Portland, Oregon’s largest city, sits on the Columbia and Willamette rivers, in the shadow of snow-capped Mount Hood. It’s known for its parks, bridges and bicycle paths, as well as for its eco-friendliness and its microbreweries and coffeehouses. Iconic Washington Park encompasses sites from the formal Japanese Garden to Oregon Zoo and its railway. The city hosts thriving art, theater and music scenes.
Downtown Portland is the heart of the city. To the immediate south of Downtown is the campus of Portland State University and South Waterfront, an urban revitalization area at the southern end of the streetcar line with newly built glass residential towers. Just to the north of Downtown is Old Town, which is where Portland was first settled and which has some historic buildings and is a nightlife center, but also contains a fair amount of social services for homeless and mentally ill. The neighborhood also holds the remnants of Chinatown.
Just to the northwest of Downtown is the Pearl District, a very hip and trendy neighborhood on the streetcar line which was not long ago derelict warehouses and empty industrial space. To the north of the Pearl, at the northern end of the streetcar line is the Northwest District, also known as Nob Hill and also on the trendy side and with a variety of retail shops, bars, and restaurants along with plenty of lovely Victorians and tree-lined streets. West of this is the West Hills, where the well-to-do of Portland have traditionally lived.
Hawthorne Blvd, which runs east-west across the river from Downtown. SE Division, parallel to and a mile south of Hawthorne Blvd. Located along Sandy Blvd northeast of downtown, Hollywood is a commercial district for the nearby neighborhoods and home to the Hollywood Theater. To the north of downtown between MLK Blvd and 30th Avenue, Alberta Street has much the same feel as Hawthorne Blvd; a counter-culture/bohemian community that's becoming popular with yuppies.

This was taken in August and I don't believe the rhodoendron and other things were in full bloom. It is also right next to the road unfortunately so I picked up some noises of passing cars.
Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is a botanical garden located between Reed College and the Eastmoreland Golf Course in southeastern Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon.
The garden, at Southeast 28th Avenue and Woodstock Boulevard, covers 9.49 acres (3.84 ha), is named for the numerous springs within the garden. Crystal Springs Garden features more than 2,500 rhododendrons, azaleas, and other plants in a setting of small lakes, paved and unpaved paths, fountain, and small waterfalls.
The garden is open daily from dawn to dusk year round. From March 1 through September 30, an admission fee is charged Tuesday through Sunday during the hours of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pets are allowed on a leash.
The project began in 1950 as a rhododendron test garden on a site previously covered with brush, blackberries, native trees, and the remnants of a Shakespeare theater developed by students of Reed College. In 1964, the park's name was officially changed to Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden.
In addition to the manicured areas that make up most of the garden, patches of less orderly shrubs, upland forest, marsh vegetation, and submerged logs attract wildlife, especially waterfowl, most prevalent in winter. The Rhododendron Society has counted 94 species in the garden, including grebes, herons, ducks, Canada geese, wigeons, gulls, thrushes, nuthatches, hummingbirds, and others.[wikipedia]

Cathedral Park, Oregon in 4K (UHD)
Cathedral Park lies in North Portland nestled on the banks of the Willamette river in the unsurprisingly named Cathedral Park Neighborhood. A quiet unassuming location beneath the St. Johns bridge, where thousands of commuters pass overhead daily. Walking beneath the towering cathedral-like footings of the St. John’s bridge with the sun rays streaking through the morning mist, and the trees of Forest Park dancing in the distance as a cool breeze passes through them, it’s nothing short of a religious experience.

Grant's Getaways: Oregon's Secret Garden
The beauty of an Oregon spring is the chance to strike out on new adventures where the scenery is never twice the same. So it is this week as we visit two striking sites for the price of one stop — The Dean Creek Elk Preserve and Spruce Reach Island.
Be prepared for something special along Oregon State Highway 38 near Reedsport on Oregon's southern coast: what appears to be dancing antlers across grassy fields at the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area. On some days, elk antlers are all you spy from the refuge viewpoint in the tall, wavy grass that obscures the large animals that lounge across the habitat at Dean Creek. The site encompasses 1,040 acres and it is jointly managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
But Dean Creek's elk herd is just the start of this wild adventure. The real show-stopper is just up the road at Spruce Reach Island, where you see thousands of rhododendrons and azaleas and camellias -- over 300 different species. Stroll in and discover what some call, Oregon's Secret Garden.

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) is the technology of indoor and vehicular environmental comfort. Its goal is to provide thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality. HVAC system design is a subdiscipline of mechanical engineering, based on the principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Refrigeration is sometimes added to the field's abbreviation as HVAC&R or HVACR, or ventilating is dropped as in HACR (such as the designation of HACR-rated circuit breakers). Providing the latest in air comfort technology is Daikin’s mission. Air conditioner compressors are driven by motor, and motor rotation speed depends on power supply frequency. An inverter modulates power supply frequency to control motor rotation speed. Inverters stabilize temperature by adjusting compressor operation according to load to eliminate waste and save energy. Even adopting an inverter to the fan motors of the indoor and outdoor units provides more precise control and contributes to energy savings. Compact size and ease of installation make split and multi-split air conditioners the popular choice for new construction and renovation projects.
