Hollywood Road l Hong Kong
Hollywood Road is a street in Central and Sheung Wan, on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. This old street, one of the first to be built in Hong Kong, is filled with trinket and antique shops of all sorts: from Chinese furniture to porcelain ware, from Buddha sculptures to Tibetan rugs, from Japanese netsukes to Coromandel screens, from Ming dynasty ceramic horsemen and kitsch Maoist memorabilia.
The street runs between Central and Sheung Wan, with Wyndham Street, Arbuthnot Road, Ladder Street, Upper Lascar Row, and Old Bailey Street in the vicinity.

360 video: Hollywood Road, Hong Kong, China
The second oldest street in Hong Kong. It was never meant to resemble anything related to Hollywood, the street was named after the holly trees that used to grow here. In fact, the name was established way before the Californian Hollywood was named.
This was the place where Chinese traders came to buy and sell items to Europeans. You can find mainly antiquity shops selling various things, from figures of Buddhas to rugs and various kinds of memorabilia.
Apart from shopping, the street is starting to be a home for contemporary art pieces; many galleries are spreading around the area. You can also visit many restaurants with all kinds of cuisines imaginable. If you're into window shopping, you can easily spend half a day here.
Watch out for the antiquities because the sources are not very reliable and you never know whether the item is really genuine or just a fake.
There are plenty of bus stops around the area, but the closest ones are Lok Ku Road; Hollywood Road (line 26), Hollywood Terrace; Queen's Road Central (3A, 7, 10, 37A, 90B, 94, 101, 104) and Ladder Street; Caine Road (40M, 93C, 103 and 103P).

HONG KONG: THE LAST DAY OF BRITISH COLONIAL RULE UPDATE
Cant/Eng/Nat
Hong Kong woke up to the last day of British colonial rule on Monday.
With only hours to go, the last touches were being put on preparations to hand Hong Kong back to the Chinese after 156 years of British rule.
But the handover ceremony has been fraught with political wranglings -- with high ranking officials from both China and Britain refusing to attend celebrations on each side.
The last dawn of an era is about to fade into history.
When the sun rises again, Hong Kong will be under Chinese rule.
Shortly after sun up, the soldiers of the Black Watch, one of Britain's most famous fighting regiments, raised the Union Jack for the last time.
It was a moment tinged with sadness.
The flag of Britain was first raised here 156 years ago by Royal Naval officers who scrambled ashore to claim Hong Kong for Queen and country.
A century and a half later, many Hong Kong residents queued for hours just to get the post office stamp of the British Crown on their mail.
For other Hong Kong Chinese, though, the day started as usual: with Tai-chi in the park.
It has been a nostalgic last few days for the British Governor Chris Patten: everything that he has done has been for the last time.
In the last 24 hours, Britain has staged some final flourishes. Prince Charles bestowed knighthoods on three of the colony's luminaries.
U-S Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright and the British Foreign Secretary, Robin Cook, met to exchange views about Hong Kong.
Both Britain and the U-S have been among the most vehement critics of Chinese threats to roll back freedoms in the territory.
But the British Foreign Secretary expressed hopes that differences over Hong Kong wouldn't eclipse Britain's improving relations with China.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
Yes we do want a new start with Beijing. We want to be able to deal with each other as major players on the international scene and also as countries that have quite a strong and developing economic link. Of course central to that relationship will be Hong Kong. We see Hong Kong as potentially a bridge, not a barrier between ourselves and China.
SUPER CAPTION: Robin Cook, British Foreign Secretary
The new guard arrived on Monday: China's Foreign Secretary Qian Qichen flew in -- the highest Chinese official to attend Britain's lavish ceremonies overnight.
But there is another side to the pomp and ceremony. During the handover, protesters will be allowed to gather at two sites.
A handful of demonstrators moved into position on Sunday evening with banners calling for the release of Chinese dissidents.
And Martin Lee, one of Hong Kong's most outspoken democrats, said that Beijing's dismantling of Hong Kong's democratically elected Legislative Council (known as LegCo) would not go unprotested.
SOUNDBITE: (Cantonese)
If we are not let in at midnight on the 1st to the balcony of the LEGCO (Legislative Council) building to make our statement, we plan to bring our own ladder to go up there.
SUPER CAPTION: Martin Lee, Democratic Party
And, on the streets of Hong Kong, a few token pro-democracy banners: which many here are hoping will not be the final flutter of democracy in Hong Kong.

