Pike Place Market - AMERICA'S #1 CHOWDER + Must-Eat Market Tour in Seattle | American Food!
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week:
►T-shirts and caps available now:
Pike Place Market is a landmark of #Seattle, and one of the oldest continuously functioning markets in the United States. I had been there once before when I was a kid, but this time I was on a mission to go on the ultimate Pike Place Market food tour!
In this video you’ll find some of the best food within the market and all the details about what to order and eat when you’re in Seattle, Washington. One tip - go early to start eating before the main huge rush comes - when it gets to mid-day, the market is packed.
Here are all the restaurants we tried at #PikePlaceMarket:
Lowell's Restaurant - For breakfast we went to the legendary Lowell's Restaurant, serving a mix of classic American food including seafood. I wanted to try their dungeness crab eggs benedict, which was a little expensive, but pretty good.
Dungeness crab eggs benedict - $25
Pure Food Fish Market - Next to Lowell’s don’t miss the smoked salmon. Again, it’s not cheap, but it’s so good, salmon glistening and embedded with smoke.
½ Pound salmon - $16.56
Ghost Alley Espresso - Next on this Pike Place Market food tour I was in desperate need of a coffee to begin the morning so we navigated our way past the gnarly gum alley to Ghost Alley Espresso. Great place for a quick cup of espresso.
Doppio espresso - $3
Piroshky Piroshky - A legendary bakery that serves mostly Russian influenced baked goods, both sweet and savory, is Piroshky Piroshky. Again, I tried to keep it pretty classic, and Seattle style, so Jason and I split the salmon pate piroshky. It was very tasty, with a cream cheesy taste.
Salmon - $6.85
Pike Place Chowder - Having won every chowder competition and award in the US as possible, Pike Place Chowder serves America’s #1 Chowder. So you know you can’t miss it when you go to Pike Place Market. We got in line about 20 minutes before they opened and line didn’t take long. You order, get your chowder, and then sit down. I don’t have too much experience with chowder, but indeed it was good, and I also really liked the seafood bisque.
Total price - $37.76 total
Beecher's Handmade Cheese - Another classic is Beecher's Handmade Cheese where you can sample cheese curds and also order grilled cheese sandwiches.
Flagship sandwich - $7.49
Ellenos Real Greek Yogurt - They also have a very loyal following and for sure it’s some of the best yogurt I’ve ever tried.
Market Grill - Finally to end this Seattle food tour we stopped at Market Grill, right in the heart of the market and I ordered the grilled salmon plate. Overall, it was good, and a perfect ending to this extreme food tour!
Grilled salmon plate - $15
Thank you for watching!

Travel Guide to Portland, Oregon l The Expeditioner
In this travel video tour of Portland, Oregon, I travel to Portland, one of the most unique cities in the United States.
I started my trip off by hopping off a plane and then immediately hopping onto a bus. But not just any bus, a bus operated by Brewvana Brewery Tours, the mostly women-run craft beer brewery tour company. Portland, or know as Beervana to some, is home to 55 breweries within its borders, and is truly a beer-lover's paradise. On my tour we made stops at Rogue Ales & Spirits, Laurelwood Pubic House & Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewery and Sidecar Bar, where I had the chance to sit down over a pint with the founder and owner of Brewvana, Ashley Rose Salvitti.
While in Portland, I stayed at the Tiny House Hotel, a hotel made up of, you guessed it, tiny houses. In the next portion of my video guide I give a tour of my crib to show what it's like to live and stay in a tiny house.
Then, in an effort to get a chance to experience the famed brunch scene in Portland, I stopped in at The Tin Shed Garden Cafe, located down the street from where I was staying in the New Alberta Arts District.
In the interest of learning more about food, I headed to the downtown location of the Portland Farmers Market, located in a beautiful stretch of downtown Portland. Here, I got a tour of the grounds with Mona Johnson, then had the opportunity to meet up with some of the vendors, including Matt Choi of Choi's Kimchi Company, and famed chef and artisanal pickle impresario, David Barber of Picklopolis and Bingo! Sandwiches.
In need of a little peace and serenity, I then visited the Lan Su Chinese Garden, a peaceful and beautiful oasis in an otherwise busy and hectic part of downtown.
When visiting Portland, there's no reason to spend all your time in the city, especially with so much to do outside the city limits. The next day I took a road trip with local Matthew Domingo to explore the Columbia River Gorge and the numerous trails and waterfalls just off the road you can check out.
Then, to wrap things up, we stopped in at Hood River Organic near the riverside town of Hood River, an organic orchard and farm run by East Coast ex-pat Dan Thall, who gave us a tour of his land. Once the day ended we then headed out to happy hour at Solera Brewery in the imposing shadow of Mount Hood and then into town for a dinner featuring mushroom pizza with mushrooms Dan had grown and recently delivered to the restaurant.

