Welcome to our Hong Kong Walking Tour in Kadoorie Farm and Botanical Garden. Our video is filmed in Ultra HD 4K, crystal clear quality, as if you are actually here. Hong Kong is not just a city but has a lot of countryside where organic farms like this one exists. It is worth a visit, to see farmers planting vegetables and lots of greenery.
Kadoorie Farm is actually a massive place, and one can walk for hours there, seeing the farms. The animals are near the entrance of the park. So where can you see animals in Hong Kong? This place is one of them.
'Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) (Chinese: 嘉道理農場暨植物園, jyutping: gaa1 dou3 lei5 nung4 coeng4 kei3 zik6 mat6 jyun4), formerly known as Kadoorie Experimental and Extension Farm (嘉道理試驗及推廣農場), or Kadoorie Farm (嘉道理農場) for short, was originally set up for aiding poor farmers in the New Territories in Hong Kong. It later shifted its focus to promote biodiversity conservation in Hong Kong and south China, and greater environmental awareness. It is located near Pak Ngau Shek, encompassing Kwun Yum Shan in the central New Territories; The Farm was built in a valley with streams, woodlands and terraces in 1956 by the Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association. Now it is managed to integrate nature conservation, including a rescue and rehabilitation programme for native animals, along with holistic education and practices in support of a transition to sustainable living. The farm attracts about 3000 to 5000 visitors per week.[1] '

Kadoorie farm and botanical garden Taipo Hong Kong
Few tourists will venture to this farm in Hong Kong. Give it a try if you're tired of the busy streets and shopping malls. You can have a nice walk up and down the hill. Along the way, you'll see a variety of plants and a few animals. Be part of a nature movie instead of watching one. Farm was founded by a philanthropist and businessman Sir Kadoorie. Originally intended to help local farmers to better their farming skills. Now it's more of a showcase for conservation.

Kadoorie Farm & Botanical Garden
Established in 1956 as a base for the Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association (K.A.A.A.), the KFBG site near Lam Tsuen, Tai Po, is one of Hong Kong's little known jewels. Nine kilometres of road wind their way up around organic farming terraces, theme gardens and native forest to the summit of the mountain, Kwun Yum Shan, at over 1800ft above sea level. A wide variety of educational displays, sustainability features and wildlife rescue facilities complement the extensively landscaped gardens with their cobbled paths, pavilions, bridges, waterfalls and picnic spots.

The Kadoorie Estate - A Short History I 嘉道理家族的物業
The Kadoorie Estate dates from 1931 when the Kadoorie Family controlled company, Hong Kong Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (H. E. & C. Co.), purchased a bare hillside at the junction of Argyle Street and Waterloo Road in Kowloon for HK$326,000 with the French Mission Étrangères. Greenery and gardens were an important part of The Estate scheme from the beginning. In 1934, Shanghai based architects Messrs. Davies, Brook and Gran were brought in to design the houses on The Estate. During the 1950s, an extensive site development programme was undertaken so that by the end of the decade the Estate comprised 57 houses and 35 apartments. The tenants were principally corporate, trading, shipping and aviation interests, reflecting the growth of Hong Kong at that time. More information is available at thekadoorieestate.com.
如需更多資料,請瀏覽嘉道理置業有限公司網頁thekadoorieestate.com 。
Rice farming in Hong Kong
At one time, Hong Kong supplied its own rice before farmers quit for better paying jobs in the city. But now the trade is making a comeback. We visited the Yi O farm tucked deep inside the woods past Tai O to see the new rice paddies of Hong Kong. Read more about Yi O farm:
