Highpointing: Mount Elbert, the highest point in Colorado - Rooftops of America
We're starting out this season with a big one! Mount Elbert is the highest point in Colorado and the third highest state highpoint. It is also the first 14er in the quest for 56. We took the south trail up the mountain which made a longer day, but the weather was excellent. Leadville has a fascinating history and is one of the highest incorporated cities in the the United States. It experienced the west when it was really wild. Join us as we explore America and go highpointing!

From December of 2017 i started the brutal training to make this trip possible! I started by intensively hitting the Manitou Incline with and with out my bicycle (carrying it) In the mix of that, I was able to conquer Mt Rosa for a more accurate training with the steepness and dirt trail.. i did that 3 times. and as i was near the time to go, I conquered Mt Bross, Mt Lincoln, Mt Cameron, and Mt Princeton in Altitude training!!
I have biked Pikes Peak and Mt Evans on the road, Elbert was the first one on the trail!! So stoked to be giving you guys this footage of my descent!

A few friends and I went to Leadville, Colorado to climb some mountains. The peaks we summited were South Peak, Mount Sherman, Mount Elbert, Mount Massive, Mount Lincoln, Mount Democrat, Mount Cameron, Mount Bross and Mount Bross South. I thought it would be awesome to film the trip and make a short video. This is my first time making a video edit and any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Mt. Elbert, 2nd Highest peak in U.S.
Mount Elbert has a lot to be proud of: It is the highest mountain in Lake County, highest in Colorado, highest in the Rockies, and second highest in the contiguous United States. But when you ask a non-climber or someone outside of Colorado, nobody has heard of it. However, that’s their loss, because Mt. Elbert is a spectacular peak and worthy of recognition and respect from all. One of the great things about Mt. Elbert is the relatively moderate terrain to the summit, allowing almost anyone with reasonable fitness to enjoy the mountain and its status
