Wildcat Branch Falls
Wildcat falls is also called wildcat wayside falls because the first of three beautiful waterfalle cans be found a short 100 feet from highway 11 in Cleveland, SC. This video is of the third most farthest fall which is only about a mile up a well traveledd trail. It's a loop so stay left if you want the easy route.
One Last Spin Around Walhalla SC
I was confused about possible former courthouse locations. Its a bit of a challenge it places with newer courthouses. There could be an old historic courthouse around town that isnt used in any municipal purpose anymore.I had some feeling that this old part of Newberry College was used as a courthouse(POSSIBLY) and then down here on College and Booker Streets I had directions for some other court. It turns out that this was just an old sherriffs office.I made sure I had all I need to see done before I went onto SC Route 183 towards Pickens.

Raven Cliff Falls
This is from our short day hike to the overlook and back. It includes a section of the Falls in video and was at some distance. September we plan the Dismal hike and should offer some closer views. Some very beautiful scenery here and well worth the hike.
Exploring Brasstown Falls in South Carolina
Brasstown Falls, SC has more to offer than you would expect. We knew that there were a few falls in the area with a relatively short hike, but what we found far exceeded our expectations. It probably helped that the area had just seen two days of solid rain, so flow over the falls was up. You owe it to yourself to take the short, but mildly treacherous, hike to see these falls! You won't regret it.
Harper Creek Falls and South Harper Creek Falls - Pisgah National Forest, NC
Tackled the Harper Creek Trail/Raider Camp Trail lollipop hike in the Harper Creek Wilderness Study Area on a hazy Sunday to see Harper Creek Falls and South Harper Creek Falls. The wilderness study area is part of the large Wilson Creek watershed in the Grandfather Ranger District of Pisgah National Forest. Beginning at the Harper Creek Trailhead on SR 1328 the trail passes beside a long stretch of excellent campsites in a wide floodplain beside Harper Creek.
A long side trail leads to Harper Creek Falls. First I scrambled down the bank and used the old climbing rope to get to the base of the falls, which is an awesome swimming hole but not the best view. The main side trail ends at a viewpoint of the upper drops. Then I climbed down the steep rock face beside the middle pool using the comically thick boat rope. This is not for the faint of heart. Next the trail closely follows Harper Creek with many great views. Once the Harper Creek Trail branches from the Mountains-to-Sea Trail it takes on a true wilderness feel, with lots of undergrowth and many confusing creek crossings. In total there were 14 creek crossings on this hike, 12 of them wet, ankle to knee-deep.
I spied a relatively easy scramble down to the base of South Harper Creek Falls, heading upstream mostly dry close to the base. The trail to the top of the waterfall was heavily eroded with almost impassable blowdowns. A side trail takes you to the middle of the waterfall on flat bedrock, which is awesome but looks scary in pictures. Above South Harper Creek Falls is another 25-foot waterfall with many small drops which I didn't show here because the waterfall is on private property. Then the trail swings around high to a cliff overlooking South Harper Creek Falls. The rest of the Raider Camp Trail is easy but boring compared to earlier, overall a great water-feature loop. Combine this with Gragg Prong/Lost Cove and that's a perfect weekend of waterfalls.
Hike was 10.9 miles in 6 hours and 35 minutes.

History, Legends, and Haunted Train Tunnel!? - Stumphouse Tunnel, Walhalla, SC - (My Experience)
Stumphouse Tunnel is rich with history. Legends of Irish workers shot dead by Confederate Soldiers and a story of a Native American Princess who jumped off a waterfall to escape her tribe, are just some of the examples of how rich the lore is here.
- This was my first time visiting Stumphouse Tunnel and I look forward to going again. There is much more research I need to do on the history of this place and the complicated issues surrounding the people who once lived there, but this video is about my first experience and what I know so far.

Station Cove Falls Oconee County South Carolina Video.MOV
Before the weather started to get too hot for this Canadian girl, my husband Jason and I took a Sunday walk on the half mile nature trail at Station Cove Falls in Walhalla, SC. It is a well-groomed path through lush green vegetation of the Appalachian forests all the way to the 60 foot waterfalls. Several families were walking the trails, playing in the creek below the falls, and some even climbed to the top of the falls and shouted down to us lesser thrill seekers below. The shade of the trees helped protect us from the sun and the spray off the falls kept our skin cool for the hike back out. This is considered an easy trail and would be great for a walk with young children. Click on the link to find a trail map and directions to Station Cove Falls in Oconee County South Carolina.
