#ultrahd4k #hongkongairport #hongkong #hk #香港國際機場
Welcome to our Ultra HD 4K 2019 Hong Kong Airport video, where we walk through the whole of the Departure and Arrivals Hall in Terminal 1. This video is perfect for travelers about to come to Hong Kong and International business travelers.
Hong Kong hosts a lot of International Trade fairs, in Asia Expo and HKCEC and a major port as well as one of the top financial centres in the world.
'Hong Kong International Airport (IATA: HKG, ICAO: VHHH) is the commercial airport serving Hong Kong, built on reclaimed land on the island of Chek Lap Kok. The airport is also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport (赤鱲角機場).
The airport has been in commercial operation since 1998, replacing Kai Tak Airport. It is an important regional trans-shipment centre, passenger hub and gateway for destinations in Mainland China (with 45 destinations) and the rest of Asia. The airport is the world's busiest cargo gateway and one of the world's busiest passenger airports.[3] It is also home to one of the world's largest passenger terminal buildings (the largest when opened in 1998).
The airport is operated by the Airport Authority Hong Kong 24 hours a day and is the primary hub for Cathay Pacific (the flag carrier of Hong Kong), Cathay Dragon, Hong Kong Airlines, Hong Kong Express Airways and Air Hong Kong (cargo carrier). The airport is one of the hubs of Oneworld alliance, and it is also one of the Asia-Pacific cargo hubs for UPS Airlines.[1] It is a focus city for many airlines, including China Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. Singapore Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Air India utilise Hong Kong as a stopover point for their flights.
HKIA is an important contributor to Hong Kong's economy, with approximately 65,000 employees. More than 100 airlines operate flights from the airport to over 180 cities across the globe. In 2015, HKIA handled 68.5 million passengers,[3] making it the 8th busiest airport worldwide by passenger traffic.[4] Since 2010, it has also surpassed Memphis International Airport to become the world's busiest airport by cargo traffic.[5]
The airport is managed and operated by the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA), which was established on 1 December 1995.[6]
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 of the HKIA, with an area measuring 570,000 square metres (6,100,000 sq ft), is the third largest airport passenger terminal building in the world, after Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 and Beijing Capital International Airport Terminal 3.[22]
At its opening, Terminal 1 was the largest airport passenger terminal building, with a total gross floor area of 531,000 square metres (5,720,000 sq ft). It briefly conceded the status to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (563,000 m2 (6,060,000 sq ft)) when the latter opened on 15 September 2006, but reclaimed the title when the East Hall was expanded, bringing the total area to its current size of 570,000 square metres (6,100,000 sq ft). Terminal 1's title as the world's largest was surrendered to Beijing Capital International Airport Terminal 3 on 29 February 2008.
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 with an area measuring 140,000 m2 (1,500,000 sq ft), together with the SkyPlaza, opened on 28 February 2007 along with the opening of the Airport Station's Platform 3.[23] It is only a check-in and processing facility for departing passengers with no gates or arrival facilities (passengers are transported underground to gates at Terminal 1). So far most low-cost carriers and some full-service carriers have relocated their check-in operations to T2. The SkyPlaza is situated within Terminal 2.'

As soon as you get out of your plane, you will find air-hostesses standing on the exit with the flight number board of the connecting flights. First check with them, if any of air-hostesses belong to your flight, follow accordingly. Otherwise, look for sign boards. You will find signboards with IMMIGRATION or TRANSIT. Follow TRANSIT sign for taking your next flight. Keep following the TRANSIT sign. You will find the security check in-between. Complete the security check and take escalator to go to upper floor, if needed. Here, find a display board in the departure hall. Locate your flight number, its gate number and terminal also. In T1, The gate numbers are 1-40, 40-80, 201-230, 501-520. The gate numbers are written everywhere clearly and directions to reach there. There is a shuttle train with two stops: one stop for gates 40-80 and other for gates 201-230.
For gates 501-520 the shuttle bus will take to the plane standing for boarding in the North Satellite Concourse. If you need to go to terminal T2, its connected with T1 by central excess way and you can walk easily in 2 minutes between the terminals. Terminal T2 is close to gate numbers 1-20. If you do not have boarding pass for your connecting flights, find service counter for your airline and get your boarding pass.

