ULTRA HD 4K HONG KONG SHOPPING MALL -- PARK CENTRAL | TSEUNG KWAN O | 將軍澳中心
#parkcentral #parkcentraltko #hongkong #shoppingmall
Welcome to our Hong Kong Walking Tour in Park Central in Tseung Kwan O 將軍澳中心. The mall is nearly full renovated.
'Park Central (Chinese: 將軍澳中心) is a private housing estate and shopping mall in Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong, located near MTR Tseung Kwan O Station. It consists of 12 residential blocks in two phases with a total of 4,152 units, and a 350,000-square-foot (33,000 m2) shopping mall, the largest one in Tseung Kwan O. It was jointly developed in 2002, 2003 and 2005 by the consortium of property developers, including Sun Hung Kai Properties, Henderson Land Development, Chinachem Group, MTR Corporation and Nan Fung Group.[1][2]'
'Tseung Kwan O New Town (Chinese: 將軍澳新市鎮) is one of the nine new towns in Hong Kong, built mainly on reclaimed land in the northern half of Junk Bay (also known as Tseung Kwan O), after which it is named.
Development of the new town was approved in 1982, with the initial population intake occurring in 1988. As of 2016, the town is home to around 372,000 residents. The total development area of Tseung Kwan O, including its industrial estate, is about 10.05 square kilometres (3.88 sq mi), with a planned population of 445,000.[1] Major residential areas within the new town include Tsui Lam, Po Lam, Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O Town Centre, Tiu Keng Leng (formerly known as Rennie's Mill) and Siu Chik Sha.
Administratively, the new town belongs to Sai Kung District in the southeastern New Territories, although it is often incorrectly regarded as part of Kowloon due to its close proximity to the city—the town is bordered by the urban township of Kwun Tong to its west.
Tseung Kwan O is located near the southeastern tip of the New Territories mainland, 9 to 12 km (5.6 to 7.5 mi) east-southeast from the Central District of Hong Kong.
The town is bounded on the south by the namesake Junk Bay, known as Tseung Kwan O (將軍澳) in Chinese. Most of the residential developments in the new town stand on land reclaimed from the bay. The mountains of Devil's Peak, Chiu Keng Wan Shan, Black Hill and Tai Sheung Tok form the new town's western boundary, where it borders Kwun Tong District of Kowloon. Lying to the north and southeast of the town are Razor Hill and High Junk Peak, which separate the new town from the rural parts of Sai Kung District.
The whole of Tseung Kwan O belongs to Sai Kung District, part of the New Territories. The town is, however, situated far away from other major population centres of the New Territories, and is instead in close proximity with Kwun Tong in Kowloon. While the town is entirely within the New Territories East geographical constituency, a number of governmental bodies and large corporations would, for the sake administrative convenience, classify Tseung Kwan O as part of Kowloon East, adding to the confusion of the town's residents. For example, the Hospital Authority places Tseung Kwan O under its Kowloon East Cluster,[3]. From 1992 to 2017 Tseung Kwan O had been policed under the Tseung Kwan O Division of the Kwun Tong Police District, and the upgraded Tseung Kwan O Police District still belongs to the Kowloon East Police Region.[4] It is under such a situation that the new town is often incorrectly referred to as part of Kowloon. This is illustrated by the fact that the two hotels in Tseung Kwan O are named Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East and Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon East.'

HONG KONG WALKING TOUR (ULTRA HD 4K) - HANG HAU | 坑口
#walk #walking #4kwalking #hongkong #discoverhongkong
Welcome to our Hong Kong Walking Tour in Hang Hau 坑口. Our video is shot in Ultra HD 4K, crystal clear quality, as if you are actually here. The walk starts in the street where the post office is. Hang Hau is basically linked by shoppping centres and its layout is like a square roundabout, with the shopping centre in the middle and other shops and business, schools on the side.
'Hang Hau (Chinese: 坑口) is a residential area in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is located at the eastern edge of the Tseung Kwan O New Town. Most of the land was reclaimed from Hang Hau Village and Shui Bin Village (水邊村).
The earliest history referring to Hang Hau was in the 19th century. It was an agricultural and fishing village. Hang Hau got its name from a large water channel near Mang Kung Uk (孟公屋) that led to the sea. In days gone by, Hang Hau was on the sea front, facing Junk Bay. Many of the village names in Hang Hau reflect this – Shui Bin Village (水邊村) means Waterside Village, for example.
On 2 October 1957, Hang Hau Rural Committee was established. The rural committee was to serve the indigenous inhabitants in Hang Hau Village, Shui Bin Village, Tin Ha Wan Village, Yau Yue Wan Village, Tseng Lan Shue, Tai Po Tsai, Mang Kung Uk and Po Toi O.[1]
Between the 1960s and 1980s, Hang Hau was a large ship scrapyard area. Since there was a ferry from Junk Bay to Island East Hong Kong, Hong Kong Oxygen Company started building factories in Hang Hau. Manufacturing business and trading services were established.
Long before the development of Tseung Kwan O New Town, Hang Hau was near settlements such as Hang Hau Village, Boon Kin Village and Tin Ha Wan Village. Most of the Villages were relocated at the current site near the Tseung Kwan O Hospital, which were moved after the new town's development. Now, about two-thirds of Hang Hau is on reclaimed land, and the sea is far away.
There has been a proposal to build Hang Hau New Town.[2] It was considered because it is near the urban area, but it was put aside owing to the high cost of reclaiming the deep Junk Bay.
Housing
Indigenous three storey village houses still can be found in the eastern edge of Hang Hau. Nowadays, Hang Hau is fully built-out with private and public estates owing to the development of Tseung Kwan O New Town.
