Orlando, Florida - Orlando International Airport People Movers (2019)
The Orlando International Airport People Movers are a set of automated guideway transit (AGT) people mover systems operating within Orlando International Airport. The four original people mover systems connect the airport’s main terminal to four satellite airside concourses. A fifth AGT people mover system was installed in 2017 to connect the main terminal with the airport’s new Intermodal Terminal.
The four currently operating systems connect the main terminal with the airside concourses. The west two lines (Airsides 1 and 3) opened with the airport terminal in 1981. Airside 4 and its line were built later in 1990, and Airside 2 and its line began operation in 2000. The airside systems are similar to the Tampa International Airport People Movers.
Each line consists of two guideways that carry a three-car train each. The trains shuttle back and forth between the terminal and their respective airsides. Passengers board on an island platform between the two guideways and disembark on side platforms.
Since Airside 4 is the primary concourse for international flights, it system is set up so that when international flights arrive, terminal-bound passengers are not “secure”, while airside-bound passengers have gone through security screening. Only one set of doors are open at a time, and trains receive a security inspection before boarding secure departing passengers to the airside. This eliminates the need for international arriving passengers to go through additional security screening before heading to the main terminal.
Currently, only Airside 2 and 4 systems use Bombardier Innovia APM 100 vehicles. Airside 1 and 3 system’s Adtranz, later purchased by Bombardier, vehicles were replaced with Mitshbishi Crystal Mover vehicles in 2017. Airsides 2 and 4’s vehicles are not being replaced since those systems were built much later.

The airport code MCO stands for the airport's former name, McCoy Air Force Base, a Strategic Air Command (SAC) installation, that was closed in 1975 as part of a general military drawdown following the end of the Vietnam War.
In terms of commercial airline service, the Greater Orlando area is also served by Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), and more indirectly by Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB), Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB), Tampa International Airport (TPA), and St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport (PIE).

Landing In Orlando Airport - Delta Airlines - Next Stop: Walt Disney World, Florida
Orlando International Airport (IATA: MCO, ICAO: KMCO, FAA LID: MCO) is a major international airport located 6 mi (9.7 km) southeast of the central business district of Orlando. It is the second-busiest airport in Florida, after Miami International Airport.[4] It is the 13th-busiest airport in the United States and the 29th-busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic.[5]
The airport serves as a focus city for Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways. Southwest is currently the airport's largest carrier in terms of passengers traveled; in 2006, SWA carried one-fifth of MCO's passenger traffic.[6]
The airport code MCO stands for the airport's former name, McCoy Air Force Base, a Strategic Air Command (SAC) installation. Because MCO is the largest major airport near Disney World, its code is sometimes jokingly described as Mickey's Corporate Office.
The Greater Orlando area is also served by Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), and more indirectly by Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB), Melbourne International Airport (MLB), and Tampa International Airport (TPA).
Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL), operating as Delta Air Lines, is a major United States airline headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States.[10] The airline operates an extensive domestic and international network serving all continents except Antarctica. Delta Air Lines and its subsidiaries operate over 5,000 flights every day and have approximately 80,000 employees.[11] The airline's hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic (over 91 million passengers per year) and number of landings and takeoffs. Delta is the sixth-oldest operating airline by foundation date, and the oldest airline still operating in the United States. Delta Air Lines is one of the four founding members of the SkyTeam airline alliance,[11] the other three being Korean Air, Air France, and Aeroméxico. The loyalty program for Delta Air Lines is SkyMiles. Delta Air Lines is, as of 2012, the world's largest airline in terms of fleet size, revenue passenger-kilometers flown, and scheduled passenger traffic. Regional service for the airline is served by Delta Connection.

Daytona Child Has Christmas After All (Pt 1)
Veronica Dickson of Daytona Beach, FL went on an elected municipal leader's Facebook page & pleaded for assistance so that her grandson, 4-year-old Jamarri Gould, would not go without a present for Christmas as she was laid off from work and her husband, Wayne, barely makes enough as a cook, and is still recovering from a heart attack. As publisher of Headline Surfer®, the award-winning 24/7 internet newspaper serving the Daytona-Orlando metro region, I intervened and when I got no answer from the politician, I wrote an item on his Facebook page that Jamarri would not be forgotten at Christmas. I bought a $7 fire truck at Walmart with buttons for sirens and my wife wrapped it. A couple (who want to remain anonymous) liked what I wrote and came forward with a shopping spree of their own for me to give Jamarri, including perfume for his grandma. They had to have spent close to $100 on gifts & even wrapped them: A big remote control truck, Playdough, a Wiffle ball/bat and the biggest of them all, a Power Rangers helmet with electronic gadgets (he had been asking for it for weeks, but getting it was either coincidence or divine intervention. The publisher spent Christmas Eve with Jamarri and his grandparents who are raising him by themselves. Though they put up a small artificial tree bought years ago, there wasn't a single present underneath. The boy's mother lives out of town and is not involved in his upbringing. And his biological father was never in his life, the grandma said. As for the politician, she said he left a message to contact his office after Christmas. The grandparents struggle to survive, but they make do with what they have to provide and give Jamarri a roof over his Jamarri's head and ensure he's loved. As it is, they are late with the rent every month & forced to pay a $100 fee. Thanks to some helping hands, little Jamarri did not go without at Christmas...
