GoPro 2 HD Getu China Climbing Trip 2014
I had the opportunity to go climbing for a week in Getu, China this August with some friends from the same climbing gym in Hong Kong. The scenery was absolutely stunning. Food was cheap and delicious, although a bit too much oil. Climbed some easy and hard routes. Most memorable of all was the 6 pitch climb on the CMDI wall.

Explore Hong Kong’s wilderness with canyoning
The outdoor sport of canyoning – known as canyoneering in the US – in which people navigate their way down steep and narrow canyons, is fast becoming a popular activity in Hong Kong.
Enthusiasts use several methods including stream trekking, swimming, sliding down rock faces, abseiling, and free jumping to make their way down otherwise inaccessible river systems.
SCMP reporter Alkira Reinfrank joined instructors from Hong Kong Rock Climbing Adventure at Ma Tai Stream in Ma On Shan, a beginner-level stream for canyoning.

Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour in China (Hong Kong and Shanghai)
Land Rover is proudly supporting the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour, which is taking the Webb Ellis Cup to 15 countries as part of a celebration of Rugby in the lead up to Rugby World Cup 2015, in England and Cardiff. On the tenth leg, Land Rover ambassador Lawrence Dallaglio was reunited with the iconic Trophy he lifted with England in 2003 as he visited China.
During the first part of the trip in Hong Kong, the Trophy visited King George V School before Dallaglio embarked on the latest instalment of the Least Driven Path, taking the Webb Ellis Cup on a tour of Hong Kong’s most iconic locations, including Lantau Island’s picturesque Inspiration Lake, the busy Canton Road and Mount Davis.
The Tour then headed to Shanghai where Dallaglio escorted the Trophy to Shanghai Rugby Football Club. Here Dallaglio helped run a training session for 70 children from a number of local schools, whilst sharing some Rugby tips and insights with local coaches.
As part of the visit to Shanghai RFC, Jaguar Land Rover China also launched a ground-breaking initiative, which will use the values that Rugby teaches to help up to four thousand Chinese children in Shanghai’s inner city areas. The Land Rover China Youth Rugby Development Programme, established under the ‘Sports for All’ pillar of The Jaguar Land Rover China Children & Youth Dream Fund, will work with local partners, including teachers and coaches, to access vulnerable young people and deliver improved access to educational resources, sports training, English instruction and personal and life skills training.

'French Spiderman' climbs Hong Kong building
(16 Aug 2019) FOR CLEAN VERSION SEE STORY NUMBER: 4225286
A Frenchman known for carrying out several unauthorised climbs of skyscrapers around the globe, has scaled a 62-storey building in Hong Kong.
Alain Robert's stunt on Friday was part of a move to appeal for peace during 10 weeks of anti-government protests over a proposed extradition bill.
The 57-year-old, dubbed spiderman, ascended to the top of Cheung Kong Centre in about an hour and unveiled a banner, which featured both the Chinese and Hong Kong flags, on the facade of the landmark.
Following his climb, Robert underwent a medical check and was taken to a police station.
It wasn't immediately clear if he would be charged for the ascent.
In 2017, Robert was banned from returning to Hong Kong for one year after he had climbed another building.
