30 of the Most Terrifying Haunted Places around the World
30 of the Most Terrifying Haunted Places around the World
--------------------
1. Monte Cristo Homestead, New South Wales, Australia
most haunted places in the world
Considering the amount of tragic and violent deaths that have occurred here, it’s little wonder that this is viewed as Australia’s most haunted locale. Several people have died sudden, accidental deaths, while others have been murdered, leading to high paranormal activity throughout the estate, making it one of Australia’s truly scary places.
2. Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa
scary places
Active since the early 20th century, various apparitions reported include a man who walks the ramparts and a dog that jumps on passersby. The most interesting story involves the ghost of a woman seen running through the complex crying, and finally disappeared when excavations uncovered a woman’s body. What is the most haunted place in the world? Any list must start with this particular edifice.
3. The Tower of London, London, England
most haunted places on earth
Once of the most terrifying places on Earth dating back to 1078, this fortress/royal palace has had plenty of time to garner some paranormal activity. Famous ghosts seen here include the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn, along with Lady Jane Grey and two princes believed to have been murdered by their uncle, Richard III, in 1483.
4. The Ancient Ram Inn, Gloucestershire, England
scariest places in the world
What could be more terrifying than the prospect of satanic sacrifices and malevolent entities? This 12th century inn exhibits all of this and more. Its owner even testifies that the first evening he spent in the house, he was snatched out of bed and dragged across the room by some invisible entity. It sure looks quaint, but don’t be fooled by one of the scariest places in the world.
5. Banff Springs Hotel, Alberta, Canada
what is the most haunted place in the world
This major historic hotel is home to several different spirits, some kindly, and others rather more unnerving. A regularly sighted spirit is that of a former bellman who helps with guests’ luggage. Other such visitors include a bride seen dancing in the ballroom and the ghosts of a murdered family. DC Comics fans may notice it resembels the fictional Arkham Asylum, and as such, is one of the creepiest places in the world.
6. Chateau de Brissac, Maine-et-Loire, France
creepiest places in the world
Dating back to the 11th century, this beautiful castle was the site of a horrific double murder, resulting in the haunting of the castle by the Lady in Green. Wearing a green dress, and her face that of a rotting corpse, wanders through the castle moaning.
7. Island of the Dolls, Xochimilco, Mexico
scary places on earth
In the ‘50s, a man moved to this island in order to be alone, only to find that it was haunted by the spirit of a little girl who drowned here decades before. In an attempt to appease her, he bought countless dolls and hung them from the trees. After a while, he felt that she wasn’t satisfied, and that she wanted him to be a ghost with her. The same day he confessed this fear to a relative, he was found dead, having drowned in the same spot she did years before. Their ghosts can now be seen on the island, and the dolls are said to whisper as you walk past and definitely making this island one of the scary places on Earth.
8. The Sallie House, Atchison, Kansas, United States
scary places on earth
Named after the prankish little girl who haunted it, this house also contained a far more malevolent spirit of a woman who escalated so much in violence towards the male owner of the house that he and his family finally moved out of fear for his life – as one would if they lived in the world’s most haunted places.
9. McMenamin’s White Eagle Saloon, Portland, Oregon, United States
most terrifying places on earth
When it comes to the physical effects of hauntings, this century-old hotel and bar warrants heavy attention. Many guests have reported waking up in the night and being unable to leave their beds, as if held down, as well as being shoved down the stairs, making it Oregon’s contribution to the list of haunted places around the world.

Kenneth Ray Henry Jr.
A Celebration of Life
Kenneth Ray Henry, Jr. (1982-2012) was born in Portland, Oregon on August 2, 1982 to Dollie Ann Maxwell and Kenneth Ray Henry, Sr.
As a child, Ray had the opportunity to attend different elementary schools while his family traveled in the Military. He later attended school in Portland, Oregon at Binnsmead Middle School, and was a 2000 graduate of Franklin High School. Ray later enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country for three and a half years.
Ray had a love for the camera. As a photographer, he captured life distilled, expressive faces and fleeting moments and conveyed, in a way no words could, a sense of the mystery and beauty of life. This gift was not just used for family, but Ray spent several Sundays sharing his gift and capturing memories with his camera, as well as videotaping services, for Living Faith Christian Center. This was just one way Ray expressed himself and showed others love.
One thing rings true and stands out in the hearts and minds of all Ray's family and friends; and that is he was LOYAL. When you think of loyalty, you think about Ray's commitment and love toward everyone he knew. Ray had such a love for others that he was considered a best friend to all. His love was always expressed with an I Love You before leaving your presence. It wasn't just in Ray's words that family and friends knew he loved them, but it was also the many sacrifices he would make for them, even when he wasn't in a position to do so. It was always about others.
Ray was a protector. Many would say over protective. Yet they all welcomed it because they knew he was this way simply because he cared. No matter where you were, he needed to know you were okay. He would often set time aside, regardless to what he was doing, to provide instruction and plant a positive seed into those that were younger than him. Ray would often state the phrase, I can give you a fish or teach you how to fish. He was a full package, so what more could you ask for in a person? Oh yeah, a sense of humor!!! Ray had that too! He could be both funny and sarcastic. There would be times you were upset with Ray and moments later he would have you cracking up from something silly he said or did. Certainly, if you took a minute to reflect, even you would remember a time or two when Ray's humor or practical jokes made you laugh until you were in tears. Hmmm we won't mention any names, but I believe someone in here may have had an encounter with the hair removing product Nair.
We'll miss everything about Ray. But, if he could speak now he'd simply say BUENO, (i.e. everything is A-OK), and I'm with those that preceded me: aunt Juanita Maxwell, my cousin Day'Shawndo Maxwell, Jr. and my grandfather Walter Maxwell, Sr.
Though Ray is no longer with us, he remains in our hearts and leaves many memories to be cherished by his: children: Kenneth Ray Henry, III and Kennedy Rayven Henry, as well as those children he cared for as if they were his own: Josiah Nettles, Jaden Nettles and Brooklyn Cojoe-Green; his children's mothers: Jazminn Cojoe and Nicollette Nettles; parents: Dollie Ann Williams and Kenneth Ray Henry, Sr.; brother: Staff Sergeant Andre Goss; sisters: Sharlita Henry and Kanaesha Henry; grandparents: Darlene Ross, Katherine & Lenell Mitchell; nieces: Breeana Eagle, Kamara Preston, and Nirai Rist; nephew: Kayden Goss; uncles & aunts: Richard Maxwell, Walter Allen Maxwell, Walter Lee Maxwell, Jr., Marcus Williams, Lisa Williams, Janet Maxwell & Trenette Allen, God-brother: Jamariee' Johnson and a host of other relatives and close friends.
