Starting Point
From Tsuen Wan MTR Station, Exit A,
Turn left on the bridge and take stairs to go up,
There is bus stop on the top of station
take bus 51 in the direction of Kam Sheung Road ride bus and get off at,Country Park Station,
Then head back the way you came for approximately 5 minutes until you reach the Big signs mentioned, Tai Mo Shan country Park,(visitor centre)
turn left from sign and start walk on the road till Tai Shan Top.
End Point;
Lam Kam Road, VIA, Ng Tung Chai Road,
On Lam Kam Road you can take bus number 64k to,Kam Sheung Road Station,
Or cross road and from Opposite site you can take 64k to , Tai Po Market Station.

Tai Mo Shan (Chinese: 大帽山) is the highest peak in Hong Kong, with an elevation of 957 m. It is also the tallest coastal peak in Southern China and second tallest coastal peak in China after Mount Lao, and located at approximately the geographical center of the New Territories.
The Tai Mo Shan Country Park covers an area of 14.40 km² around Tai Mo Shan. It is located to the north of Tai Lam Country Park. It is noted to have the 35-metre high Long Falls, the highest waterfall in Hong Kong.
Tai Mo Shan is an extinct volcano dating from the Jurassic period. A small hill known as Kwun Yum Shan near the mountain still vents warm air though cracks in the rocks that lead all the way to the mantle.The holes that exhale warm air are known as hot pots. When the surface temperature is cold, and the warmth of the expelled air is clearly discernible, this phenomenon is referred to by locals as dragon's breath. If the air temperature at the summit is 6 degrees Celsius, then the air emerging from the interior of Kwun Yum Shan is somewhere between 13 and 21 degrees Celsius. Hong Kong frost chasers stranded on Tai Mo Shan on Jan 24
Dozens of frost chasers became stranded on the road down from Hong Kong’s tallest peak after blistering wind and rain had made road conditions too slippery to walk, hampering rescue efforts.
Firefighters had received around 20 calls for help this morning by 9am from Tai Mo Shan peak as crowds hoping to catch sight of rare frost in subzero conditions had clambered up steep slopes in the early morning and found themselves struggling in the freezing conditions.
One sightseer was reported in critical condition, according to firefighters at the scene.

At 957 metres (3,139 feet) Tai Mo Shan is the highest peak in Hong Kong. It's name mean Big Hat Mountain.
Obviously the last few metres are off-limits but I went in, anyway, and asked the guards for an escort up. In the world of highpoints there's no requirement to violate laws, property rights, local customs, or religious practices to reach the absolute summit - getting as high up as allowed is enough. This shot, in Hong Kong, was taken a few days ago as I'm now in Malaysia heading up their highest point..

Rescue operation in Tai Mo Shan
Rescue workers extracted their final evacuee at dawn Monday morning 25 January 2016 after a more than a 20-hour operation to assist more than 100 people trapped at Tai Mo Shan. Sunday temperatures plunged to the lowest point in nearly 60 years and frost dusted the mountaintops of a city accustomed to a subtropical climate.

The MacLehose Trail, a 100 kilometre-long Country Parks hiking trail, winds through this region. Generally crossing higher land, the ten-Section Trail offers memorable countryside experiences -- and the adventure of sustained hiking.
The New Territories, through which the MacLehose Trail runs, covers the vast majority of the SAR's land area. Here is Hong Kong's most varied - and finest - countryside. The east coast, where the Trail begins, is deeply indented and wild. The central mountains, which the MacLehose Trail crosses, include many of Hong Kong's highest peaks. And the western part, where the Trail winds to its end, has impressive valley reservoirs.
The MacLehose Trail links eight Country Parks. Sai Kung East Country Park (4,477 hectares), Sai Kung West Country Park (3,000 hectares), Ma On Shan Country Park (2,880 hectares), Lion Rock Country Park (557 hectares), Kam Shan Country Park (337 hectares), Shing Mun Country Park (1,400 hectares), Tai Mo Shan Country Park (1,440 hectares), and Tai Lam Country Park (5,370 hectares).
