Downtown Seattle, Washington | Seattle Public Library, Pioneer Square Station | Virtual Walking Tour
This is a virtual walking tour filmed in 4K 60ᶠᵖˢ on a calm Sunday in Downtown Seattle (city/town/village), in Seattle, Washington (US state) that begins at 6th/Stewards, then to the famous Seattle Public Library that looks like a giant glass Mosaic. We take a virtual library tour inside the library and take an escalator up to the second level. The walk ends underground at the Pioneer Square Station where we see Seattle's light rail system.

The Seattle Public Library is the public library system serving Seattle, Washington. It was officially established by the city in 1890, though there had been efforts to start a Seattle library as early as 1868. There are 26 branches in the system, most of them named after the neighborhoods in which they are located. Wikipedia

BNSF: Steilacoom and Chambers Bay Washington
I had a chance to spend a few hours track side (and water side on Puget Sound) while visiting friends in the Tacoma, Washington area. In this video we see some of the Pierce County ferry boat operations to Anderson Island while waiting for trains at the Historic town of Steilacoom. Then, we move a few miles north along the sound to Chambers Bay and its historic lift bridge, the only one left of it's type in the United States. We also see some of the wildlife that call the waters of Puget Sound home. Hope you enjoy! Please like and subscribe.

When the Amtrak Empire Builder reaches Spokane, Washington on its trip west to Seattle, half the train is split off and goes to Portland OR. This gives coach passengers a chance to shoot video out the back of the train. Here is some footage of the receding rails as the train climbs toward Stevens pass and as it leaves the 7.8 mile long tunnel under the pass to begin its downward journey to Seattle. Clouds are seen shrouding the distant mountains on this 6th of September, 2013.

Interstate Freeway Expected to Reopen After Train Derailment in Washington
An interstate freeway near DuPont City in Pierce County in the U.S. state of Washington is expected to reopen to traffic soon with cleanup work at the scene of Monday's train derailment incident about to finish.
Interstate 5 has remained closed since an Amtrak train making the first-ever run along a new route hurtled off an overpass near Dupont at around 07:45 Monday, sending some of its cars tumbling onto the freeway lanes below. Three people were killed in the incident, with more than 100 sustaining injuries, authorities said.
Dan Hall of the Washington State Patrol who has been directing the cleanup operation said crews had removed the last of the mangled wreckage from the site on Wednesday, and added that the remaining work will see the repair of the rail bridge that spans across the I-5 road.
As far as the scene itself, we still have a number of things that we need to do. The bridge repairs, as you were told earlier, there were some minor damage to that bridge. Those repairs are still in progress, Hall told reporters gathered near where a convoy of large machines remained.
Claudia Lindahl of the Washington State Department of Transportation said the cleanup work is expected to finish soon now that the last rail car and locomotive had been cleared from the crash site.
I would say that the most difficult part of this whole process is over. That's the good news for motorists, and for us now it is very similar to other scenes where we have cleanups after an incident on the freeway, she said
About 80 people were on board the Amtrak 501 en route from Seattle to Portland when it derailed and pulled 13 cars off the tracks during the Monday morning rush hour.
The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the cause of the derailment.

Chihuly Bridge of Glass in Tacoma
The Chihuly Bridge of Glass is an important part of Tacoma’s Museum of Glass. It features three major Dale Chihuly art installations on the 500 foot pedestrian bridge that connects the Museum of Glass with downtown Tacoma and spans I-705 and the Tacoma train tracks. This video features 60 of my photos of this impressive art presentation.
This is one of a series of six videos I am producing featuring Tacoma. Please check out my other wide selection of YouTube videos about exploring Seattle and Tacoma.

