication, and Patients From Time. Some California doctors kept abreast of the research study and O'Shaughnessy's reported on it, but we were simply observers, not individuals, till the fall of 2009, when Oakland's Steep Hill Lab evaluated cannabis samples offered by Harborside University hospital and found a few stress with more CBD than THC.
Eventually, numerous dozen laboratories in medical cannabis states were calibrating cannabinoid ratios and identifying the periodic CBD-rich strain.
For data collection functions, we initially specified CBD-rich as 4% or more by dry weight. In addition to balanced stress with approximately equivalent amounts of CBD and THC, a handful of CBD-dominant stress-- with 20-to-1 CBD: THC ratios or higher were discovered,
cultivating a cottage industry of CBD-rich focuses, oil extracts, and other CBD-rich items.
CBD is the predominant cannabinoid in hemp-- cannabis grown for fiber or growing in the wild. Traditionally, plants grown for hashish in the Kush included THC and CBD in equivalent procedure. However in recent times in the United States and somewhere else, cannabis genetics changed to accommodate a grassroots need for high THC content. Subsequently, CBD practically disappeared from the grassroots gene pool in Northern
