Mt. Sanitas - Boulder Colorado
Mount Sanitas Trail is a moderate to difficult trail located in Boulder Colorado. The trail meanders both sides of the ridge leading to the summit of Mount Sanitas. The southern portion of the trail is utilized as an access by climbers to several bouldering areas along the trail.

Boulder, Colorado - Mt. Sanitas Trail
Landscape Photography Mt Sanitas Trail - Boulder CO
Took the family up to Mt Saints Trail with me on a chilly morning in Boulder. Heading out with a baby slows things down a bit so I had to race up the trail some to beat the morning light.
The foothills did not disappoint. I'm happy with all the photos in the video. There were a few spots I with great vantages but riddled with power lines. I've found this to be a problem both close to home and far out in the wilderness.
Nothing is more fun than sharing your passion with those you love. Glad to have spent the morning taking photos and then grabbing some coffee afterwards.

SNOW RUN ON MOUNT SANITAS
In the spirit of the new year and trying new things, the following is an experiment.
I recently took some footage on a wintry run and decided to leave it largely unedited, accompanied by some apropos music.
Is it too shaky? Probably.
Is the music too slow? No. Christmas instrumentals are the best.
Is it too long? Yes. But so is the monotony of treadmill running.
Please vote with your feet.
If you enjoy it, watch for a couple of minutes.
If you loathe it, just click to the next (great) Mocko Show episode.
Here's to a 2019 full of taking risks!

Mount Sanitas, Boulder Foothills dayhike, 1/18/15
Jan. 18, 2015 dayhike in the Boulder Foothills at Mt. Sanitas, a 6,800+ ft. sandstone formation that Amy and I trekked during our first stay with relatives in Boulder. One of many (dozens, literally) peaks in and around the boundary of the Rockies and Continental Divide, I highly recommend acclimatizing in the Foothills whenever in Colorado!
HOKA ONE ONE Top Trails - Boulder, CO
Our third stop for the HOKA ONE ONE Top Trails running show is Boulder, CO. Located at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills at an elevation of 5,430 feet, Boulder is a high-altitude training ground for fitness enthusiasts of all kinds. The city is also home to the University of Colorado, who’s 1998 cross country program was highlighted in the cult classic book Running with the Buffaloes, and the Bolder Boulder 10K- one of the largest road races in the world. Boulder resident, Amanda Lee takes us on a run to the peak of Mt. Sanitas, starting at the Centennial Trailhead and taking the rocky and technical Mt. Sanitas Trail.
The trailheads for many popular hikes and runs are located at Chautauqua Park, which sits at the foot of Green Mountain and provides views of the iconic Flatiron rock formations. Our hosts, Matt Barnhart and Ian Terpin head to Chautauqua Park and meet up with Ryan Lassen (Co-Founder, Rocky Mountain Runners) and the trail running group “Rocky Mountain Runners” for a run up Green Mountain. Next they visit the Boulder Running Company and talk to Jim Shonkwiler about the trails and some of Boulder’s running history. They sit down for breakfast at the Walnut Cafe and talk to coach Brad Hudson about his elite training group Hudson Elite. Henry Guzman (Co-Owner, Flatirons Running Inc.) sits down at the Pearl St. Mall to talk about the culture in Boulder and the Pearl St. Mile. Finally, Matt and Ian grab some pizza at Pizzeria Locale.

Eldorado Canyon State Park, Colorado. Rattlesnake Gulch Day Hike.
This video shows my hike on the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail to the continental divide overlook. It is about 4.5 miles round trip with 1000 feet of elevation gain. This trail features very beautiful views of the canyon and a moderately steep climb through pine forests before topping out at a spectacular view of the continental divide. Enjoy!

Mt. Sniktau 13,234 Feet. Colorado Spring 13er Day Hike.
This video is from my May 4th climb to the summit of Mt. Sniktau at 13,234 Feet. This 13er is a repeat for me but an even more beautiful hike when all the mountains are covered in snow! This hike starts from the loveland pass trailhead and climbs 2000 feet to the summit. This hike is about 5.5 miles round trip. Enjoy!

Green Mountain Hike - Boulder, Colorado
After work I rushed home to get ready so Little Bear and myself could go on an adventure. We drove out to Boulder Colorado decided on hiking Green Mountain. We chose a shorter hike since it was Little Bear’s first hike. This is the first video with Little Bear which is our newest member of the family. He was a rescue (which we fully support and thank all the rescue homes out there) that is a rottweiler and something else mix. He's about 3-4 years old so no longer a pup (even though he looks like it). This was our first mountain hike and he did amazing, even out hiking me.

Upper Cascade Falls Ouray Colorado
Riding a motorcycle on the Million Dollar Highway is awesome and there are some great sites off the bike in the San Juan mountains worth some extra effort.
Hiking in the Rocky Mountains of #Colorado is always a great outdoor experience. While hammock camping near Ouray, Colorado I decided to hike to #Upper Cascade Falls and Chief Ouray mine east of Ouray. Upper Cascade Falls cannot be seen from Ouray, but the building at Chief Ouray mine can be seen high above Lower Cascade Falls. Both the lower and upper falls are very picturesque waterfalls.
The Upper Cascade Falls trail starts in the Amphitheater Campground in Ouray, Colorado. The Upper Cascade Falls trailhead starts at an elevation 7,900 and the elevation gain to the mine is 1,560 with a maximum elevation on the trail of 10,000. Roundtrip to the mine and back is close to 5 miles. The trail is well marked and is considered moderate – strenuous.
Camping and hiking in the San Juan Mountains is great. Mt. Sneffels is to the west and is also a great hike. The Million Dollar Highway, US 550, runs through Ouray and is a great road for motorcycle riding. Taking It Outside
