MODERNIZED Otis Traction Elevators at U.S. Bancorp Tower, Portland, OR
These are located in the 2nd tallest building in Portland, and the state of Oregon. These used to be Otis Lexan Elevonic 401 Elevators, but last year Monitor TR (Trash and Rape Company) ruined these. The cabs look nice now, but the mod sucks and it took away the nice 80's character of the elevator away. These elevators are still somewhat fun to ride because of the speed, but other than that, the mod sucks, and I'd take the Lexan anyday. Good news is that the parking deck elevators are still original and at least the call buttons on floor P of these elevators are still intact.

List of tallest buildings in Portland, Oregon
This list of tallest buildings in Portland, Oregon ranks skyscrapers in the U.S. city of Portland, Oregon. The tallest building in Portland is currently the 41-story Wells Fargo Center, which rises 546 feet. The building has been the tallest skyscraper in the State of Oregon since its completion in 1972. The second-tallest building in Portland is the US Bancorp Tower, which rises 536 feet and 42 floors. The building is sometimes informally referred to as 'Big Pink' for its similarly colored granite exterior.
Portland's history of skyscrapers is generally thought to begin in 1907 with the completion of the Wells Fargo Building. Since then, over 100 highrise buildings have been constructed in the city, with the majority being completed between 1970 and 2000. No Portland buildings are among the tallest in the United States, but the city is home to four buildings over 500 feet. Overall, Portland's skyline is ranked tall second in the Northwest, fifth in the Pacific Coast region, and 25th in the United States.
The city is undergoing an era of highrise construction, especially in the South Waterfront area, where several residential towers and an office building have been built over the past few years, including the John Ross Tower. More residential buildings will be built close to the Willamette River as development of the South Waterfront progresses. Meanwhile, in Downtown Portland, Park Avenue West Tower, a 30-story skyscraper, restarted construction in 2012 and is now almost completed. At 501 feet, Park Avenue West will become the fourth-tallest building in the city upon completion.
This list ranks Portland skyscrapers that stand at least 250 feet tall, based on standard height measurement. This includes spires and architectural details but does not include antenna masts. An equal sign following a rank indicates the same height between two or more buildings. The 'Year' column indicates the year in which a building was completed.
This lists skyscrapers that are under construction in Portland and planned to rise over 250 feet.
* Table entries without text indicate that information regarding building dates of completion has not yet been released.
This lists buildings that once held the title of tallest building in Portland.
The 194-foot height of the 1892 Oregonian Building includes a corner tower with two floors of office space and a clock in the uppermost portion. The Wells Fargo Building was the tallest building in 1907–1911 only if this tower is excluded from the Oregonian Building's measurement.
A. ^ New York has 206 existing and under construction buildings over 500 ft, Chicago has 107, Miami has 37, Houston has 30, Los Angeles has 22, San Francisco has 22, Dallas has 19, Atlanta has 19, Las Vegas has 17, Boston has 16, Seattle has 18, Philadelphia has 10, Pittsburgh has 10, Jersey City has 9, Minneapolis has 9, Denver has 8, Detroit has 7, Charlotte has 6 and Columbus has 5. Cleveland, New Orleans, and Tulsa each have 4. Source of Skyline ranking information: SkyscraperPage.com: New York, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Boston, Seattle, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Jersey City, Minneapolis, Denver, Detroit, Charlotte, Columbus, Tulsa, Cleveland, New Orleans, and Tampa. Portland is tied with Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Kansas City with three buildings over 500 feet.

Ohio National Bank (early 1900s)
167 S. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215
Owner: East Broad Plaza LLC
One of the finest examples of neo-classical architecture in downtown Columbus, the original home of Ohio National Bank (c 1914) stands at High and Town streets – a testament to a time when financial institutions first began to prosper along High Street. Ohio National Bank was acquired by National City Corporation and this branch was closed in 1999. Still listed in good condition by the auditor, the building has an even more impressive interior. Inside this gem, a breathtaking marble-enshrined banking lobby displays the quality craftsmanship of its era, conjuring a sense of the lives and dollars that flowed through this building way back when. Just off to the side of the remarkable banking lobby is an impressive vault.
Despite signage indicating its availability for lease, the Ohio National Bank building has been vacant for almost 20 years and is showing signs of deterioration and water damage. As downtown continues its remarkable resurrection as a mixed-use urban core, this property and other low-rise historic adjacent properties are threatened with development of larger buildings with broader footplates and streamlined (lesser) architectural detail. However, and despite the importance of encouraging further infill of downtown’s southern flank, it is even more important to retain this magnificent architectural jewel. Doing so will anchor the future of downtown in line with its rich and storied past.

