This is the first part 4 of my Hong Kong Travel Vlog
Even though it’s only four MTR stops from Central and a mere five-minute walk from Causeway Bay, this laid-back neighbourhood is a world away from the busy city life of Hong Kong. Located near the beautiful Victoria Park, Tin Hau and its surrounding streets are littered with fashion boutiques, beauty salons, bars and restaurants of every cuisine imaginable – making it the perfect place to chill and relax! There’s also lot of attractions that you can visit in Tin Hau such as the Tin Hau Temple, Hong Kong central library, Causeway Bay Markets etc.
Unfortunately my time is limited so I couldn’t go to a lot of places, we drop by Café de Coral for lunch it was yummy! Café de Coral is Hong Kong’s largest, most successful Chinese fast-food brand.
Thank you for watching! Next video will be up very soon! The drone video will be up soon too!

About this video
Dennis Chua visits Tin Hau in Hong Kong. Tin Hau is known as the empress of heaven and a protector of sea travellers, and she is worshipped throughout Asia under various names. Visit the Causeway Bay temple for a peaceful oasis in the midst of Hong Kong. Many temples throughout Hong Kong honour the goddess Tin Hau, but the Tin Hau Temple in Causeway Bay is the most famous. Tin Hau is an area in Wan Chai District, in the north of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. We stayed at the Metro Park Hotel which is situated not too far from the Tin Hau station. Pretty close and convenient in getting in and out of the main CBD area. Trip to Hong Kong, EP 6 – Tin Hau Temple and Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei
This Tin Hau Temple is more than a hundred years old. The Temple Street market is nearby but is only operated at night. There are a number of old Chinese style shops along Shanghai Street. You can also find a lot of shops selling kitchen wares (both Chinese and Western) in the area.

Tin Hau Temple Kowloon Hong Kong -- Traveling the World from Time to Time
The Tin Hau Temple is a complex of temples in Kowloon's Yau Ma Tai district. It is linked to the Shea Tam, Shing Wong and Fook Tak Tse temples. These temples originally were built way back in 1870 before being transferred to the position they presently occupy. In 1972, they were also renovated to their present condition.
This amazing Tin Hau Temple has been dedicated to a goddess who goes by the same name. She is the patroness of those who are at see and the queen of heaven according to ancient Chinese folklore. She was born to a fisherman way back in AD 960.
Visiting this temple is a lot of fun. There is such a wealth of history about it that you will not want to leave the place when you get there. Seeing as how it is the largest and oldest Tin Hau Temple in Hong Kong, it follows that most of the residents of the city especially fishermen, come here to pay their homage to the goddess for whom the temple was dedicated.

Hong Kong 10 - Tin Hau Temple 天后廟
After a harrowing adventure and some chestnuts, So-Han and Max finally make it to Tin Hau Temple 天后廟 near Tin Hau Temple Road, Causeway Bay. Apparently we started remarkably close to it, then proceeded to go as far away from it as possible before finally finding it. TIn Hau Temple is dedicated to Matsu, the Goddess of the Sea, a very important deity in coastal regions of China such as Hong Kong. Apparently there are around 60 Tin Hau Temples in Hong Kong, but this is the only one with an MTR stop named after it! In the traditional Southern Chinese style, the eaves and roof of Tin Hau Temple are lushly decorated with beautiful Shek Wan 石灣 ceramics, a colorful style of ceramic art which is unique to Southern China. I offer a stick of incense and a small bag of roasted chestnuts to Tin Hau, hopefully she'll help me find my family.

ULTRA HD 4K HONG KONG LONGEVITY TEMPLE | TIN HAU TEMPLE IN REPULSE BAY | KWUN YAM SHRINE | THE PULSE
#4k #uhd #hongkong #hongkongtourism
Join us where we show you the Longevity Temple also known as Tin Hau Temple In Repulse Bay in Hong Kong. Video is filmed in Ultra HD 4K, crystal clear quality, as if you are here.
Here you will see the Kwun Yam Shrine and Tin Hau Statue. These holy shrines and statues are exactly on Repulse Bay Beach. The towering traditional Chinese statues stand 10 meters high and Kwun Yam is the goddess of mercy. The bridge is the longevity bridge.
The backdrop of the Temple is idyllic and peaceful, and open to tourists.
'Kwum Yam Shrine is a Taoist shrine at the southeastern end of Repulse Bay, in the southern part of Hong Kong Island.Repulse Bay is located in the southern part of Hong Kong Island, to the east of Deep Water Bay and to the west of Middle Bay and South Bay. Middle Island is located off Hong Kong Island, between Repulse Bay and Deep Water Bay. The Repulse Bay area is one of the most expensive housing areas in Hong Kong. Tencent's CEO Pony Ma bought a house there for US$57 million in 2014.[5] In 2018 twin townhouses were sold for HK$1 billion (US$127 million) or about HK$90,000 (US$11,500) per square foot.[6] In 2018 Li Ka-shing, the richest man in Hong Kong, was living near Repulse Bay.[3]
The former Repulse Bay Hotel was demolished in 2 stages during the 1970s and 1980s. Later a boutique shopping mall was constructed on part of the old hotel site to mimic some of the lost colonial architecture.
Emperor International Holdings Limited bought Lido Mall at Repulse Bay and renamed it The Pulse, but due to its expansion to five storeys and 143,000 sq ft, it was in negotiations with the government over the land premium. On 15 May 2012, Emperor announced an agreement with the government with the land premium at HK$798 million.[7] Emperor would put The Pulse up for lease after receiving the occupation permit. The 143,000-square-foot, five-storey shopping mall would be rented out at HK$50 to HK$60 per square foot.[8] The Pulse was opened in 2016.'
