Riot police clash with protesters inside Hong Kong mall
Hong Kong riot police clashed with protesters inside a mall on Sunday night as they tried to disperse tens of thousands rallying against a controversial extradition bill in the residential district of Sha Tin. Protesters were marching in Sha Tin, a town between Hong Kong island and the border with China, extending the demonstrations outward from the heart of the financial centre into surrounding districts. Millions have taken to the streets over the past month in some of the largest and most violent protests in decades over an extradition bill that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial in courts controlled by the Communist Party.
ULTRA HD 4K POOR SIDE OF HONG KONG - TO KWA WAN 土瓜灣 | CAR REPAIR AREA
#ultrahd #uhd #hd #4k #hongkong #hk #virtualwalk #tokwawan
Come on a virtual walk on the poor side of Hong Kong, To Kwa Wan 土瓜灣, with its dilapidated and aged housing. Our video is filmed in Ultra HD 4K, so it is crystal clear, so you can experience it like virtual reality.
To Kwa Wan is a solemn quiet neighbourhood that is filled with low rise old housing, and car garages, and whilst you walk, you can smell pungent smells. There are literally no shops except for one 7-11 and one hotel. I did not see one MTR station. It reminds me of the 60's Hong Kong, and it has not been renovated or improved since.
To Kwa Wan (traditional Chinese: 土瓜灣; simplified Chinese: 土瓜湾; pinyin: Tǔguāwān; Jyutping: tou2 gwaa1 waan1) is a bay and an area of the eastern shore of Kowloon peninsula. The area is part of urban Hong Kong, and is adjacent to Hok Yuen, Hung Hom, Ma Tau Wai and Ma Tau Kok. Administratively, the area belongs to the Kowloon City District of Kowloon.
To Kwa Wan is a mixed residential and commercial area, and is located to the west of the old Kai Tak Airport.
Most residential dwellings in the area are mid-rise flats of 10 or less floors, built in the mid-20th century. Newer buildings being built in or around To Kwa Wan are taller than 10 stories. Those flats built along major roads like Ma Tau Wai Road have commercial space on the ground floor.
Buildings along To Kwa Wan Road are mainly occupied by industry. Towngas has a storage facility in the northern part of To Kwa Wan.
In the 1970s public housing estates were built in the area to provide relief in other crowded areas of Kowloon.
Poor building standards and ageing have been highlighted by crumbling facades which have hurt or killed people in the area. The demolition of older flats have given means for developers to acquire land in To Kwa Wan to build newer and more profitable residential flats.
The above is an excerpt from Wikipedia.

Hong Kong's MTR trains crash during signal test

Two trains of Hong Kong’s railway system the MTR collided near Central station during an overnight test of a new signal system. Both drivers of the trains were taken to hospital after the crash. MTR Corp officials say the railway will suspend all testing until the crash has been thoroughly investigated.
The MTR experienced a morning of delays following the crash, as well as because of a separate incident at around 10.34am the same day when the East Rail Line was delayed after a person reportedly fell onto the tracks.
Service at the Mong Kok East station was suspended because a woman had fallen near Kowloon Tong station. During the incident, trains between Tai Po Market and Lok Ma Chau stations were running less frequently between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East, and between Tai Wai and Lo Wu.

My name is Dennis. In 2009, I opened this channel to record or document this city. I know something is being changed in next decade(s), or I felt the change have began since 2003, no later in 2046. I want to, at least, save some kind of city life in video form instead of taken photo or written in words. I strongly believe that motion picture and sound recording are much better way to preserve and present in the future when young generation want to get know of Hong Kong.
In May of 2018, I wrote the following statement in below:
Hi everyone, thank you for supporting me in fulfilling my childhood dream of making videos.
My parents had always taken a tolerant attitude toward my “capricious”: whether my work is feasible and sustainable... and they never complained about it.
As my father just passed away in May, I am left with no choice but to give up my video making venture.
In Hong Kong where the cost of living is sky high, youtube video making is simply not sustainable by google adsense alone. The revenue produced is way too insufficient for affording a domestic helper, and I must look after my mom all by myself - this is why I must stay very close to her at all times.
Unless my revenue is closed to market rate, or my income can cover a domestic helper, otherwise I can hardly justify any video-related works.
Therefore, from now on everything video will be postponed in terms of year(s).
Thank you, and hope to see you all again in the future.
Because I am the only son of my mother in Hong Kong, and I have to take care of her at home. I almost give up this channel because of high consumption of time and living cost. But I found some extra time.
I live in Fanling, north part of New Territory, so it will include my showtime of traveling back and forth. Because of home care to my old mother, there will be no time other than 9:00 to 16:00 because my mother is staying at the senior daycare center, so before and after that, I will NOT able to do filming.
I understand most of you are looking for high quality of video, e.g. 4K or 8K. But hardware is so important at this post-production, that is, the higher quality video, the higher powerful computer to render video. Financial is my biggest issue, I can't afford to buy an expensive hardware right now. Even previous old 2K recorded video, it wasn't easy at all, one hour video = 1.5 hours of rendering time, plus uploading time. How about 1 hour 4K ? = 15 hour up......under my old computer. (please check youtube.com/user/hongkongmap/about )
I will continue to run this channel as long as the time is fit-on-me or I don't see any kind of video job could fit me.
I hope this is clear to everyone.

The APEC Leaders' Meeting this year has concluded in Papua New Guinea. China's Hong Kong SAR, as an important member economy of APEC, and a founding member of the WTO, epitomizes the benefits of inclusive growth. Hong Kong's economy consistently ranks high on ease of doing business and IPOs. CGTN's Tian Wei sat down with Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam on the sideline of the APEC meetings, and she explains how she plans to steer her city toward free trade within the Greater Bay Area and throughout APEC. #Hongkong #CarrieLam
