My Luxurious Train Ride On The Rocky Mountaineer
What's better than flying first class? This luxury train service in the Pacific Northwest known as the Rocky Mountaineer. Seems to me like it must be the highest level of service you'd find on a train in North America!
In this video, I take you along with me and my wife for a slightly more than five hour trip from Seattle, Washington to Vancouver, British Columbia in a special rail car that far exceeds the level of service and pampering you'd get on Amtrak.
We boarded at the King Street station in Seattle and headed north on a beautiful route along Puget Sound. The tracks ran right along the water for hours! The views were fantastic and the food, drinks, and level of service provided to the passengers was, too!
This Seattle-Vancouver journey is known as the Coastal Passage, and it's a good alternative for people that can't afford the ultimate Rocky Mountaineer experience: the 2-day journey from Vancouver to Banff.
Some of the points of interest in the video include the Seattle Space Needle, Fairhaven, Bellingham, Surrey, Crescent Beach, and the border between Canada and the United States.
Because we booked the Gold Leaf service rather than the less expensive Silver Leaf class, we rode in a 2-level rail car with a dining room on the bottom level and a glass-domed viewing area on the upper level.
I'll be riding the Rocky Mountaineer again in July of 2020, following an Alaska cruise. If you think you might be interested in coming along with me for that vacation, take a look at for details.

Northern Victor at the Ballard Locks
Capturing the Northern Victor going through the Hiram M. Chittenden (Ballard) Locks that is Alaska bound.
History of the Northern Victor:
The Northern Victor is the largest of Icicle's processing vessels at 8902 gross tons. She was built in 1945 as the cargo vessel Marengo in Wisconsin for the U.S. war effort. Released from the U.S. Reserve Fleet, she was converted in 1972 to the oil well drilling ship Ocean Cyclone in Beaumont, Texas, adding a drilling tower and other drilling related equipment, a new engine room, 40 feet in length and 20 feet in beam to bring her to present dimensions of 380 feet long and 70 feet wide. After a successful career drilling for oil in the Middle East and South America, the vessel was retired in Brazil in 1986. Previous owners took the vessel to South Africa for removal of drilling related equipment in 1988. The Northern Victor was returned to the United States and converted to a fish processing vessel in Panama City, Florida, in 1989 and 1990. Since July 1990 the Northern Victor has operated in Alaska and produced various seafood products as the second largest processing vessel in the United States fishing industry. Icicle acquired the Northern Victor in late 1999 and subsequently completed major processing equipment additions and improvements that have made her the most versatile processing vessel in the U.S. industry. With quarters for 222 crew members she processes Alaskan Pollock at her primary operating base in the Aleutians Islands near Dutch Harbor. An onboard rendering plant produces a high quality fish meal and fish oil from the normal processing waste by-products and insures a maximum recovery from the purchased fish. Her home base is in Seattle, WA.

Get to know :)

You may have already guessed that they love journeys. When they’re not physically traveling, their mind continues to wander around new thoughts, ideas and messages. It’s their first and foremost dream to take their family to all places that they visit, to give their family the same happiness that they felt. But, sometimes, that’s not possible. That’s when they started taking videos of all places, captured memories that they loved and shared with their family.
Now, they love sharing life journeys with you. Journeys to places and Journeys to thoughts and ideas :) They always travel together. Soumi, Anu, Z and their friends. They created me and my story started.
Hope you like these journeys and may get inspired.
Every moment in our life is a gift. The most precious and valuable gift. There may be happy, successful, inspiring, challenging and sad moments in our life.
Through all these, our life experiences drive us from one moment to another. We learn new things every day from all around the world. Those lessons and experiences make us a better human being. I believe that our journeys never end, we pass it on to others. Remembering a line from a beautiful and meaningful poem “Miles to go before I sleep”. Let’s Travel.. Experience life.. Live each and every moment.. Love each other..