Where do these mysterious mosaics on Hong Kong's streets come from?
Mysterious mosaic pieces can be seen all over Hong Kong, baffling and delighting residents in equal measure.
Where are they from? It turns out that 32 works were placed in hidden places all over the city by Invader, a French urban artist.
Some pieces have already been removed, with Invader’s work on display at the Over The Influence gallery in Central.
????♂️Hong Kong ????♂️/ Central-Mid Levels Escalator (World's Longest Escalator) 中環至半山自動扶手電梯 / Walk 66

From Wikipedia :
The Central–Mid-Levels escalator and walkway system in Hong Kong is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. The system covers over 800 metres (2,600 ft) in distance and traverses an elevation of over 135 metres (443 ft) from bottom to top. It opened in 1993 to provide an improved link between the Central and Mid-Levels districts on Hong Kong Island.
As at November 2018, the top stage of the escalator between Robinson Road and Conduit Road has been replaced, and went operational on 11 July 2018. The escalator between Mosque and Robinson Roads is under refurbishment.
Apart from serving as a mode of transportation, the system is also a tourist attraction and is lined with restaurants, bars, and shops.
The project was first publicly mooted in the early 1980s. The government found that much of the east-west traffic in the area arose from north-south travel demand, as the steep topography did not allow for major roads to be built straight up the hill. There was talk of linking Central and Mid-Levels with escalators, a monorail, or a cable-car system.
In late 1982, private consultants Peter Y.S. Pun and Associates and MVA Asia were commissioned to investigate traffic improvement measures in Central. In their report entitled A Study of the Transport Requirements of the Mid-Levels and Central District, the consultant recommended, inter alia, to build an escalator assisted pedestrian route linking Mid-Levels to the existing Central Elevated Walkway system and a new bus terminus that they proposed should be built on the site of the Central Market. This proposal was well-received by Mid-Levels residents.
Hong Kong Island is dominated by steep, hilly terrain, which makes it the home of some rather unusual methods of transport up and down the slopes. The Central–Mid-Levels escalator was featured on the CNN website as one of the coolest commutes in the world in March 2015.
It links Queen's Road Central in Central with Conduit Road in the Mid-Levels, travelling primarily up Cochrane Street and Shelley Street. At Queen's Road Central, the Central–Mid-Levels escalators system is connected through Central Market to the Central Elevated Walkway, an extensive footbridge network covering the Central area.
The escalator system is 800 metres (2,600 ft) long with a vertical climb of 135 metres (443 ft). The total travel time is twenty minutes, but many people walk while the escalator moves to shorten their trip.[6] Due to the geographical situation, the same distance is equivalent to several miles of zigzagging roads if travelling by car. According to Guinness World Records, these escalators together form the longest outdoor covered escalator system.
The system includes 18 escalators and three inclined moving walkways. Due to the complex terrain, parts of the system run on elevated concrete structures, while other sections sit at ground level.
The moving walkways have a tread width of one metre, allowing faster pedestrians to pass slower users.[6] In line with Hong Kong escalator etiquette, slower or idle users generally keep to the right. The three walkways have inclines of 8.1°, 11.9° and 11.7°. Eleven of the escalators have a typical 30° incline, while the remaining seven have a non-standard 17.5° incline.
All the walkways (except for at-grade road crossings) are covered to protect users from the rain, although the sides are open to the elements. The roofing structure was designed to be visually attractive, and incorporates translucent polycarbonate to allow sunlight to illuminate the walkways.
The system runs through the whole length of Cochrane Street (named for Rear Admiral Thomas Alexander Cochrane) between Queen's Road Central and Hollywood Road. Then it runs along the entire length of a ladder street, Shelley Street.
The whole system bisects the following streets / roads:
Queen Victoria Street (域多利皇后街)
Des Voeux Road Central (德輔道中)
Queen's Road Central (皇后大道中)
Stanley Street (士丹利街)
Wellington Street (威靈頓街)