Top 5 Places to Eat in Portland, Oregon | US Travel Guide
Top 5 Best Places to Eat in Portland
Over the past decade, Portland has confirmed its credentials as a destination city for food lovers. A combination of great Pacific North-western produce, low start-up costs and innovative kitchen talent has provided visitors to Stumptown, as the city is affectionately known, an impressive variety of restaurant choices and cooking styles, often on a budget that makes larger US cities look grossly overpriced. It's not just bricks-and-mortar hostelries: the last couple of years have seen a proliferation of gourmet food carts – semi-mobile cooking sheds assembled in clusters, or pods, in various car parks and street corners through the city. There's a cart to suit pretty much every palate, whether your preference is for Bosnian or Thai; Czech or Mexican; vegan bowl or bespoke burger. Throw in a posse of cutting edge chefs, many of them carrying armfuls of tattoos (in keeping with the city's left-field, rock'n'roll leanings), and you've got a west coast city that has emerged from the shadow of Seattle to the north and San Francisco to the south

96 Hours in Portland, Oregon
96 Hours in Portland, Oregon - What to See When Visiting
If you only have 96 hours to visit Portland, Oregon, you have plenty of time to see a lot - and time to get outside the main city, too. My friends and I visited Portland and found lots of things to do and see. Here's our trip to Portland, Astoria, Cannon Beach, and more.
Things to Do in Portland Oregon:
Oregon has some great coffee and donuts. If you're a fan of one, or both, I'd suggest starting your day with a new place each morning. Some of places we visited:
Stumptown Coffee- one of my favorites.
Upper Left Roasters
Blue Star - unique looking donuts, good coffee too.
Voodoo Doughnut- This is in a category of it's own. This place is super trendy and there's always a line out the door. If crazy donuts are your thing, this is the place to go. If standing in line is your thing, this is the place to go. Also, cash only, but they do have an ATM inside.
Food in Portland Oregon:
I'd definitely suggest checking out the street food. Food carts/trucks line the streets and you can take your pick from one of the many. Many of them also have been on TV/food competitions.
Also, since Portland is just the hipster/trendy capital of everything they have some great restaurants to try. Here are the ones we tried
Weird things to see in Portland:
The Boeing 727 aircraft sitting in the forest. A man decided to live in the woods, but his home is not a house. It's an aircraft. He towed in a 727 to call home. It's been there for years and is quite a sight. He's even willing to give tours sometimes. Just be respectful and get permission to go on his property before setting out for this one.
Cool things to do in Portland:
Find the waterfalls - Portland has a lot of waterfalls around. Just a short drive east and you'll find Multnomah. One of the most popular ones. But there are plenty of other fun ones to find on your own too. When we visited, Multnomah was closed off to the public, but we found some alternates that were still great.
Road trips outside of Portland:
Astoria - A port city northwest of Portland. It's a quiet town, but being right on the water makes it extremely relaxing. Also, this is the town of the famous Goonies house. But I wouldn't get your hopes up if you're expecting to see it up close. Apparently, due to a lot of fans trespassing, littering, and being verbally abusive to the home owner, tours and even getting close to the house are not allowed. You can still get a decent photo from the neighborhood though. But the neighbors will probably hate you.
Cannon Beach - A beautiful beach with the awesome Haystack Rock. This is a great place to chill year-round and an awesome place to watch the sunset.
I hope you liked my video of our trip to Portland, Oregon. I'd love to go back in the summer and visit again. There is so much nature around the city and plenty of places to eat and drink in the city. Nature or city person, it's a great place to check out.

EPIC CHEAT WEEKEND IN PORTLAND | Eating Whatever We Want!
So I vlogged my trip to Portland featuring, of course, the food!! I LOVE the food in Portland so much — donuts, pizza, biscuits, brunch, ice cream, and more! Portland food is seriously some of the best food and we did not hold back! While I don’t love to label things as “cheat” days, we did certainly not stick to any diets on this weekend! On vacation, we like to relax and indulge in the local food to really get the most out of our trips, so enjoy this cheat weekend in portland where we eat whatever we want! It’s no 10,000 calorie challenge, but we did feel pretty full by the end of this :)
This trip, we started by going to Pine Street Market and had a Korean bowl from Kim Jong Smokehouse! Then we went to Pok Pok for dinner and had the famous fish sauce wings, and finished up with dessert at Salt and Straw. The next morning we went to the Waffle Window, then hiked Dry Creek Falls! We stopped by Tea Bar for a boba tea, then Cartopia for some pizza at the food carts! We had a bunch of donuts from Blue Star Donuts, drinks at a cocktail bar, and tapas at the toro bravo. On the last day, we ate at Cafe Broder and ate 12 mini doughnuts from our favorite place — Pips!! I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as we did eating our way through Oregon!

Portland Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Portland – Welcome to the city where you can experience the laid-back atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest amid beautiful natural surroundings. Check out the best of Portland, Oregon!
When ready, browse vacation packages to Portland:
A #Portland #vacation means plenty of parks, fountains, and buildings old and new to explore. Be warned, this city is known for its sudden showers, so make sure you bring an umbrella to shield yourself until the sun makes a triumphant return.
If you like a good brew, you’re going to love Portland’s alter-ego, Beervana – so named thanks to all the breweries located here. Wine snobs, don’t despair; you’ll find plenty to drink (responsibly) in the Willamette Valley while you continue your Portland #sightseeing.
Don’t forget to stop by the Oregon Zoo, home to eagles, bobcats, and a ton of other feathered, furry, and scaled critters. Travelers with children will also love the Portland Children’s Museum, where the little ones can learn from and play with interactive exhibits.
Whether you’re here for the beautiful views or to sample the vintages in the valley, Portland has something for everyone.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.