Busiest Airports Worldwide by Passenger Count (China on the Rise)
This data ranking shows the #top15 #airports with the highest passenger count.
AIR TRAVEL WORLDWIDE is likely to double over the next two decades, and airports need to keep up.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, international tourist arrivals surpassed 1.3 billion in 2017, and that number increases each year. Some cities prepare for takeoff by investing big in better transportation connections or new technology for slow security. Airports today shift from bland transportation terminals into destinations people actually might want to spend some time.
The world's busiest airports (by passenger volume) offer their crowds museums, gardens, cultural performances, and more. Whether time allows exploring the airport or venturing outside, here's how to make the most of your next layover in these top 10 major hubs.
1. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Collecting treasures for the past 40 years, the Atlanta airport transformed into the unlikely home of the city’s largest art exhibition, with diverse works such as the mixed media “Saints” mural by local Radcliffe Bailey (Terminal E) or the 450-foot-long installation (between concourses A and B) by Chicago artist Steve Waldeck, “Flight Paths,” the largest public art project in the city’s history.
2. Beijing Capital International Airport
Stroll through the miniature imperial garden (T3E waiting area) with pavilions and bridges imitating those of the Summer Palace. Feed the fish as you find much-needed zen between flights–free fish food is provided–plus the gardens host daily performances of singing, dancing, or magic tricks (T3E fountain).
3. Dubai International Airport
Bigger is always better in Dubai, home to one of the world’s largest airport retail spaces. Everything from tacky camel figurines to boxes of local dates or Rolex watches and other luxury indulgences are all tax-free. Pre-order bars in 18, 22, or 24 carats for the perfect souvenir from the “City of Gold.”
4. Los Angeles International Airport
Kids can burn off energy at the play area in the Great Hall dubbed “LAX Beach,” where foam waves, surfboards, and dolphins are ready to be climbed. Grab sandwiches by Michael Voltaggio from Ink Sack (Great Hall) like the pork shoulder banh mi or the “Spanish Godfather” for an impromptu family picnic.
5. Tokyo Haneda International Airport
Super-fresh fish may break airport dining norms, but some travelers go out of the way to stopover for such a meal at low-key, old-Tokyo style Sushi Kyotatsu (Terminal 1, 3rd Floor). If raw is not your thing, the airport offers all of the best hits of Japanese cuisine from ramen to udon, plus sake to wash it down.
6. Chicago O'Hare International Airport
Downward dog to rejuvenate after a long flight in O’Hare’s naturally-lit yoga studio (Terminal 3 Rotunda) with sustainably-sourced bamboo floors and TVs for optional guidance through poses. Nearby, plants stretch through 26 towers in the world’s first aeroponic garden in an airport, supplying fresh produce like purple basil, Habanero peppers, and bibb lettuce to restaurants in the same terminal.
7. London Heathrow Airport
Get cultured at the Terminal 5 Expo Fine Art Gallery, which aims to provide a contemplative space amidst the bustle of the busy transport hub. The gallery also collaborates with the Sofitel London Heathrow hotel on its ever-evolving sculpture exhibition program. Then stay for high tea at the Sofitel, complete with scones and clotted cream (Terminal 5).
8. Hong Kong International Airport
Play nine holes of golf centered around an island lake in Terminal 2. Catch an IMAX movie with special 4D effects like fish swimming off the screen or falling snow (Terminal 2), go on a scavenger hunt for the optical illusion artworks hiding around Terminal 1, or head to the Aviation Discovery Centre to learn about the life of a commercial pilot in a cockpit and flight simulator. Hong Kong airport is an unexpected destination in and of itself.
9. Shanghai Pudong International Airport
Shanghai's airport lacks noteworthy options to pass time–just normal food courts, duty-free shops, and costly lounges. Even without time for sightseeing, take the Maglev (magnetic-levitation train) simply to feel whiplash while reaching speeds of 267 miles per hour. The trip to the city periphery takes less than eight minutes each way.
10. Aéroport de Paris-Charles de Gaulle
To experience the local joie de vivre without much time, head to Terminal 2 for the Instant Paris transit area. A multilingual reading salon offers coffee in cushy armchairs. Then take an immersive, 3-d walk through the French capital to peer through a virtual window to admire the Eiffel Tower in real time.

TRIP REPORT | HongKong Airlines HX716: Kuching Int'l KCH ✈ Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok Int'l HKG
Update: This flight has been cancelled due to low loads/yields.
This is the first video of this route on Youtube! Travelling from Kuching to Hong Kong for the first time with HongKong Airlines. HongKong Airlines, based in Hong Kong, is one of the subsidaries of Hainan Airlines of Mainland China.
This flight was almost full as I was travelling during school holidays. I don't think it will be this full outside school holidays though. The experience was pleasant until I reached HKG, where the ground staff handled us very poorly in my opinion. Instead of handing everyone an umbrella (which are reusable), they gave every passenger one plastic raincoat, just for the short duration of getting down the stair and onto the shuttle bus (should be less than half a minute). Time spent on board passing the raincoats and waiting for passengers in front to fully wear them and deplane was insane for a 85% full flight. Luckily, I was on a narrowbody aircraft.
P/s: For foreigners (non-Malaysians) leaving for Hong Kong via KCH, please take note that GST refund office is not open during early hours of the airport (defeats the purpose of having the office to be honest). No shops are open at the airside at that time too, so you need to deal with your breakfast before reaching the airport. You will have to wait until the ~7am breakfast service on board if you have yet to have breakfast when you reach the airport. Once you're in departure hall for Gate 7, you will not be allowed to leave until you board.
