Hong Kong people rally against violence in Tamar Park
A large number of Hong Kong people launched a rally against violence in Tamar Park on December 15. Thousands of people arrived at the scene one after another, raising national flags, regional flags and slogans in support of the police and anti-violence. They expressed the aspirations of anti-violence and adhering to the rule of law. They strongly condemn the protesters' violence and support the police to enforce law strictly. At the rally, several people also shared their experiences of being attacked by violent protesters in the past six months.

'Tamar Park (Chinese: 添馬公園) is an urban park in Admiralty, Hong Kong covering around 17,000 square metres (180,000 sq ft) with the design concept of 'perpetual green'. The park occupies 80% of the Tamar site public space and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong government. It is enclosed by Harcourt Road, Legislative Council Road, Tim Mei Avenue, Tim Wa Avenue and Lung Wo Road. The Central Government Complex and the Legislative Council Complex are adjacent to Tamar Park.
The Tamar Development Project was restarted when Hong Kong chief executive Donald Tsang announced in his policy address for the financial year 2006 that Hong Kong's Central Government Offices, Legislative Council Building and the Office of the Chief Executive would be relocated to Tamar site, Admiralty.
Hong Kong Government announced four design plans for the construction of the new headquarters of the Government on 26 March 2007. One of the design plans which is named as Tamar for Public (公眾的添馬) suggested the space constructs for public with the theory of Land always Green (地常綠), and it would be connected to Wanchai Waterfront Promenade when the public area is built. This suggested design was finally accepted by the Government. The project began construction in February 2008 and the topping-out ceremony hosted on 25 January 2011.’

Since the beginning of March, demonstrations against a government-proposed legislative amendment on extradition have taken place in Hong Kong. The discontent then grew into a variety of grievances. Some of these protests have turned violent.

Tamar Park, located at Harcourt Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong, is a part of the Tamar Development Project. Adjacent to the new Central Government Offices and the Legislative Council Complex, it covers an area of around 1.76 hectares. The park was opened for public use on 10 October 2011. Designed with elegant simplicity, the park offers broad views of the picturesque Victoria Harbour. Spacious green lawns, rolling out like green carpets, provide a swathe of verdant open space for visitors to stroll or sit.
Other park facilities include a landscaped garden, water features, a floating platform, Tamar Corner, an amphitheatre and Tamar Cafe. The amphitheatre has a seating capacity of about 240 and is available for booking by organisations for staging cultural and leisure activities as well as performances. The Park will provide visitors with access to the Central Piers and the Star Ferry Pier via the adjoining Central and Western District Promenade (Central Section).

Over 1,000 people gathered on Dec. 15 in a rally held at Tamar Park, Admiralty of Hong Kong, to voice their demand for stopping violence and restoring stability in Hong Kong.
Angelo, a Swiss businessman who has lived in Hong Kong for over 20 years, participated in the rally. He said the violence severely affected his life and work. Despite previous threats, he thought he needs to speak out and condemn the violence.