How to Seattle - Day 3
This video is about our trip to Seattle - Day 1
Pike Place Market
This historic, beloved downtown public market has been in business since 1907. It’s a year-round farmers market and a visual riot of vegetable, seafood, cheese and flower stalls along with handicrafts and tourist-friendly knickknacks. And, of course, the flying fish. Vendors at Pike Place Fish Market gleefully toss salmon to each other and crack jokes, always drawing a crowd at the fish stall by the market’s main entrance.
Info: pikeplacemarket.org
Space Needle
This vertical icon of the city is so kitschy it’s become cool, and it gives a great view of the city from the top. Built for the 1962 World’s Fair, it’s 605 feet tall and looks like a spaceship on stilts, towering over Seattle Center (seattlecenter.com), a cultural complex where you could easily spend hours at the Pacific Science Center, Chihuly glass display, food court, theatres or simply watching kids frolic in a giant outdoor fountain.
Info: The Space Needle is open daily, including evenings. Admission starts at $19 (adult) for the elevator ride to the observation deck, 520 feet up. Or get a meal with a view at Skycity Restaurant. spaceneedle.com or 206-905-2200.
Washington State Ferries
Ferries shuttle all around Puget Sound and they’re a key, and the prettiest, part of Washington’s transportation system. You can have a fun, quick and cheap sightseeing boat ride as a walk-on passenger (adult fare is $7.70 round trip) on the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry. If it’s clear, you’ll even see 14,410-foot Mount Rainier looming to the south on the 35-minute ride. “The Mountain,” as locals call it, really does exist, although it’s often shrouded in clouds.
Board the ferry at Pier 52 on the downtown Seattle waterfront, get off at Bainbridge and walk into the friendly little town of Winslow — its restaurants, cafes and shops are a 10-minute walk from the ferry landing on the main drag of Winslow Way.
Info: wsdot.wa.gov/ferries or 888-808-7977; For Winslow shops, restaurants and more, see bainbridgedowntown.org

Museum of History & Industry
This museum doesn’t have the most enticing name (although it’s known locally as MOHAI, which at least is shorter). But don’t miss it. MOHAI reopened in late 2012, with new galleries and multimedia displays, in a new location in Lake Union Park at the north edge of downtown. Its exhibits on life in Seattle and Puget Sound cover everything from the maritime past to cutting-edge culture. (Adult admission is $14.)
Stop at the Seattle Aquarium to see what lives in (and beyond) the local waters (adult admission, $19.95). Ride the Seattle Great Wheel, a 175-foot tall Ferris wheel with enclosed gondola-type cabins, for a view from on high of the city, Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains to the west (adult ticket $13).
Info: seattlewaterfront.org, seattlegreatwheel.com and seattleaquarium.org

Ballard Locks
See the essence of the Pacific Northwest at the Ballard Locks, where you can watch salmon and boats — from fishing boats and tugs to kayaks and yachts. The locks carry boats up and down, letting them travel between Puget Sound and Seattle’s freshwater waterways (about 20 feet above sea level). A fish ladder lets salmon swim up past the locks to their freshwater spawning grounds; glass viewing windows let people watch them.

Boeing tour
See Boeing‘s “Future of Flight” exhibits (and design your own jet digitally) and see jets being made inside the Boeing factory, about 25 miles north of Seattle in Everett. The Boeing plant is the biggest building by volume in the world — 472,000,000 cubic feet — and holds the production lines for various Boeing jets, including the 787 Dreamliner. Adult admission for the exhibits and 90-minute guided tour is $18. (Children must be at least four feet tall to join the tour.)

Seattle, WA | Fish Catching, Scooters, Ốc, Capitol Hill Block Party | Vlog
Day 2/6 of Sa's trip. We started the day with coffee at Monorail Espresso on Westlake! Afterwards, Pike Place Fish Market at 8AM. They were super awesome to allow Sa to catch a fish. Afterwards, we went to Scoot About in Belltown to rent scooters for the day. They were professional and made the experience so easy and safe (they do provide you helmets!). Apparently, Macklemore rented scooters from here for his Downtown music video! We drove the scooters to Bun & Oc, my favorite place for Vietnamese escargot in Seattle. Afterwards, we drove around town (ex. Fremont Troll) and returned the scooter. We went to Crawfish House towards the afternoon for 7lbs of Pacific Crawfish since they're still in season! We went to 85 degree cafe afterwards for coffee to wake up lol. We capped off the night by seeing SOL at Day 1 of Capitol Hill Block Party. Stay tuned for the next video! Thanks for watching.
