The Drive To Taos, New Mexico
Sights seen along the route from Santa Fe to Taos. About an 80 mile drive or a little more than an hour drive. One is basically driving up the Rio Grande valley to get there. A very scenic drive. Mainly on State Highway 68. Well worth the time.

Hi, I am Carolyn, RVrebel Girl. I have been traveling in the midwest area, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and my birth state of Illinois. I headed south to Florida then stopped in East Tennessee and now I am in the Southwest. I belong to Boondockers Welcome which allows me to camp for free at some unique places like 100Aker Woods in East Tennessee and The Grove.
I travel solo with my 4 legged family companion Danni. She is a 1 1/12 year old Morkie between 4.5-5 pounds looking for K9 ❤️ Love on the road.
We are retired because life is too short and tomorrow is not promised, so Im not gonna put off till tomorrow what Im healthy enough to do today.
Please join me on my travels. I am a part time RV’r, still need the home base to nest cuz the RV isn’t big enough for all my cowgirl boots and my cloths, but I am workin on it.
This fall and winter will be great! I will once again head towards the RTR in Quartzsite Az to meet up hopefully with RV and Van dwellers like Caravan Carolyn, Wandering Jimmy, Panda Monium (Ausia), and Schooner Bird.

The desert was vast and lonely, the perfect place to be alone and plan out the next step in life. The best moments were those spent alone, free……… running into the sunset across a blank relentless deserted landscape with similar emotions that complemented the chemistry of my mind for the past few months. Trying to make something out of nothing.
As the fall season started, I ended my journey in Santa Fe NM with a quick new construction job that lasted 6 weeks. Soon starting a small business for myself painting and fixing houses on the side. It was the first time in forever that I figured how to make $$ and not have to work as hard with other employees I had come to hire. I learned that a mans best asset is the skills and knowledge he learns through life experiences. To take risk’s and leave the situation you were in before for something better. (Even Started Trading My Extra $$$ In The Stock Market) And that’s just some of the things I learned. To set yourself free, you have to learn from your experiences. Any way how, it doesn’t matter how you do it. Just remember Freedom doesn’t have a purpose.
I guess that hard part for us all is to get ourselves to just go and do it……..

New Mexico Moving Map Taos
Here we see several tools working together in FSX. Intro made by user Revoltic - check it out and help those nice guys :) with likes, abos and more!
Plane - RealAir Duke
Scenery - MegaSceneryEarth New Mexico (Area of Las Vegas, NM - Taos, NM - Angle Fire, NM)
Weather - FSGlobalRealWeather live (2014-09-26 09:53 Z and earlier)
Moving Map - BlueSkyScenery Moving Map
FSX window mode without border - FSX Borderless and deactivate in FSX-General Settings the pause on task switch (see an example here:
Life recording - Bandicam highest setting
Nvidia driver - 344.11-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql
The life weather had only one degree Celsius difference between temperature and dew point (where clouds form) and so we had the typical rising fog during the one hour flight forming low level stratus. The weather program captured it just fine and if you like to try it out for yourself, you perhaps can get it in the archive from FSGlobalRealWeather and save it for later. This was the first time I was able to do a flight under low level stratus clouds.
At the end of the phantastic flight I captured a longer video sequence overflying Taos where I stayed for a whole week 19 years ago. The scene came out very good. From there I tested the moving map and used only it for navigating to Angle Fire Airport. It is spot on and although the weather was with clouds down to the airport and low visibility I came out very good aligned to the runway. I did the flight with autopilot and mouse only, the cessna yoke, throttle and pedals were disconnected because I just wanted to check out the reinstall of the scenery and the new Technam demo.
For me the new driver worked very well, even though I messed up my FSX.cfg during reinstalling the scenery by hitting the adust scenery settings button and trying out FSPS - FSX Fiber Accelerator also. During flying the view seemed more fluid than during seeing the video. I have FSX on my D:partition, not the best place but more safe in case I would have to reset the computer. The Bandicam files were put on my desktop on the C:partition. So that was not a clever combination, sending the video files to an external drive, which was connected, would have been better I guess.
The moving map also showed the real weather (using radar data) and was giving a good extra level of detail. To record FSX and the moving map together Bandicam one has to use the [Rectangle on a screen] mode for screen recording. The [DirectX/OpenGL window] mode would only show FSX. For moving map and FSX to work together in FSX the pause on task switch has to be deactivated.