Wreck of the Portland - Discovery
Over a decade before great ships like the Titanic were cruising the Atlantic, side-wheel steamers like the Portland were the pride of their respective fleets. The ships had a reliability advantage over sailing vessels and were the state-of-the-art luxury transportation of the time. On Thanksgiving weekend in November of 1898, the steamer Portland with 192 aboard, left Boston Harbor headed for Portland, Maine... but ran straight into a monstrous storm moving up the coast. The steamers were extremely unstable in high seas and the Portland was never seen again until its wreck was first located in 1989 and then, an expedition in 2002, using remotely operated vehicles, confirmed that it was indeed the Portland. Working with the Discovery Channel and David Clark Productions, Home Run Pictures produced 90 seconds of animation visualizing what scientist believe may have been the fate of the Portland. The steamer's long, narrow shape and shallow draft probably caused its crew to loose control in the rough seas... so they could not keep the steamer's bow pointing into the oncoming waves. Imagery of the wreck shows the top deck was ripped off... possibly by a rogue wave.

Plunderathon is an annual pirate-themed festival in Portland, Oregon, United States that usually coincides with Fleet Week or the Rose Festival. Plunderathon is run by a group calling itself the Infernal Order of Pirates, Buccaneers, Scallywags, and Privateers that prides itself on a heavy disinformation campaign leading up to the event, often issuing press statements that flatly contradict previous ones and making historical claims of Plunderathons from over a century ago. Throughout the event, the designated historian will often be called upon to recite the history of the Order in exchange for rum, which he or she does by making it up on the spot and claiming authenticity.
Plunderathon is not tied to any venue or location, but is a mobile combination of a parade, bar crawl and public art spectacle very similar to the CacophonySociety's SantaCon.
Participants dress up as pirates, make ships out of shopping carts and parade through town for around 10 hours, mostly in the Old Town/Chinatown, Downtown and Vaseline Alley areas. Costumes range from cheap party store items to high-quality theatrical costumes. The 2006 Plunderathon had over 120 pirates and featured a treasure chest-shaped pinata that was full of condoms and a beanbag fight (called cannonball fight) in the North Park Blocks. They also visited the Shanghai tunnels, walked completely through Powell's Books, the Pearl District, pushed the ship/cart through the US Bancorp Tower and blocked traffic on several downtown streets while moving from one place to another in long single-file lines.
The new Plunderathon logo, released on their website in January 2008, states the elements of the logo are: A skull with mugs tilted away from the center, handles upward, in the place of eyesockets. Rum bottles tilted together take the place of nasal passages, crossed unadorned bones lie behind the skull. In a circle around the skull and crossed bones, from the lower left end of the cross to the lower right, is the text the Infernal Order of Pirates, Buccaneers, Scallywags, Privateers and Grocery Store Clerks. Under the cross is the text Est. 1843 for the year of the first Plunderathon. As long as these elements exist and nothing is added to it, the logo is used to identify those who have participated in Plunderathon. Pirates who have split from Plunderathon and gone out on their own omit the text the Infernal Order of Pirates, Buccaneers, Scallywags, Privateers and Grocery Store Clerks but retain Est. 1843 out of respect for their roots.
The 2007 Plunderathon was a record-setting 250 Pirates in size overall (though at any one point numbers topped out at 180) and featured a compressed-air cannon that shot sex toys, chocolate coin and small toys at passers by, as well as a large rubber band war and an invasion of the Pride Festival. The Portland pirate rock band Sunken Chest played a rock'n set at the Ash Street Saloon. The flagship for 2007 was the H.M.S. Venture (named after the Adult Swim cartoon The Venture Bros., which replaced the 2006 flagship, the H.M.S. Birdman). The Venture was the first flagship to survive a Plunderathon intact. Another ship, the Flaming Molly, was shanghaied before the end of the event and its wreckage was found in Old Town a week later, next to a chocolate shop.
Plunderathon has been featured in The Oregonian's Culturepulp comic as well as local newspapers such as The Portland Mercury, The Daily Oregonian, and the Willamette Week. The event is adults-only and event organizers have threatened on their blog to call child protective services on any parent who brings kids to the event.
