Shandon by John Murphy from Shandon Street
Potcheen are a traditional group from Cork City, who play in venues throughout the south of Ireland.
This track features vocalist John Murphy's solo version of Shandon, which he wrote himself about the famous church in the area in which he grew up.
The track is accompanied by footage shot by Claire Guerin, during the incredibly sunny summer of 2014.
Saint Anne's Church, often simply called Shandon, among other names, is one of Cork's most famous landmarks. It was recently refurbished and reopened in September 2014.

Cork An Odyssey Album
The pride that each and every Corkonian feels for their beloved Cork lies at the heart and soul of Cork An Odyssey. Its treasure trove of elegant, theatrical, poetic original lyrics and music, recorded live, is a positive treat for the senses, taking us on an epic journey down through the centuries and right up to the present day. A celebration of some of Cork’s best loved characters, our colourful sporting traditions and the games we used to play and still play gives you a flavour of what’s in store on this exciting inspirational musical journey; as well as romancing down the Mardyke and Marina and along our beloved Pana with the Shandon bells serenading the Coal Quay Shawlies.
Cork An Odyssey is a monument to our mothers and fathers and to our children and their children who will proudly carry the red and white flag through the 21st century, singing praise for our Smiling City of Cork – City of Music.

Venturing to Cork City!
One of the days, we decided to venture to Cork City.
We made it to the Shandon Bells, then to the English Market, to do some retail shopping...and then the Gaol!
We stopped off for a small bit of food earlier in the day in the English Markets, which I totally recommend if you've never been. The smells of bread and sweet food and cooking is so intense but so lovely.

First flight out over surf, very tricky trying to match the speed of the wave and track the person and not crash all at once. My little brain dont be able for multi tasking but we got a clip none the less
