Victoria Harbour is a natural landform harbour situated between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon in Hong Kong. The harbour's deep, sheltered waters and strategic location on the South China Sea were instrumental in Hong Kong's establishment as a British colony and its subsequent development as a trading centre.
Throughout its history, the harbour has seen numerous reclamation projects undertaken on both shores, many of which have caused controversy in recent years. Environmental concerns have been expressed about the effects of these expansions, in terms of water quality and loss of natural habitat. It has also been proposed that benefits of land reclamation may be less than the effects of decreased harbour width, affecting the number of vessels passing through the harbour. Nonetheless Victoria Harbour still retains its founding role as a port for thousands of international vessels each year.
Long famous for its spectacular views, the harbour is a major tourist attraction of Hong Kong. Lying in the middle of the territory's dense urban region, the harbour is the site of annual fireworks displays and its promenades are popular gathering places for tourists and residents.

One of the must things to do in Hong Kong, especially if you've never been, is to take a night cruise on Victoria Harbour on one of the retrofitted classical Hong Kong Junker boats. Two things:
1. Take the night cruises. Day cruises are available, but to see Hong Kong's true vibrant and colorful scene, one needs to see the neon lights glowing from the harbour. It's truly a magical experience.
2. Don't worry if you don't get the traditional red sail junker. You're on the boat so you don't actually get to see much of the sails, and you'll most likely be busy watching the scenery go by. It's better to experience the lit up red sail junkers from your own boat. Watching them on the harbour with the lights as the backdrop is just breathtaking.
Book in advance and get there early! These tours are popular. One of the more organized and popular cruises is the Aqua Luna cruise. If you manage a spot on the 8pm cruise, you get to see one of the numerous city light shows!

Hong Kong Sampan Cruise Ride at Aberdeen Fishing Village (4K)
We visited Aberdeen Fishing Village (香港仔水上人家) in Hong Kong and took a scenic Sampan boat ride. The tour bus left from Victoria Peak via Stubbs Road and then Deep Water Road, where we saw some beautiful views of the city before arriving at the Aberdeen Promenade. There we started the relaxing and picturesque cruise on a Big Bus Sampan Tour boat where we saw nice views of the Hong Kong skyline, skyscrapers, high-rise condos plus numerous fishing boats that comprise the village, including Chinese Junk boats. We also got to see famous Jumbo Kingdom Jumbo Floating Restaurant (珍寶海鮮舫) as well.
This was part of our Hong Kong highlights tour booked on Princess Cruises. Hong Kong was part of our March 2018 Asia Cruise aboard the Majestic Princess (盛世公主号) cruise ship.

It was my birthday and a beautiful day with cool weather and yup, we gonna have Imperial dinner on this Chinese junk, called the Cheng Ho. It offers yummy International buffet spread and dinner on the junk commences at 19:00 hrs (07:00 pm) followed by the desserts at 19:30hrs. It's a 2hr 15mins ride in the sea with spectacular views especially at night. What you will see in this video are the actual events and places that the junk will bring you. It comprises the principal group of the Riau Archipelago along with other island groups to the south, east and northeast.
