The annual World Professional Ballroom and Latin American Dance championships are taking place in Hong Kong.
Six internationally renowned pairs of dancers from around the world are in the territory this weekend to take part in the championships.
Ballroom dancing appears to be taking Asia by storm.
The annual World Professional Ballroom and Latin American Dance championships are taking place in Hong Kong this weekend, with contestants from Australia, Canada, Holland, South Africa and the U-K.
Hong Kong's Urban Services Department has been organising this dance showcase for six years.
Ballroom dancing has become increasingly popular in Asia during the past few years.
There are more than 50 venues where people can learn ballroom dancing in Hong Kong alone.
This year's competition is taking place in the territory's biggest venue, the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
More than 500 people turned out on Saturday to see the dancers strut their stuff and show off some fancy footwork.
For the first time ever, South Africans are taking part in Hong Kong's ballroom dancing showcase.
Being in Asia for the first time has really impressed this South African duo.

We had very warm applause from the audience, a very warm reception, and very warm applause. It's our first time in Hong Kong and so far it's going well. Out there you can hear the music playing. The audience is loving it, and we're loving every second of it.

This couple from the U-K are the four-times undefeated European and World Professional Argentine Tango Champions.
This year's dance performances aren't focusing primarily on traditional ballroom dancing.
The Tango, Cha Cha and rock-and-roll showdancing dominated the dance floor.
The latest stars and their sexy costumes were a hit with Hong Kong's dance enthusiasts.
But this Canadian couple have noticed a difference between Asian audiences and those from other parts of the world

Asian people are more quiet. They really appreciate your dancing. They really appreciate you, but they don't... (Q Give their feeling inside?) They keep all inside, instead of giving it to you. And when you go back to the other way, they are more outward. Like if you come to America, everybody is going to stand on the chairs and everything. But the people are a little bit more crazy. Here they are a little bit more settled and clam.

The contestants hope ballroom dancing will take off throughout the Asian region, as it has in the Philippines and China.
The dance showcase features various routines from all the performers, and will be taking place in Hong Kong throughout the weekend.

World Open Teenage Ballroom Dance Championship Closes in South China City
The 5th World Open Teenage Ballroom Dance Championship recently closed in Shenzhen City, south China's Guangdong Province, after teenage dancers from UK, Italy, Moldova and many other countries and regions competed.
The World Open is the gathering of the most excellent teenage dancers in the world. The biggest attraction is the dual meet between 24 couples of competitors from UK, Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Moldova and China. After fierce contests in cha-cha, rumba, jive, waltz, tango and quickstep, Ukraine retained the championship, and China and Moldova took second and third place respectively.