Where to Stay in Seattle - Charter Hotel Room Tour and Review
We spent a night at the Charter Hotel in downtown Seattle. Part of the Hilton Curio brand, this boutique hotel is 16 stories tall and includes a rooftop bar called the Fog Room and ground floor Argentinean restaurant called Patagon. Check out the video for a glimpse of dining experiences in both restaurants, and a room tour of a king-size hotel room on the 15th floor with city views.
Learn more about the hotel:
Aside from being brand new (it opened in summer 2018), this hotel is great for its proximity to downtown. It is 2 blocks away from Pike Place Market and the Seattle Waterfront and blocks away from the Westlake station that services the Light Rail, which makes a direct stop at the Seattle-Tacoma International airport. The Charter is also a short walk away from many company corporate offices including Amazon, Nordstrom, and Zillow, making it one of Seattle's best hotels for work travel.

King Street Station is a train station in Seattle, Washington, United States. Located between South King and South Jackson streets and Second and Fourth Avenues South in the Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle, the station is just south of downtown. Built between 1904 and 1906, it served the Great Northern Railway and Northern Pacific Railway from its grand opening on May 10, 1906, until the creation of Amtrak (the National Railroad Passenger Corporation) on May 1, 1971. The station was designed by the St. Paul, Minnesota architectural firm of Charles A. Reed and Allen H. Stem, who were later associate designers for the New York Central Railroad's Grand Central Terminal in New York City. King Street Station was Seattle's primary train terminal until the construction of the adjacent Oregon & Washington Depot, later named Union Station, in 1911. King Street Station was added to the National Register of Historic Places and the Washington Heritage Register in 1973.
Since the early 1990s the station was in various states of repair to undo remodels done during the middle of the Twentieth Century to modernize the facility, including the restoration of the elegant main waiting room. King Street Station was purchased by the City of Seattle in 2008 for $10 and, with enough funds finally in place, the restoration was finally completed in 2013.[4]
The station is served by Amtrak Cascades, Empire Builder, and Coast Starlight trains, and by Sound Transit's Sounder commuter trains. King St. Station is also the Seattle terminus for the Rocky Mountaineer's luxury excursion train, the Coastal Passage. For the first nine months of 2006, Sounder service boarded almost 1.2 million passengers at King Street Station.
Washington’s hidden underground station
As the capital of the United States, Washington, D.C. is widely known for its architecture. Classical structures like the White House and The U.S. Capitol abound. But for this week’s Urban Voice, Americas Now visited a site in the city which has a strikingly modern architectural style. It’s not exactly a building, but a place. And you might not know about it because it’s hidden. Underground. It’s located in DC’s upscale neighborhood, Dupont Circle.
Washington: Seattle
Seattle is the largest city in both the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest region of North America. It's the home for Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks Coffee and Boeing.
In July 2013, Seattle was the fastest-growing major city in the United States and remained in the Top 5 in May 2015 with an annual growth rate of 2.1%.
The city is situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada–United States border. A major gateway for trade with Asia, Seattle is the fourth-largest port in North America in terms of container handling as of 2015.
The video shows a panorama of Seattle seen from the Space Needle: from left, Puget Sound, Magnolia, Queen Anne Hill, Lake Union, Capitol Hill, downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay, and West Seattle.
Also shown is Pike Place Market, overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront. The Market opened on August 17, 1907, and is one of the oldest continuously operated public farmers' markets in the United States.
How We Got Here: A Reckoning with U.S. and Tacoma history
The video investigates how the U.S. and Tacoma region were shaped by racist laws, policies and discriminatory practices and argues these systems can only be dismantled through strategies of recognition, restitution, reconciliation and a sustained commitment to equity.
6 dead after Amtrak train derails in Washington state
Washington (United States), Dec 19 (ANI): At least six people were killed after an Amtrak train derailed and fell off a bridge onto Interstate 5 between Tacoma and Olympia in Washington state. The death toll is expected to increase as per the U.S. officials. Approximately 78 passengers and five crew members were on board when the mishap took place. Multiple fatalities were reported after the train derailed near Tacoma, about 40 miles south of Seattle, spilling at least one train car on to busy Interstate 5. Amtrak 501 was traveling from Seattle to Portland along a new route on the maiden voyage of an expanded high-speed option.
