Devil's Peak Hike, Hong Kong - Beautiful Historical Lookout Point (4K Drone + Yi 4K+)
Hike up to Devil's Peak near Lei Yue Mun, Hong Kong. The lookout point served as an important historical landmark in Hong Kong.
The area around Devil's Peak was garrisoned by the British Army or local pirates to control the passage of Lei Yue Mun, which is an important nautical passage in South China. The remains of a redoubt and batteries are still visible on the peak.
Take a quick glimpse of the batteries and redoubt, and the gorgeous view of the Hong Kong skyline. Many locals hike to Devil's Peak to enjoy beautiful sunsets. Which exactly what we did.

Devil’s Peak gets its name from the ferocious pirates who once occupied the hill during the Ming Dynasty era. It was the home of the famous pirate Cheng Lin Cheong.
DEVIL’S PEAK HIKE STARTING POINT
The narrow straight between Hong Kong and Kowloon as seen from Devil’s Peak Redoubt
Take the MTR green line to Yau Tong station, and then take Exit A into Domain Mall. Go up the escalators to the mall’s ground floor. Look for Tai Hing restaurant at the end of the ground floor, and take the rear exit out of the mall onto Ko Chiu Road.
On Ko Chiu Road walk towards Lei Yue Mun Estate housing. Immediately after the estate, take the right and walk up the slope towards Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery. Take the trail going left and follow the signs for Devil’s Peak. Roughly after 350 metres from the start of Wilson Trail, the path curves right. At this point, if you walk a few steps ahead and turn left you’ll continue onto Devil’s Peak. But instead, you should take the sharp turn right as the trail curves, and follow the signage for Devil’s Peak Fortifications. This short path will bring you to the ruins of Gough Battery.Once you’re done admiring the view at the top, make your way down the same path. If you’re interested in seeing the other smaller military post, take the dirt path after the steps. There’s a short detour that takes you to it that the main path ignores.
Finish it off on the same path!

Fortification at Devil's Peak Hong Kong
British authorities were very concerned about perceived threats to the safety of their colonial possessions in the Far East from other European powers. Hong Kong fell into this category.
Accordingly the British Government constructed impressive military fortifications to protect their imperial possessions, and one of these was at Devil's Peak at the eastern extremity of the Kowloon peninsula.

The essential guide to Kowloon, Hong Kong's 'dark' side
The essential guide to Kowloon, Hong Kong's 'dark' side
There's Hong Kong Island, Kowloon -- which lies across Victoria Harbor -- and the New Territories, which is closest to Mainland China.
People who live on Hong Kong Island call Kowloon the city's dark side.
Those who live here prefer to think of it as the better side.
Nearly half of the city's population lives here. And while many Islanders don't venture over because it's considered too far, the reality is it's a 3.5-minute ride on the MTR in the underwater tunnel, or a five-minute ride across the water on the Star Ferry.
To tempt you over to the dark side we've put together this in-depth list of some of Kowloon's best experiences.
Devil's Peak
For those wanting stunning views without the long hike there's Devil's Peak.
At the top of the 222-meter hill is a redoubt built by the British military in 1914.
You can perch on top of the old structures and look west down Victoria Harbor, taking in Central on Hong Kong Island to the south and Kowloon to the north.
Scores of photographers venture up to the peak with their cameras and tripods to catch the sunset. The hike is relatively easy and can be completed in around 90 minutes.
Getting there: Section 3 of the Wilson Trail is a short walk from Yau Tong Station Exit A

Summary
Kitty, Kenny and a group of their friends decide to go camping in an area known as Devil's Peak. What follows is a dark night of terror, panic, abandonment and ultimate betrayal as the forces of evil are unleashed on the entire group.
If you own a copy of this movie (or even better the original print) or if you know where I can get one please let me know. I would like to acquire it. Currently, the only copy known to exist is a badly damaged English-dubbed Indonesian Betamax rental version (plastered with Indonesian subtitles) which I found for sale by chance in an Asian movie enthusiasts' forum.
As the condition of the tape was so bad, considerable enhancements and modifications had to be made before uploading it here. Most of the film has been salvaged, apart from a few minutes of a chase scene near the end, and the closing credits which needed to be redone.
Here's what reviewer Daryl Wade says about the film:-
This was in fact the FIRST Hong Kong Dracula movie. I was captivated by this movie because the plots of other Dracula movies at the time were predictable - but this movie was different and is as dark as hell. I was frightened watching it all alone in the dark as a 10 year old but at the same time couldn't stop watching it. Warwick Evans is, in my opinion, the BEST Dracula & better & more frightening than Christopher Lee.
